About Frances Bonniwell

We have lived at Sugley Barn together with Stanley our black Labrador for the past 10 years. The cottage was renovated for guests a couple of years ago, and all who come seem to enjoy their stay with us. We really love the area, and Stanley loves his daily local walks.

Although it is very rural, we are so close to the town and all the amenities.

Frances Bonniwell purchased this cottage in 2014

The property was excellent, very cosy, comfy and in superb condition. It is well situated for access to the local towns and roads. The owners were both friendly and helpful, and helped make my stay an enjoyable time.

Wonderful cosy cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the cottage for a month. I had just moved from Canada back to the UK to start a new job and I needed a place to stay while I got to know the area. The cottage is absolutely lovely. It's well very equipped, very comfortable and very relaxing. It is in a quiet location and has a lovely little garden. Frances, Peter (and gorgeous Stanley the dog) were very welcoming and more than happy to help with anything. This is a wonderful place to stay to explore the area - it's right in the countryside, and yet not far from Nailsworth, Bath, Cheltenham and lots of other places of interest.

Great secluded location well appointed accomadation, excelent for a quiet week away from a busy life

  • 4 of 5

Really quiet location but not too far to get to towns or locations for attractions or shopping

Accomodation was first class but the only down side was the heating, early March temperatures are a little beyond the installed heating system, although a gas heater was provided to boost the temperature.

Introduce yourself to Stanley the owners black Labrador, he keeps you advised of any visitors

We found Phone and Internet connection a little difficult but suggest that an Internet extender/booster that fits into the power system maybe the solution.

Overall it was a very nice week of nice walks, places of interest, and evenings with a good book and a glass or two of a good red wine

Lovely comfortable warm cottage.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for a week here in October. The cottage was well equipped (except that a small freezer would have been useful). We were very comfortable and warm and enjoyed a very quiet and relaxing holiday. Lovely area and we enjoyed the walk to Nailsworth and back on a beautiful sunny day. We mostly ate in but did enjoy a meal at the Huntsman Inn at nearby Kingscote.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time relaxing in this pretty cottage.

The owners were most helpful in providing useful information about the surrounding areas enabling us to enjoy stunning walks, local eateries and market towns; the location really is "true Cotswolds"

After a long day exploring we looked forward to returning to well kept and clean surroundings- we particularly enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine in our own private garden!

This cottage really does feel like a home from home and we can't wait to return. Thank you Frances!
