Our beautiful 2-bedroom apartment, close to the picturesque town of Tavira, is the ideal base for those long sunny vacation days. About the Owner

I live in Ireland with my wife, 2 children and our 4 year old grand-daughter. My wife and I both work, but spend most of our holidays in Portugal, where we have made many friends and have really fallen in love with the country.

Tavira is a great place to re-charge the batteries.

The main reason for buying in this complex was the swimming pool. The space around the pool is so important for relaxation.The apt is spacious and very comfortable. Everything slotted into place after that...the beauty of the complex & the area would keep bringing you back as much as possible. In the Algarve you are guaranteed sunshine 300 days of the year. We were hooked.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Ilha de Tavira. This beach is signposted in Tavira town. Follow signs, park car & take a short boat ride to the Ilha (island) - cost is a euro each way. Well worth the trip but sea can sometimes be rough.

Manta Rota Beach:

Barrill Beach: 10 mins

Fermica Beach: 8 mins

Travel:

Nearest airport Faro 30kms. Car hire is recommended but not essential. Taxi from airport to apartment costs €40. Shuttle bus also available approx €13 per head.

We will recommend car hire & shuttle bus if required.

Distances:

Tavira nearest town 2.0kms, nearest beach 2.5kms, nearest restaurant and bar 50mtrs, supermarket 500mtrs, children's playground 500mtrs, train station 4kms, Spain 28kms, aqua park and Zoo marine water parks 50 min drive and horse riding 10 mins drive.

Further Details:

Tavira is widely recognised as one of the most architecturally attractive towns on the Algarve, with it's Roman bridge, castle and beautiful town square, it is an unspoilt gem on the Algarve but still boasts an abundance of wonderful restaurants and pretty outdoor cafes. There is a daily market selling local produce, fruit and veg, meat and fish all fresh and inexpensive. You will find lots of small shops as you wander round the beautiful cobble lock paths in the town, or relax in the shade in the little park next to the river where local people gather to pass the time of day.

The apt is only 30 mins from the Faro airport.It is a 15 min stroll in to Tavira. The Bar is a 90 second walk. The convenience of a Supermarket the same distance. The Restaurant is closer. We provide beach towels and umbrellas so you can travel light.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is fully air-conditioned. There is double glazing with mosquito netting. There is a fire extinguisher and fire blanket in the apartment. There is a flat screen TV and DVD player. Also in the apartment we have a digital safe for security.We welcome people to our apartment to use it as their own home while they stay.There a few extras available like beach chairs/umbrella, wind-breaker/body board. Bucket & shovels for younger children. Balls for beach. Also there are 2 sets of golf clubs/tennis rackets & hurls. (Hurling is our National game for non Irish people who stay).Also we have mats for the loungers by the pool. In the press we have cool bags & there are books which have been left & swopped. Outside: The apartment complex is located on an old farm estate which is beautifully maintained. The colour & beauty of the of the shrubs are amazing. Listed below are available on the complex: - Restaurant - Bar and Snack Bar - Two swimming pools for adults - Two swimming pools for children - Tennis court - Playground - Pedestrian circuit - Self Service Laundry - Supermarket (at the entrance of Quinta do Morgado ) -Bicycle Hire Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Beach/regular towels & linen included.
