We love the chalet as it looks out on the countryside and beautifully quiet at night yet is within a 5 min drive of the seafront in Southwold. It is modern [built 2007] and light yet is cosy and heats up in a trice.

Notes on accommodation: The ground floor bedroom and en suite bathroom facility would suit persons who cannot cope with stairs Outside: Small fully enclosed front garden with two small patios laid to paving allowing easy access plus garden furniture and access to drying room. There is parking immediately outside. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning is carried out weekly. Good quality linen and towels are changed weekly. Welcome pack of essentials provided. Other: Drying room with electric dryer, changing facilities, space for bike storage plus outdoor tap for dog/boot cleaning. Also stores chairs and tables for outside patios. Twin beds downstairs are 2'6".

Lovely accommodation!

Key collection was easy as was finding the property. It had everything we needed - I cannot think of anything we needed that was not in the kitchen. The description was very accurate as were all the photos - it was a compact and well organised property and plenty big enough for the three of us. Smart T.V. worked well as did the Wi-Fi! Plenty of hot water and heating efficient. Everywhere was spotlessly clean.

We spent most of our time out cycling or walking - lovely countryside and we still have so much more to explore! It was close enough to Southwold to nip down everyday to the "Two Magpies bakery" on the High Street (pricey, but delicious cakes and bread!) and to the fish huts on the harbour.

I would have no hesitation recommending this to a friend or relative - we all want to return to the area in the near future. Thank you Richard for your help and e mails!

A most therapeutic few days at Reydon

We could not have been more comfortable and cosy at the Headmaster's House in Reydon.

Following an operation, my daughter needed to convalesce and had limited mobility, so having a ground floor bedroom with ensuite was ideal for her, while I enjoyed the beautifully light and bright upper floor bedroom, bathroom and study area. The cottage is beautifully and tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped - we were short of nothing.

Being able to park immediately next to the front gate was very useful, and as well as driving the short distance into Southwold, we found much to enjoy in Reydon itself, including a great meal at the Randolph Hotel and very short walks around the beautiful church and along country footpaths.

It was also warm and sheltered enough to enjoy sitting out in the pretty garden. All this has helped my daughter to recover fully, and was a welcome break for both of us.

There are main line trains from London to Lowestoft and Darsham and the cottage is approximately one hour from Harwich with connections to the continent. Norwich with its airport and main line station is twenty five miles from the cottage

Further Details:

Minsmere nature reserve nearby and gorgeous Suffolk coastline to walk to in country paths from the cottage.

Smashing pub/restaurant 5 mins walk and two general stores in village
