Cockle cottage has the wow factor. Yes this is on a small resedential estate but it is so close to the sea & everything about the cottage oozes luxury. Super clean with lovely touches like a bottle of wine biscuits, toiletries & lovely white towels & bedding. Having stayed in many cottages these touches are almost a thing of the past unless paying a fortune. Shops & eataries 5 minutes walk. We done to the person who maintains this its fabulous!!



Excellent quality, clean property, good parking, easy access on a modern spacious estate, close to sea, costal footpath, beach, harbour and shops.



Lovely cottage, excellent location within walking distance of local shops and restaurant,ideal base for exploring other areas of interest.



We have had the most wonderful week in Northumberland. We found your cottage beautiful and had a very comfortable stay.

Cockle Cottage

The kitchen in this property has little working surface. Unfortunately when we came to make a drink some of the teaspoons were dirty and the grill pan and some other oven trays felt greasy. It was lovely to have so many towels and the cottage was lovely. Would we go back? That would depend on what else was available at the time.The owners are very friendly and helpful, and I'm sure would have rectified the problems had we reported them.

We Will Be Back.

Fantastic owner to deal with quick responses with all info for getting to and entry into the house. House has everything you could ever need in a holiday equipped to a high standard with a lovely welcome gift and note from the owner. Her mother who lives next door popped in to see if we had everthing and all was ok. She told us of a few good walks to do with our dog which as some went over a golf course we probably wouldn't have done but we'll worth doing. The house is located at the most a 10 min walk from the town centre which was perfect for the resturants in the evening. So as in the header we will be back when we come down to the Seahouses area.

Wonderful break in a lovely cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cockle Cottage, it was warm, clean and very comfortable. The owners have paid much attention to every detail. The town of Seahouses is in walking distance and there is everything there you could possibly need. The local beaches are vast and beautiful and there are many beautiful castles and places to visit.

Superb cottage

The cottage was very clean and well decorated with a lot of lovely touches which promoted the seaside.

The extras provided were most welcome and unexpected.

The owners lived next door and were very helpful without at all intruding.

We would have liked to have stayed longer as the cottage was so comfortable and the area worth exploring more than we were able to manage in a week.

I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to any of my friends and relatives with total confidence.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is approx 5 mins walk away. The area is surrounded by beautiful beaches, Seahouses beaches within walking distance, Bamburgh beach 10 mins drive and Beadnell 5 mins drive.

Travel:

The closest airport is Newcastle International approx. 40 miles away, the closest railway stations are either Alnmouth or Berwick. A car is not essential due to the proximity of Seahouses and the local public transport, but it is advisable to have a car to explore all the fabulous places in the area.

Distances:

Seahouses is approx. a 5-7 mins stroll. Nearest garage few mins walk. Beadnell is a few mins driving and the historic village of Bamburgh is less than 10 mins driving. Alnwick is approx 14 miles away.

Further Details:

There is a wide variety of shops, takeaways, restaurants, pubs and cafes in Seahouses village, located on the main street – newsagents, bakers, butchers, grocers, chemist, pet shop, games arcades, beauty salon, a Co-op (with cashpoint) and tourist/gift shops, Barclays bank (with cashpoint) as well as a Tourist Information Centre in Seahouses car park. Other activities include crazy golf, amusements, boat trips to the Farne Islands, watersports (at Beadnell beach), Ocean Club leisure centre.

All central heating, full Wifi, welcome pack, toiletries, linens and towels are included in the cost of your holiday. Your booking is confirmed on receipt of the deposit (which is non refundable) and Key Details are sent to guests. Changeover day is Saturday, arrival from 3pm and departure at 10am. If you have any special requirements we will do our best to accommodate and are always happy to help guests with any questions about the local area.
