The property is a stone built house dating from 1850. As well as being a residential property it has also been previously used as a cafe and an art gallery. It has been extensively renovated in the last three years into a light airy and fully equipped home. Accommodation comprises of a lounge with access from the courtyard garden at the front, a cloakroom and WC, a dining area and kitchen on the ground floor. The master bedroom, rear street entrance and shower room / WC are on the first floor and a second bedroom and mezzanine bedroom are on the second floor. The property does have steep and narrow stairs unsuitable for those with mobility issues.
About the Owner
We are two retired police officers currently living and working in the UK. We have two teenage girls and intend to move to the area when they have completed their education.

“We bought this property having fallen in love with the area. La Redorte is a small but lively village with the advantage of being situated between the historic city of Carcassonne (20mins) and Narbonne and the coast (30-40mins). It also has a nearby swimming lake (10mins) and the calm and peaceful Canal du Midi meanders through the bottom of the village.As one of the Minevois villages La Redorte is surrounded by grapevines.”
Activity and Interests
The region is serviced by no less than five regional airports of which Toulouse is the largest approximately 83 miles away.
The others are Carcassonne (22 miles), Bezier (31 miles), Perpignan (58 miles) and Montpellier (78 miles).
The medieval city of Carcassonne is 17 miles from the house.
The Roman city of Narbonne is 20 miles away and the Mediterranean beach a further 11 miles.
The village has an excellent boulangerie, two butchers and a supermarket and of course the beautiful Canal Du Midi running through the bottom of it. Approximately 10 minutes drive away is the large freshwater swimming lake of Lac du Jouares.
