Beach Retreat in Mawgan Porth, Cornwall, England - Great Location Near The Sea And Local Shops Nearby

Beach Retreat is a lovely home sleeping 5. Set alongside the dunes with quick access to the beautiful sandy beach at Mawgan Porth its a great little holiday home, one you will want to return to time and time again.

The patio with outdoor furniture provides a great place to relax in the sun and now a new balcony off the main bedroom gives the option of sitting out above the beach on your own private terrace with stunning views to the sea. A bbq is provided for dining in the fresh air or how about just chilling on the new balcony with a glass of wine watching the sun go down – what could be nicer?

The house inside has been set up for a family holiday. The cheerful lounge area has books and games for all ages and has plenty of seating for 5 including room to spread out on the 2 sofas. There is also a TV/DVD should you wish to watch your favourite film. Please note the property doesn't have Wi-Fi.

The well-equipped kitchen is all-electric, and includes table and chairs, washing machine, fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, plentiful crockery, glassware, cutlery etc. Everything you need to self cater comfortably.

There is a main bedroom with double bed and a direct view of the bay and beach plus the newly added balcony providing even better views. The second bedroom has bunk beds and a single bed. The bathroom was refitted in 2012 and has a bath with shower over, basin and wc.

Mawgan Porth is a particular favourite for families and surfers alike with its large sandy beach fringed by interesting caves and rock pools. There are cafes and ice cream stands and a selection of shops selling buckets and spades and hiring wet suits.

It is also ideal for coastal walking – while all the rest of Cornwall’s attractions are within an easy day or half-day out by car.

Nearby Watergate Bay is just two miles down the coastal path – a popular location for action sports and host to Jamie Oliver’s restaurant Fifteen. Bedruthan Steps, a spectacular beach with amazing rock formations is also just up the coast and there you can find a National Trust cafe with welcoming refreshments and that all important Cornish cream tea.

Locally the property is ideally placed for the shops, cafes, a pub-restaurant and take-away in Mawgan Porth. All only a short stroll down the road so there’s no need to get in the car. To discover more of Cornwall only 2 miles inland is the pretty village of St Mawgan with its ancient church, tea room and craft shop amongst its attractions.

About the Owner

Hello, I run a holiday company called Cornish Seaview Cottages which advertises cottages in Cornwall. Having renovated a number of properties in Cornwall and then used them as holiday lettings, I decided to purchase a shell of a house and barn and build a holiday property in France which has had very favorable feedback. We now have a few more properties in France and our Cornish properties are also growing in number. As a small friendly company we have many loyal customers who enjoy staying in our properties and return year after year. We now look forward to welcoming you.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My husband and I stayed at Beach Retreat in May and we were lucky enough to have warm, sunny weather. Beach Retreat is right next to the beach, you just have to walk out of the garden and you are on the sand dunes. In the evening you can climb up to the dunes and watch the surfers as the sun sets. We will definitely return as soon as we can.

WONDERFUL STAY

  • 5 of 5

We booked this Home on the Photos and write up. We thought it looked too good to be true so was overjoyed when we got there and found it was everything that was shown and said. We had a wonderful stay and it was very relaxing. Mawgan Porth is a lovely place to stay, beach is great and flat with soft sand ideal for Children. The House had everything that you need (Home from Home) lots of equipment for beach, Belly Boards,Buckets, Spades etc. I don't think anybody could regret staying there. We have already booked for October.
