Harbourside Cottage in Charlestown, Nr. Fowey, Cornwall, England - In The Heart Of Charlestown, Beach At The End Of The Road

Large renovated luxury cottage in the heart of Charlestown village on the South Coast of Cornwall. If they are in port there are wonderful views of tall ships moored in the dock below from your lounge window. Comfortable furnishings, crisp white bed linen, thick stone walls and fires make this cottage cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. Three double bedrooms on the ground floor, with king size beds. Two of the bedrooms can accommodate a baby or toddler and one has an en suite shower room. In addition on this floor there are is a good sized bathroom. On the first floor there is a large lounge with gas fire and window seats from which to gaze out over the harbour. Fully equipped contemporary kitchen and dining space which can seat every one. The kitchen is stocked with all the crockery and glasses you need to cater for large meals. The cottage’s private garden has a spacious lawn plus a patio with table, chairs and a barbecue. A special Simply Time in Cornwall welcome pack is also included. The local area is awash with great places to eat out or stroll across Charlestown Harbour to the Pier House or the Rashleigh to enjoy a local pint.

We have just spent a wonderful week at the Harbourside cottage. The cottage is extremely well equipped and we wanted for nothing. It was very clean, with plenty of space for 5 people. The location is perfect, in the picturesque, historical village of Charlestown. Sitting at the picture windows at the front of the house and watching village life go by was a highlight. We were very lucky as the tall ships were docked during our stay. Instructions prior to our stay were comprehensive and we greatly appreciated the welcome basket of goodies. I can highly recommend a stay at Harbourside.

Notes on accommodation: Parking available on Quay Road, just past the cottage and a car park within 3 minutes walk. Outside: Another highlight of Harbourside Cottage is the large sheltered garden – the perfect space for kids to let off steam or for you to enjoy a spot of lazy sunbathing. As the sun sets to the west on a summers evening it is also perfectly positioned for sundowners and a barbecue. The cottage’s private garden has a spacious lawn plus a patio with table and chairs. Cleaning / Towels / Linen : Cleaning, towels, bedlinen and tea towels included. You will need to bring beach towels and if needed cot linen for a baby.

The beach is at the end of Quay Road moments from the cottage front door!

Ready Money beach Fowey is sandy with a swimming platform and ice cream van! 20 mins drive. Polkerris beach -sandy with pub, restaurant and cafe. Water sports available from the beach, great for swimming. 15min drive & short walk from car park.

Par beach-a long sandy beach great for a walk. 15 min drive.

Polridmouth featured in Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca, 30 mins along the coastal footpath from Fowey

Travel:

Buses go from Charlestown to St Austell where you can get connecting buses to other areas of Cornwall.

The mainline train service between Penzance and London Paddington stops at St Austell. Please note advanced booking is advised for taxis.

Newquay airport is 40 mins drive. Exeter airport is 80 min drive. Both Newquay and Exeter airport offer hire car service

St Ives 1 hours drive

Further Details:

There are three pubs in Charlestown, along with several cafe's, restaurants and two ice cream shops!!

Large Supermarkets are less than 1 mile away.

Truro - Cornwall's only city is a 45 min drive.

Both the Eden Project and Heligan Gardens are close to the house and worth a visit.

The house is on the South West Coastal footpath - making it perfect for walkers.

Self hire motor boats, skippered fishing boats, sailing, canoeing are all available in Fowey and lots of different eating and drinking establishments.
