About the Owner

The Entwistle family live close to the property on a working farm. Mrs Entwistle runs Higher Lee and is always available for any queries you may have. She has lived in the area for over forty years and has extensive knowledge and affection for this beautiful undiscovered part of England.

This family house was Mrs Entwistles parent's home for over thirty years and we are delighted to offer it now as a rental property. It has been rented out for over ten years and the majority of people who have stayed at Higher Lee will always return.

A thirty minute drive from the coast


Manchester airport is 1 hour away, Lancaster station is 20 mins but the use of a car is essential as location is remote


Lancaster is the nearest town (8 miles away) and has a wide range of shops, restaurants, banks and supermarkets. There are several highly recommended pubs in the area including the Inn at Whitewell. The house is nestled in the Trough of Bowland which is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is only a 45 minute drive from the Lake District.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Friday but during certain times of the year this can be flexible. Arrival should be after 4pm and departure is at 10am.

Notes on prices:
Weekend: Friday - Sunday prices are as follows: High Season: £800, Mid Season: £650, Low Season: £500
Mid Week: Monday - Thursday prices are as follows: High Season: £800, Mid Season: £650, Low Season: £500

Sadly due to increased electricity costs, electricity usage is charged at the current tariff and readings are taken at check in and check out and settled on departure. Wood and coal are all included in the fee.
