House in Es Grau, Menorca, Balearic Islands - House In Es Grau, Sleeps 4 Adults Comfortably And Has The Ability To Sleep Two Children

Our home in Es Grau was purchased by us 12 years ago and during this time we have renovated the property to a very high standard. The work included 2 new bedrooms, a new kitchen, 3 new shower rooms, utility room with washer dryer and extra fridge freezer, garage with electric garage door, air conditioning/warm air heating and the creation of a large roof terrace with wonderful views over the bay and village. The house sleeps 4 adults comfortably and has the ability to sleep two children on foldable beds. We think of Es Grau as the most perfect location on the island, and returning guests have often described it as Paradise; we tend to agree with them. Menorca is the smallest of the Balearic islands and remains greener throughout the year. The capital Mahon has a good selection of quality shops with local markets on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. The port area is particularly interesting with many Super Yachts anchored along the port road, shops, restaurants and bars abound, this is a lovely area to spend the evenings. There are many sporting activities on the Island which include Golf, Sailing, Diving and Tennis, and in the village kayaking instruction and rental is available.

My wife and I purchased our home in Es Grau, Menorca in 1998, when we retired in 2010 we decided to rent our home to people outside family and friends, with excellent success.

We have just spent a very restful two weeks staying at this homely villa in Es Grau.

We found the area to be very unspoilt and the beach, which is right on your doorstep, very safe and perfect for swimming and boating.

The owners very kindly let you use their very nice car and small boat, which we found added a new dimension to our stay. Mahon is so close and easy to get to, parking near the marina was easy and it was very interesting to walk along the port and see all the yachts and ferries in the harbour.

The villa is well furnished and the three bathrooms nicely done. The roof terrace was perfect to watch the sun come up over breakfast and sunset over supper.

Kitchen is supplied with all you need and it's handy having an extra fridge /freezer downstairs in the laundry room.

The bedrooms are also well furnished, comfortable beds and it's great having the aircons in the bedrooms and lounge. It's also really nice to have the English TV chanels and wifi. Take some extra DVDs if you fancy a movie night - microwave in the kitchen for the popcorn lovers!

There are three nice bars/cafe and one restaurant- right on the water. One supermercat! Love that word ! Ie supermarket - which does fresh baguettes etc everyday.and supplies the basics - the rest you just need to pop into Mahon, if you look carefully you will find some really good supermarkets / shopping centres and even Lidl!

If your looking for night life and hotels - you will not find them here at EsGrau - thank God!

The locals have kept it natural and a haven of peace !

Menorca is a beautiful island and Es Grau is the perfect location, it was the location which influenced us most when we purchased. It is a small, pretty fishing village, which has safe bathing, a sandy beach and good facilities which include a restaurant on the water, a beach bar, Spanish restaurant and bar, a Tapas bar on the harbour and a Spar convenience store it ticked all the boxes for us when we purchase our home

Menorca, in the Balearic Islands, is a peaceful, unique natural oasis, packed with contrasts to discover. It is a real paradise, washed by the Mediterranean Sea, that will seduce you with its harmony and diversity.

You can go sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and, of course, scuba diving here. Minorca's stunning sea bed has been a favourite amongst diving enthusiasts for decades. The island transmits a sense of calm, largely on account of its valuable countryside. Minorca has the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve designation and a wealth of flora, fauna and landscapes.

Outings on foot, by bike or on horseback, on the marked trails and routes, are a good way to get to know these beautiful surroundings. Most outstanding is the S'Albufera d'Es Grau Nature Reserve, a refuge for many aquatic and migratory birds, which is also one of southern Europe's most important wetland areas.


The island has 216 km of highly varied coastline, from the rugged shores and reddish beaches of the north, to the gentle relief of the south, with golden sandy coves. There are many different options to enjoy sun and sea, whether on broad sandy beaches or at small coves surrounded by pine groves. They all have one thing in common, however: clean, crystal clear waters.

There is a good choice of restaurants, bars and a Spar convenience store. Our clients also have the use of our car and dinghy with a Honda outboard engine The views of the beach and bay from the roof terrace are fabulous, a great place to enjoy a gin and tonic and watch the sun set.
