Mouls Island barn is Located in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty on the North Cornish coast overlooking Port Quin bay and 5 mins from Port Isaac and 10 mins from Polzeath beach.

Our new barn conversion for 2014 "Mouls Island" barn is named after the Island out in the bay that is visible from the upstairs lounge. The barn is traditional cornish stone and slate in appearance and is finished with a rustic but modern look inside with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 lounges and great views all around.

Mouls Island barn is just a short walk down to Port Quin, which if you know it you will love already and if you don't you are in for a real treat! Port Quin and the surrounding bays are one of the few hidden gems left on the North Cornish coast. We are very close to Port Isaac and Polzeath but far enough away for you to have lots of space, parking and peace and quiet. There is a footpath running right past the property which links on to the South west coast path or just stroll down the road and follow your nose to the sea!

Mouls Island barn has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and two lounges.

There is free WIFI, 42 inch Smart TV and a blue tooth music system.

The main living area is a big room up stairs which really makes the most of the great views, here there is a large kitchen at one end leading through the dinning area into the lounge at the end nearest the sea.

There are two bedrooms on the groundfloor in the west wing of the building one is a kingsize bedroom with ensuite and the other is a twin room or super kingsize double depending on your preference. There is also the main bathroom just opposite this bedroom.

Up stairs in the east wing of the building there are two King size ensuite bedrooms. Down stairs in the east wing of the building there is a twin or Super king size bedroom depending on your group preference. This bedroom also has an adjoing bathroom.

The downstairs Snug lounge is nice and cosy and great if you want some space to relax away from the other lounge.

I am Sam Williams and i run the holiday lettings at Port Quin Farm Holidays. I am 34 and live on the farm with my girlfriend. My Dad John and brother Mark run the farm and i help them out at busy times in the summer and for most of the Winter. I also run Cornish Coast Adventures in the summer season which offers Sea kayaking trips and Coasteering sessions along the local coastline. i am a keen surfer and have been a crew member of the Port Isaac lifeboat for nearly ten years.

Excellent Barn, would definitely book here again. Lovely & clean as well as spacious. Kids loved the extra TV, snug room which meant the adults could rest & watch the sun go down in peace. We were greeted by Sam & shown around, he also explained about the history of the barn & his family. It was great to have them so close in case anything happened (my kids noticed a sheep had got into a field so Sam came to the rescue in his lambulance) we even got offered to have a guided tour around but unfortunately didn't have time, perhaps next time!?! Will recommend to friends.

WOW! absolute luxury.

Absolutely stunning barn. We also booked courtyard cottage aswell to cater for our family holiday for 14. Everything you could poss need is there. From crisp linnen on beds to under floor heating . Picture window to watch Sunset with glass of wine. Beautuful coastal area with so much to do rain or shine. Owners close by if needed and so welcoming and friendly. Couldn't find anything negative. Will definately be returning with our ever growing family. Thank you Sam and family for sharing this stunning barn alowing us to have such wonderful holidays.

High quality, great value and superb location

I can't believe we found this beautiful gem! Mouls island barn is in a fabulous location, a mile walk to the bay/farm shop, a quick jump in the car to some amazing beaches. The owners are fantastic, they kept in regular contact with me and promptly replied to any questions I had. The views from the barn were exquisite. The location was so peaceful. The barn itself was fully equipped, with everything we required (and more!). If I could go back tomorrow I would. The owners also offer water activities, which if we had more spare time I would have loved to of done. My only concern is if too many people know about this place, there won't be any availability next time i want to come! You will not be disappointed ;-)

Great accommodation

The barn was perfect for a large group- we were 4 couples but also would be perfect for families. Great to have all bedrooms ensuite with fantastic showers and really comfortable beds. The upstairs living area is brilliant with great views and a huge table for relaxed meals. We found everything immaculate. There is so much to do in the area- great walks , beaches and restaurants. A great find!

Tasteful barn conversion in beautiful spot

A group of us stayed for a week in mid March and everyone agreed it was a clean, warm, well equipped and quality barn conversion. We were lucky to have sunny weather and enjoyed watching the sun setting over the fields. The location is fairly remote, with only one hotel nearly (not yet open for the season) but we knew of this in advance and shopped accordingly. The owners were welcoming and helpful.

Fabulous holiday home

Mouls Island Barn really couldn't be better! It is comfortable, spacious, attractively designed and furnished and spotlessly clean. The surrounding area is peaceful and the views are beautiful. Sam was really helpful, both at the time of booking and while we were there.

Trevathan Farm Shop and Restaurant is just 3 minutes away by car, in St. Endellion, very handy for coffee, meals and essential groceries. There is a very large play area outside for children. We had a great meal out at the St Kew Inn nearby, recommended by Sam. Port Gaverne put on a splendid evening of bonfire and fireworks on the beach, with hog roast provided by the Port Gaverne Hotel.

We would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay there again next time we visit Cornwall.

Gem of a place

Our party was 6 Adults and 4 children and the property was large enough (also with super bathroom facilities) to enable us all to both mix plus have our "own space".

Indeed there is one bedroom with in addition to it's own toilet facilities also has a separate lounge, ideal for private peace and quiet !

The accommodation is fitted out to a very high specification and indeed makes a holiday very"special".

Property clean and well maintained and whilst the listing description accurate perhaps doesn't detail how good it truly is !

It is highly recommended.

We were visiting for a family wedding and as a result didn't have time for lengthy visits to surrounding places. However, Port Isaac was wonderful (nice walk over the fields from the accommodation) and we also had a lovely lunch at The Rock .

We will return at the first opportunity !

Scarrabine farm which Mouls Island barn is a part of has been in our family for well over 100 years and is now run by the third and fourth generation of the Williams family. The great thing about this little piece of Cornwall is that we are right in the middle of two great holiday locations Port Isaac and Polzeath but we are hidden away in the often undiscovered little gem that is Port Quin. it is a nice and quiet spot and very often you can be the only one strolling down the lane for your morning swim in the natural harbour or your walk along the coast path!

From the Owner

Scarrabine farmhouse and Mouls Island barn are situated In a unique location just above Port Quin harbour on the North Cornwall coast. Port Quin is hidden away on the small coast road (that most people miss out) between Port Isaac and Polzeath. This means you can dip into the busier beaches and tourist attractions or you can totally avoid them in our peaceful and quiet location. Our working 400 acre sheep and beef farm surrounds the cottages so if you want to come and have a look at the animals or even lend a hand you are more than welcome. All of the properties are 1/2 a mile away from the modern farm buildings so that if you arn't so keen on the farm and would rather relax or hit the beach its no problem! We also run guided kayak trips from Port Quin harbour in the Summer months.

Outside: There is a lawn and granite chipping yard in front of the property which is enclosed with a small gate leading to the main car park and a large lawned area with some swings and several benches to enjoy the amazing sunsets. There is a nice little sun trap accessed by the master bedroom for that evening G and T or that morning coffee!
