A fabulous House
We had a fantastic three night visit and enjoyed every minute. The house has many features and is maintained to a very high standard. The beds were all extremely comfortable and although it was cold outside the house was lovely and warm. We will definitely want to return, hopefully in spring or summer to enjoy more outdoor time, in and around Loch Awe. Many thanks to Scott our host who was very helpful and communicative, always answering calls, messages and emails promptly.

Achnasmeoroch
A splendid Victorian villa in superb grounds & very quiet. Facilities & activities provided are excellent. Another bath would be good.. Bunk beds not terribly safe for our 8 year old & 6 year old, we had to barricade the gap. Loads of space for separate activities & the games room excellent for the odd showers. All in all, my daughters, sons in law, husband & granddaughters all said they would return! It is obviously a loved holiday home, not just a holiday let.

Perfect
The property was fantastic, and the views are incredible. Scott was kind enough to let us have our wedding here and it was the perfect intimate setting for us. The facilities are great and there is plenty to do to keep occupied. We will definitely return in the future.

In awe at Loch Awe!
We had an amazing time at Achnasmeorach House. It exceeded our expectations and had everything we needed for our group weekend away. We loved the tub, views, games room, dining room, garden and so much more. Scott was very friendly and easy to deal with. We plan on returning soon!

Beautiful Holiday Home!
This is not just a holiday house, but has a great sense of home. We all loved it for that, as it isnt always easy to keep everyone happy all at once! The layout is fabulous, and gives a great sense of space, but cosy at the same time. There is something for everyone here, and well thought out with everyone in mind. We loved it, the views, the peace and quite, and down at the jetty, where you can fish, go kayaking, canoeing, and much more, or just sit by the loch side and enjoy the views. The owners couldn't be more helpful and pleasant, going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We liked it so much we would love to return! Thank you for such an enjoyable time!

My wife and I live in central Edinburgh with our 6 'twenty something' year old children. We have owned the house for almost 20 years now and over the years have enjoyed many happy holidays and short breaks/long weekends with family and friends at this beautiful loch side house. Achnasmeorach House is where we 'get away from it all' and where we chill........and all within a minutes walk of the shore and 12 minutes walk of one of the best Gastro Pubs in the Western Highlands of Scotland, the Kilchrenan Inn which we also own and which has recently undergone a major refurbishment. The house has everything you could expect of a family home and is a real 'home from home'. The reviews from pervious guests say it all really.

Why they chose this property

The house enjoys an exceptional loch side position with its own private shoreline, jetty, boathouse, slipway and 7 seater hot tub! Surrounded by the dramatic and wonderful scenery of Argyll with magnificent Ben Cruachan as a backdrop and stunning views across Loch Awe, this Victorian house is furnished to an extremely high standard in a contemporary style and offers everything required to create a relaxing and memorable short break or vacation. We are also within walking distance of one of the best pub/restaurants in the West Highlands, which reopened on October 2016 following it's first major refurbishment in over 40 years! The house has the space and facilities for all age groups. With plenty of living space, a wonderful large garden and a unique location making it perfect for special occasions, memorable gatherings and short breaks for groups of family or friends. Over the past few years we have invested heavily in the house making it, in our opinion, one of.........if not the most luxurious of Scottish holiday homes currently available on the market. The Drawing Room, Family TV Room and The Games Cabin have both been upgraded only this past year. You will not be disappointed.

What makes this property unique

The stunning views, the shoreline and the magnificent scenery are what make the situation of this house truly unique. On the one hand it is in a relatively remote location offering peace and quiet, however the house is only a short walk from the village centre and the newly refurbished Kilchrenan Inn, a unique gastro pub with over 50 covers plus a wonderful bar fully stocked with your favourite Scottish Gins and Whiskies. The house is also close by the Taychreggan Hotel which offers a 2 AA Rosette dining experience. The Ardenasaig Hotel, which offers a 3 AA Rosette dining experience is only a 5 minute drive away. The nearest village, Taynuilt has a train station, a 9 hole golf course, Post Office, tea room, Taynuilt Inn (excellent restaurant/pub 2AA), grocers and butchers is a 15 minute drive. The nearest main town, Oban has great shops including a Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, FatFace, Marks & Spencers Food, Homebase, Argos, New Look, Boots, Specsavers, Waterstones Books, WH Smith, Costa Coffee, Wetherspoons plus many other local shops and restaurants such as GelatoBurger, Cuan Mhor, La Piazza, FishHouse, Ee-usk, Coast and Etive to name but a few. The town also boasts the Oban Distillery, a harbour, the main Ferry terminal to the inner and outer Hebridean Islands, a train station, swimming pool, a micro brewery, and an 18 hole golf course. Oban is also has some amazing restaurants and calls itself the Sea Food Capital of Scotland. Oban airport is less than half an hours drive away giving quick and inexpensive access by plane to many of the inner and outer Hebridean Islands.
