Lovely spot in the heart of Swaledale

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely two weeks in Bridge View. The cottage was very conveniently situated with good parking. It is at the start of many good walks and just opposite a friendly pub, and very close to a cafe. The cottage is comfy with 2 king sized bedrooms and one twin. There is a small front garden with table and chairs which is sunny in the morning. We had an incredibly restful and relaxing holiday. There are short strolls through lovely meadows to the river, where we sat and bird watched and had a picnic.

We had a slight problem with the boiler but found Judith, the manager, and Chris the owner very helpful and communicative, so we werent inconvenienced by it.

Perfect for a girls weekend away

  • 4 of 5

We booked the cottage to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday, We were a group of 5 although the cottage sleeps 6.

Gunnerside is in a beautiful part of the Dales. We arrived just in time for the fish & chip van which stops directly outside the cottage. Bonus! Friday night supper all sorted. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. Nice kitchen and bathrooms, and comfortable beds. It was perfect for us. Ideally placed for walking, visiting the surrounding area and a stone's throw from the local pub. Cafe/bistro very close by also.

Towels not provided so take your own or request them in advance.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Chris.

A nice cosy, comfy cottage! Perfect weekend away.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is in a brilliant location and itself was a really nice cottage. Plenty of room for four of us and well equipped with everything we needed. Chris the owner was very, very helpful and available to speak to whenever we needed

There is a really nice friendly pub only 10 seconds walk from the cottage and also plenty to do in the surrounding area.

We will definitely be staying here again in the near future.

A massive thankyou to Chris for a great weekend!

Christmas Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday in this well equipped, beautifully warm cottage. The cottage was clean and perfectly situated, just opposite the local pub. Great walking is available from the door of the cottage. We loved our stay despite the heavy rain and floods:)

Fantastic cottage great value for money

  • 5 of 5

Bridge View is cosy, yet spacious and has great facilities. We spent a wonderful new year here and we were all very comfortable (4 adults and a toddler). The beds (including travel cot) were very comfortable and both bathrooms very spacious. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved the dining area as it made the room a really sociable space. The only thing which would have been great was a dishwasher but no big deal. The area was a haven for walking straight from the doorstep and the village pub literally within a minutes walk was really friendly serving tasty food with a great ale and wine selection. Chris the owner was incredibly helpful. We have already recommended this cottage to friends and are already looking at dates to return

So we can't say much better than that! Thanks Chris and we wish you heaps of good luck with the cottage. Georgie and family.

Location

From the Owner

I bought Bridge View a few years ago when it was in a pretty poor and neglected state. I have completely renovated it and it is now a real home from home. I adore the Yorkshire Dales and Swaledale is my favourite. When researching my family tree, I discovered that all my great grandparents were from the area so I figure Swaledale must be in my DNA!
