About Helen Barrett

Anthony & Helen moved to France in 2011 from Hertfordshire in the UK. Since moving to Nanteuil Auriac de Bourzac we have been working full time to renovate our property. We live the other side of a small country lane that separates the barn and farmhouse gites so that our guests can enjoy their own privacy, but which also means we are on hand for any help if needed.

Helen Barrett purchased this barn in 2011

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to explore this part of France more so decided to stay again with Tony & Helen. I can report that their standards have not dropped from last year and still 5*

The gite is so relaxing and well equipped that it just felt like home even taking into account a disastrous car breakdown on the 2nd day of our stay and Tony came to the rescue!

Highly recommended.

We stayed here with two of our friends for a week. We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The views are picturesque, and we often fell asleep in the hammocks looking out at the rolling hills of sunflowers. The gite is clean, wonderfully maintained and comfortable, will a real armhouse feel. We used the barbeque everyday, and Sat outside on the veranda for dinner every evening. The garden is beautiful. Helen and Tony were wonderful hosts (we found a stocked fridge on arrival!) Thoroughly recommended.

Perfect Holiday

  • 5 of 5

It's not often that we return from a holiday and have no words of criticism, there is usually something that could have made a property a little bit better but it is not so in this case. Helen and Tony have thought of everything and the barn is brilliantly well equipped and beautifully decorated. It is incredibly spacious and the garden is wonderful with picture postcard pretty views in every direction. We will miss the tranquility, hospitality and sunshine. We'll miss the local Boulangerie, the markets and restaurants and to be honest it was an effort to tear ourselves away from the property as it was so comfortable. We had a fantastic holiday and would like to say a very big thank you. This place is wonderful, a real find. Thank you again.
