Very spacious villa, amazing views!!!

This is a beautiful part of Northern Spain and we had a fabulous holiday in Tamariu this year. The villa is very spacious, and importantly for us, the area is peaceful, with very little traffic. It is well equipped and the layout worked well for our family - everyone had their own space. It was spotless when we arrived, and Jayne, the local representative, was extremely helpful. We BBQ'd the local seafood, enjoyed the beautiful pool (which has full sun, all day), and ate dinner whilst enjoying the spectacular views. There are many beaches, all within easy distance - pretty coves, and the larger sandy beaches out towards Pals. We also highly recommend the restaurants down at Tamariu, in Llafranc and also Begur. If you have teenagers, note that the WIFI signal is excellent !!

We have booked for next year, and we are all really looking forward to our holiday.

A View to Die For!

We have just had a fantastic 2 weeks stay in Tamariu and have already booked to return next year. The setting of the house at the top of a winding road overlooking the bay is spectacular and the photo's simply can't do it justice. The house itself is spacious and comfortable and set over 3 levels, and the pool was the perfect size for all 6 of us (2 adults and 4 children from 20 to 6 years). Tamariu and the surrounding area is stunning and with Girona (50 minute drive) and Barcelona (1 hr 30 minutes) within distance there is plenty to do. On down days we simply sat on the terrace and admired the amazing view and swam in the pool. Jane was lovely and helpful on arrival and Gail is a pleasure to deal with and very quick to respond to any questions.

Fabulous place, great family holiday had by all

What a lovely place ! We had a fabulous family holiday with our two boys aged four and one and Grandma. The beauty about the house being over 3 floors is it offers privacy, Mum had her own floor inclusive of bath room. We made good use of the outside BBQ , great having a washing machine. dish washer, Apple TV , Wifi and microwave to use. The pool is fabulous and got used every day, with strict baggage allowance the fact all the towels were provided helped massively ! Views are amazing. Gail is a pleasure to deal with and help full at every point - a wooden cot with bed linen and a high chair were provided for our stay - thank you we will defiantly be booking again 😀😀

We spent a very enjoyable week at this villa. The views are fabulous and the villa quite spacious. As mentioned by the last reviewer, the kitchen and bathrooms could do with updating. The owners now leave a welcome pack which is useful for anyone arriving late. Communication with the owner was very good and the local agent Jayne was helpful.

Spacious villa with amazing viewd

High above Tamariu stands this spacious villa with views to die for. All clean but kitchen and bathrooms need updating. The villa makes good use of the views with large terraces on 2 floors. Great pool also. Thoroughly recommend it and owner Gail very helpful

Lovely holiday home

We enjoyed a fabulous 10 day holiday at this homely villa/house. The house is very traditional and a wonderful base to explore the beautiful Northern Costa brava. A car really is essential as the house is at the top of a very steep road and please note that parking in these areas can be a nightmare. The views from the terrace are spectacular and evenings on the balcony are superb. Visitors with small children should note the steep sides to pool area, although was not a problem for us. The beds were comfortable and fans were ok. The villa provided everything we needed during our stay. One thing we would recommend is the provision of a welcome pack as we arrived quite late and struggled to locate an open shop for basic supplies.

Our parents had a holiday home in Spain for over 50 years. When they retired out here in the late 80's they wanted some where larger, more homely and relaxing to live in. They moved here in the 90's and made it their home. We too love the house and it's amazing location

Special interest holidays:

CYCLING: This is a great area for both mountain biking and road cycling. If you want to bring your own bikes we have a secure lock up. GPX routes available!

WALKING: There are many, spectacular, marked, coastal walks from the front door!

TENNIS: There are several private clubs nearby who accept visitors.

SCUBA DIVING: Is available in Tamariu (4 mins)

KAYAK: Rental is available at Tamariu, Llafranc and several other beaches

WIND SURFING: Pals (15mins)

DINGHY / CATAMARAN HIRE: Pals (15mins)

Coast/Beach:

Aigua Blava, Aigua Gelida & Tamariu beaches are all within a 5 minute drive. You can walk to Aigua Gelida in 15mins.

Sa Tuna, Sa Rierra, Pals, Callela are all within a 20 minute drive.

The coast line and beaches in this area are stunning. The in-land restaurants are charming and very reasonable.

Travel:

45 minutes from Girona airport. 1 hour 35 from Barcelona.

  • Notes on accommodation: The house was purchased new by our parents nearly 30 years ago. It's been a happy family home enjoyed by three generations. Now we hope others will enjoy it's wonderful location too. We refurbished all but the bathrooms & kitchen in June 2014. Our aim was to retain it's homely and traditional feel, which we hope you'll like. As mentioned in a few of the reveiws the bathrooms and kitchens, while very functionable could do with updating but this is reflected in the rental price Spanish summers are perfect for outdoor living and this house excels at that. Outside: The house sits on a large hillside plot. In front of the house there are 2 terraces. The upper is a relaxing area with a dining patio, built in BBQ and loungers. The lower level houses the 8 x 4 meter pool with more loungers. And beneath this there is a large wooded area belonging to the house. There is 1 off road parking space & room for 2 additional cars on the road.
