Cottage in Thwaite, Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales, England - Cottage In Tiny Village With Private South Facing Terrace

Joiner's Cottage is a lovely home from home, ideal for family holidays or romantic break. Furnished with an eye to comfort, the house is roomy yet cosy, with a multi-fuel stove in the living room to supplement the electric heating (all coal included). Bedroom 1 is a south-facing double, with a further two twin bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 altogether. There is a family bathroom upstairs and shower/utility room downstairs, along with a dining kitchen.

The terrace is a real sun trap, with garden furniture where guests can sit and relax after a day's walking. There are plenty of walks nearby, many direct from the door and there is the Kearton Country Hotel in the village, where guests can have a coffee or a meal. Joiner's Cottage is dog-friendly (NO CHARGE FOR DOGS), with free wifi, and an ideal cottage for a wonderful holiday in beautiful Swaledale! Friday to Friday bookings. Short breaks are welcome, if we can fit them in, and we accept 2 nt bookings, £15 less than 3 nt price.

Utility Room: Iron/ironing board, utility sink, washing machine, tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bedlinen, towels and tea towels are included. Property is professionally cleaned before every booking. All electric and coal for heating is included.

A great holiday venue for walkers

We love Swaledale for walking and generally relaxing. The cottage was ideal for a family, lovely and clean and the best equipt kitchen I have ever had on holiday. Our grandchildren loved it, you need to enjoy the countryside for this venue but if you do it is ideal.

Muker, crafts/gallery/pub, 1 mile. Low Row, gastro pub Punch Bowl Inn and Hazel Brow Organic Farm, 5 miles. Reeth, pubs/bistro/tearooms/shops (logs/sticks)/garage/post office, 11 miles. Richmond, larger town, 23 miles. Leyburn, smaller town, 20 miles. Hawes, smaller town, 6 miles. Barnard Castle, larger town (good antique shops), 21 miles. Catterick Garrison (large 24 hr Tesco's), 22 miles.

Ghyllfoot Tearoom, Gunnerside, is also a bistro Wed and Sat evenings (booking needed), and does takeaway curry Mon evenings. Mobile fish and chip van Friday evenings; approx 8.15pm in Thwaite (sometimes later in summer when there are lots of visitors!). Farmer's Arms pub in Muker, dogs welcome. Swaledale Woollens, Muker. Muker Village Shop and Tearoom in Muker. Hazel Brow Organic Farm, Low Row. Punch Bowl Inn, Low Row.

Booking Notes:
A 2 person 10% discount (one bedroom) is available during non-peak weeks. Week bookings are Fri to Fri, short breaks are welcome all year round. If booking more than 8 weeks in advance, a non-refundable deposit of £90 is payable. If within 8 weeks, or for a short break, full amount payable on booking. 3 night short breaks are 75% of week price, 2 nights are £15 less than 3 night price. Festive bookings this year are from Saturday to Saturday ie 20 - 27 Dec, 27 Dec - 3 Jan

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Friday, depart by 10am, arrive 3pm (4pm in peak weeks). Arrival dates may be flexible in non-peak times, contact Stephen to ask.

Notes on prices:
3 night short breaks are 75% of the week price. Please contact Judith for prices of short breaks of different lengths (please note, although we accept 2 nt breaks, they are only £15 less than the 3 night price).
