About sue holman

I am Sue Holman Married with 3 children who all still live at home our two boys both work in our family business which is based on the farm. Our daughter is in the last year of school, they have all enjoyed there growing up n this area and made many friends. As the family are now growing up we decided to convert our unused farm buildings and this is the first cottage completed to a standard that we would be happy to stay at.

sue holman purchased this cottage in 2001

Why sue holman chose East Riding of Yorkshire

We were close to this area and knew it quite well. It is in lovely quiet countryside but close to many main attractions and cities. The local area is a great place to fetch up a family

Comfortable and clean

  • 4 of 5

Although not the most picturesque of locations, the cottage was comfortable and clean enough for six of us, although a 16-year-old and the 8-year-old were slightly squished in the sofa bed. The cottage is well equipped and nicely furnished. There were a few bits in the fridge for us on arrival and some homemade cupcakes - thank you, Sue!

Enjoyable stay in Yorkshire countryside

  • 5 of 5

We had 3 days at Eastfield Farm which was in good distance to explore the city of York or the North Yorkshire moors. The cottage had everything needed for a family of five. It was a pity that we couldn't have stayed longer.

Warm welcoming space for family meet

  • 5 of 5

A warm, comfortable, well equipped cottage with enough space for six adults and a happy dog. We met for a family gathering nearby and had to decorated a cake which we were able to do in the well equipped kitchen. There was a spacious living space to gather and chat.

Beautiful little cottage for family of 4

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage like home from home. Has everything you need for a self catering break. It was immaculately clean and tidy. Sue greeted us and made us feel very welcome and gave us a welcome pack of food which was greatly appreciated. We took our dogs which was a bonus. We've stayed in places before that except dogs and they've been like a dog kennel - not Fox cottage.

All the family enjoyed the stay. Our 11 and 8 year old boys loved it and the Wii games. It was nice to have books, board games, bat and ball and separate room for the kids to watch TV or play on the Wii. We used the bbq outside as well as eating out. Allerthorpe water park is 1/2 a mile away where we enjoyed the pedalos and kayaking which we'd never done before. We visited Wilsthorpe beach less than 1 hr away that was dog friendly then fish and chips at Bridlington just up the road.

Overall a lovely stay and reasonably priced for August high season.

owl Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Immaculate cottage! A warm welcome with fresh homemade cakes and supplies, such as bread, eggs (from the farms chickens) milk, juice etc. We had a very comfortable stay here and my children enjoyed the basketball hoop! We would defiantly stay here again and would highly recommend anyone to stay. So much to see and do in and around York too.
