Apartment in Dobrota, Kotor Bay, Southern Coastal, Montenegro - Perfect Location Overlooking Kotor Bay And Five Minutes From The Waterfront

This Apartment is on the ground floor of a small block comprising only four flats, with a large terrace and its own private swimming pool. With fabulous views of Kotor Bay it is within minutes walk of the Fjord waterfront, a local supermarket and a variety of cafes and restaurants serving fresh local produce. Stylishly decorated it is well equipped for sunbathing, outdoor and indoor dining, is fully air conditioned and has its own parking. The medieval town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is only a 5 minute drive away or a beautiful 45 minute stroll along the waterfront.

About the Owner

My main home is in South Africa, but I travel a great deal. Montenegro was a wonderful discovery and I was fortunate enough to live and work there for a while, therefore this apartment is furnished and equipped like a home.

Originally graded in 2009 by the Montenegro Tourist Board as 5 Stars and is, I think, unique as the only apartment with its own private swimming pool [30 sq.m] set in its own lovely paved walled garden and Kotor Bay view terrace [150 Sq.M].

Friends and family have used the apartment regularly over the last few years so this is the first time I am renting it out; therefore any helpful feedback would be welcome!

Montenegro is such a beautiful place, with so much to offer, there really is something for everyone. You will, I know, enjoy your stay.

My Husband and I have just spent 2 most beautiful weeks in this Apartment.

The Apartment is situated in a very peaceful area, but not so far to get to the water-front by foot. It is very comfortable and well equipped. Much appreciated good aircon, a great kitchen to cook in, good BBQ outside, and a very good collection of DVDs to watch. A very "home from home" feeling. Everything is good quality and works! We spent a lot of our time there relaxing, dipping in and out of the wonderful pool and taking cold drinks from one of the 3 fridges!! - perfect. Would very much recommend staying here as a couple or with friends.

Quiet semi rural position with stunning fjord views of Kotor Bay, in a traditional Montenegrin neighbourhood that still has the old traditional values and ways of this lovely country and it's people. The waters edge is minutes away as are walks behind the apartment through flowering meadows under the mountains. Two apartments knocked into one give exceptional feeling of space and lightness, with two sets of sliding patio doors opening onto a large walled terrace and private pool, from open plan sitting room and kitchen/dining room. A great feeling of space and tranquility with lovely sea breezes. Very easy access by foot, car, taxi or bus to Kotor Old Town with it's churches, fascinating history, it's shops, markets and restaurants.

Activity and Interests


The water front is only a five minute walk (300m) from the apartment, where you can swim from one of the stone pontas. Alternatively there are a variety of beaches along the coastline and the waters of the Adriatic are very clean.


If you are traveling from the UK Montenegro Airlines flies direct from Gatwick to Tivat which is only 15 minutes away. Dubrovnik is 65kms, which will take approximately 1 1/2 hours and is a very pretty drive around the Fjord. A car is essential and there is a wide choice of car hire companies.


There is only one main road around the coastline, which makes everything very easy to find. The stunning town of Perast is 15 minutes away, Kotor will take 5 minutes, Budva 35 minutes and Tivat 15 minutes. Sveti Stefan is another must and will take approximately an hour to reach.

Further Details:

Dobrota has a small supermarket and bakery and there is a good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars along the waterfront. We particularly recommend the restaurant attached to the Hotel Forza at the bottom of the hill. If you love seafood this really is the place for you and, should you wish to eat in, there is a wonderful open market selling fresh fish and vegetables just outside the walls of Kotor Old Town.

With the Fjord on your doorstep you can sail, swim, fish or jet-ski. Walking and mountain biking are popular for the more energetic holidaymaker and Skadar Lake is the biggest bird reservation in Europe. For the more extreme sports you could try Tara Canyon, which is the second deepest gorge after the Grand Canyon.

Payment can be made in £'s or euros by cheque, bank transfer or credit card. A refundable deposit of £150 or 180 euros is payable to our meet and greet representative to cover possible damages.

This apartment has been finished in a different style to the average, with touches of Africa and artefacts from around the world. Highest quality solid oak kitchen, fittings, accessories/equipment even down to electric meat slicer [for all the delicious local cold meats available], and with sharp knives, for example, these are the little things that make a stay either tolerable or fantastic! Enamel steel bath, cotton sheets/down pillows and imported slate stone from South Africa sets off the kitchen, terraces, spacious shower and bathroom. Outside fridge for drinks. BBQ, huge larder fridge/freezer in addition to under counter fridge, picnic stuff and cool boxes, oodles of equipment and personal touches that make it not just stylish but very comfortable. A place to live in.
