About Tracy Watson

Silver Street Cottage was a huge renovation project...the type half way through you think, what have we done! When the dust had settled we remembered why we fell in love with it and its been enjoyed by ourselves and visitors since May 2014.

With a little one ourselves we have tried to make it as “family friendly” as possible with bits & pieces tucked away to make packing the car easier!

We are happy to answer any questions you have and will do all we can to make your stay as pleasurable and relaxing as we can.

Bye for now, Tracy & Damian

Why Tracy Watson chose New Forest

Quite simply we brought Silver Street Cottage as we fell in love with its character and location.

I grew up in The New Forest and moved away some time ago so really enjoy "coming home" and spending some time in this beautiful part of the world.

What makes this cottage unique

Central location with easy access to the New Forest & beaches. Excellent restaurants / café bars within a few minutes walk to meet every pallet & pocket.

'Home from home'....fantastic cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a beautifully presented Cottage in a great central location. With two small children to entertain, being so central and having lots of fun days out all within easy reach, made the Cottage a fantastic place to enjoy our family holiday. Can't think of a nicer place to stay. The Cottage was well equipped for families. Highly recommend.

A fantastic few days away in a beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic property! Excellent decor and facilities, lovely courtyard and very close to some lovely walks around Christchurch. Plenty to amuse our party of 4, from age 11 to 76! We also had fun playing some of the board games provided, and relaxing in the cozy lounge - a shame the weather was too good for the log burner to be lit :-)

We would highly recommend Silver Street cottage - thank you Tracy.

Gorgeous spacious traditional cottage

  • 5 of 5

Do not hesitate to book Silver Street Cottage. The owner, Tracy is very helpful and friendly which made booking easy and pleasant.

The cottage is really super. Although spacious, it oozes real cosy traditional charm. There are so many lovely touches that made our stay enjoyable and welcoming. It is really nice to stay in a cottage and not have to go to the shops immediately just so you can make yourself a cup of tea! The kitchen is really well equipped with lots of pretty mugs, good pots and pans and store cupboard ingredients.

Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Loved our stay at Silver Street cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have thoroughly enjoyed a recent stay at Silver Street cottage. It is a beautiful and stylish character property which is very spacious and comfortably furnished. The amenities within the house are excellent and have been thoughtfully planned out and provided by the owners. Apart from bathroom products, everything that we needed for a short stay was already there- this included books, DVDs, games, towels, store cupboard ingredients and washing liquid etc.

Tracy was friendly and efficient when dealing with the booking procedure and the arrival instructions were very clear. There is a private parking space at the cottage and there is also a very pleasant enclosed courtyard area with seating where we could enjoy the sun.

The cottage is in a great location and a walk of a couple of minutes takes you into the town. It has a range of coffee shops, restaurants and gift shops and there are also very scenic walkways within a short distance by the harbour, river and Christchurch priory.

We were lucky to have warm and sunny weather whilst there and spent time at some of the local beaches (Avon and Mudeford) which are within a couple of miles from the town. We also drove to Fordingbridge by the New Forest, which was about 20 miles away, for our 13 year old to have a horse ride. This was at Arniss Equestrian who we'd recommend as a choice for riding.

The Boathouse restaurant was excellent.

Lovely cottage in fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at silver street cottage. The cottage itself was beautiful and we had absolutely everything we needed. We were warned the stairs could be a little precarious for those less stable on their feet. My sister has mobility challenges but the downstairs bedroom and en suite made it all so much easier. Similarly, the short distance into town and the quay, just a short stroll away, made everything so accessible and stress free. Off street parking also a gift!

Nearby pubs and restaurants were great and we especially enjoyed the Boathouse; wonderful food and great atmosphere.

I'd definitely recommend this cottage and hope to stay again one day.

A comfortable, convenient cottage, to suit any age

  • 5 of 5

A very pretty, nicely decorated, beautifully clean cottage, in a very convenient position for access to local restaurants, pubs, children's playparks, historic Priory, ruins, lovely beaches, nature parks, and numerous other activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The owner was very helpful in allowing us to stay, on slightly different days to the normal booking, as they were still available. And supplied us with directions, parking details and information on the keys for the cottage shortly before our trip.

Our family group of 6 ranged between the ages of 4 and 85yrs, and we all had a great time.

Myself and my husband (the elderly couple!) had the downstairs bedroom with ensuite shower room, whilst the 2 grandchildren slept upstairs with our daughter and husband and shared the large family bathroom. Although we'd read in the 'write up' that the stairway wasn't suited to those with unsteady feet, having told to children not to play on the stairs and to be sensible going up and coming down, there were no problems.

The cottage was furnished with everything that you'd be likely to need, with numerous board games and childrens games in the dresser, a very well stocked kitchen with most of the utensils that you could need, as well as many groceries, and essentials to tide you over the initial few days.

Very comfortable beds and - even 'decent toilet rolls'!! - Not found in most accommodation!

Pimms out in the courtyard on a sunny evening prior to going out to dinner 'clinched it'! A lovely trip.

We'd certainly recommend the cottage to other friends or relatives wanting accommodation near to the New Forest as well as the beaches.
