About this property

Our Barnoon flat is on the ground floor of a Victorian house which fronts onto a pedestrian path. There are gardens opposite the houses and really lovely views of the picturesque harbour and St Ives Bay. The flat is very comfortable, colourful and welcoming - you will feel at home here. And the position couldn't really be better - in one direction you are quickly in town, or at the Wharf and harbour beach. The other way takes you down to Porthmeor surf beach and the famous Tate Gallery. It's steep coming back up - hence the fabulous views, so it's not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. It is (honestly) 5 minutes or less down to the harbour, beaches, shops and restaurants, yet Barnoon Terrace is traffic free, with not a car to be seen. With central heating and wifi, this flat is the perfect comfortable and convenient base for a holiday in this fabulous little town.

Lovely holiday

View excellent Comfy bed Could do with a little TLC and spring clean. Overall, excellent location , nice flat, superb vistas over the bay.

Amazing views down onto the harbour area, which obviously meant a few steps up to the property and no vehicle access but also quiet as no passing cars

Great location, beautiful view from front window. Walking distance to everything of interest in St Ives. Fantastic place to stay, just seems a shame that this property will change to only two guests as it has a perfectly good sofa bed in the front room. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Great view

Arrived at the property, it hadn't been cleaned and there was no clean bed linen. After a long journey there was not even a welcome pack, which would have been very nice as we could not even get a cup of tea or coffee! Then the day before we came home the boiler decided not to work, we were told that as it was a bank holiday it was not very easy to get hold of a plumber and we should use kettles to have a bath, really, it did get repaired. Hello! We are Mary and Henry Brown, the owners.
We live in London and have a wonderful team of people in St Ives who help us to take care of Barnoon and Seabirds House. Henry looks after any issues with the building, and I manage the bookings. I really enjoy the contact with our guests - many regulars feel like friends even when all the contact has been by email.
Apart from St Ives and family, our main interest is sailing - in a dinghy on the Thames and a bigger boat on the sea.

Why they chose this property

We bought our Barnoon Flat in 1998 - we fell in love with the view. And Barnoon Terrace, being pedestrian only, is wonderfully quiet. You look out over gardens and rooftops to the wide sweep of St Ives Bay and the lovely harbour. Not a car in sight.
We let the flat to other holidaymakers as well as using it ourselves from the start. Then we saw another property just up the hill which was in a very sorry state and managed to buy that and have the inside completely rebuilt making 5 more lovely flats. It's called Seabirds House - see E13912.
