A superb 3 bed apartment which caters for your every need, in the very popular Costa da Prata complex, which is located in a central position within a few minutes walk of the beach, bars and restaurants. Sao Martinho do Porto has a shell shaped bay with long stretches of white sand. The promenade lines the bay and is very close to Costa Prata. Sao Martinho do Porto is Portugal’s best kept secret offering safe blue water for children to swim in. Due to planning permission it has not been over built and maintains it’s charm. The apartment, being on the ground floor, is ideal for children as it is close to the communal swimming pool. The large balcony is ideally positioned and has within it a built in barbecue, perfect for cooking locally caught fish.Inside, the apartment is bright and airy with a fully equipped modern kitchen. It has been tastefully decorated and conducive to relaxing in after “a hard day at the beach”. There are three bedrooms, two of which have 2 single beds and the other a double bed.

Spacious contemporary apartment in fantastic location. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful 8 night stay in Pauls apartment. It was ideally located a short stroll through the quaint railway station to the beach and restaurants. This was our third holiday in the region and we think we've finally got all the elements perfect in Sao martinho. The apartment was perfect for us a family of five. The kids enjoyed the pool and the beach was so close to swim in the sea. The town was a perfect traditional family holidays location with beach, cafes, ice cream shops,bicycle hire, and pedallos on the sea. We ran on the board walk to Salir do Porto every day and climbed the huge sand dunes- more fun running down. Lovely boutiques and shops to wander into. Great restaurants. Also would highly recommend 'the snack bar' restaurant in Obidos. Amazing food! We had a car hired but could definitely manage without one. Can't wait to get back and would definitely stay in Pauls apartment again. Highly recommend apartment and location.

Top quality apartment

This apartment is so conveniently located to the village/beach (only 5min walk) of Sao martinho do porto. It's secure and well equipped. The layout is excellent with the 3 bedrooms seperate to the living area. Bathrooms are also of a good standard. The apartment is also close to the communal pool which we used every day. The balcony gets the sunshine in the afternoon which is ideal and the friendly property manager is close at hand for any assistance if required. We loved our stay here, fantastic to be away from the tourist traps of the algarve. Eating out is so cheap and whilst there isn't a huge array of choice in the village, there's enough for a weeks stay (we loved pesca no Prato (no.1) and portobello was perfect for pizzas with the kids. Without doubt the selling point of this area is the beach. It's beautifully sheltered by the cove and is so safe for the kids. A beautiful beach. The local supermarket is only a short drive away and there are a couple of small mini markets within a short stroll away from the apt. All in all a beautiful place to stay, v authentic Portuguese away from it all (I don't think we heard an English or Irish accent during our stay). We'll be back!!

We love where our apartment is situated because it is in a central location, close to the beach, shops, restaurants etc but in a quiet area. Costa Prata is very popular due to its location but also there is a friendly atmosphere. Families gather around the communal swimming pool. We love Sao Martinho because it is unspoilt, yet has everything you need.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Cycling, water sports.

Ladies Complementary Therapy available: pre-tan treatments, aromatherapy massage, facials etc.

Spectacular views for painting. Painting holidays.

Also great walks information available via Casa do Cultura.

Golf excursions.

Coast/Beach:

Ten minutes walk to the beautiful beach of Sao Martinho. Long stretch of white sands fronting the bars, cafes, shops and sand dunes. Safe, shallow waters with water sport facilities ideal for children. A popular holiday destination for Portuguese families.

Travel:

Lisbon airport 50 minutes drive away. Airport pick-up and drop off can be arranged at an additional cost. There are also bus and train services from Lisbon to Sao Martinho Do Porto (details can be forwarded to you).

To enjoy the full beauty of this area of Portugal car hire is advised (prices are reasonable).

Distances:

20 minutes drive away World Championship surfing facilities at Peniche and Nazare.

The magical gardens of Buddha Eden. The Medieval walled city of Obidos and the historic city of Alcobaca are all within 30 minutes drive.

Further Details:

There is a local market open during week days (except Monday), up until 1pm. This sells locally grown fresh produce and locally caught fish.

The town has one supermarket and a bank (English speaking staff).

There are many traditional restaurants along the sea front.

Post Office situated in the centre of the village, near the Police Station.

monthly antiques market along the promenade (last Sunday of the month).
