Bron Cymyran has been recently refurbished and is situated on the High Street in Rhosneigr, a lively and thriving village with many restaurants and bars as well as surf, gift and food shops all within a stone throw from the house which will comfortably sleep a large family or a group of friends in four bedrooms situated over the first and second floor. The sitting room provides a welcoming, social area to sit and relax providing views from the large window to the superb sandy main beach in Rhosneigr village. The sun terrace at the rear of the property provides an excellent relaxing area, for sun drenched breakfast, lunch and tea. There is also a modern outdoor shower room for when you come off the beach after kayaking, windsurfing or kite surfing or having just explored the rock pools and splashing in the sea. The summerhouse to the rear is a great place for children to relax and also accommodates the laundry facilities. The central location of Bron Cymyran situated close to all the amenities and a minute from the main beach, makes it a superb holiday destination for family groups to enjoy all year long! Parking is on street outside the front of the property.

Changeover is Fridays. Please vacate the property by 10am on your departure day allowing for the property to be cleaned for the next guests to arrive from 4pm.

When I left the armed forces I used my pension to buy this house so my husband and I could create a home away from home. We have spent a lot of time and effort modernising what was once a tired house and hope your family enjoys it. We cannot visit as much as we would like and feel a house like this needs to be lived in on a regular basis.

Lovely holiday

The property at Rhosneigr is ideally placed to access the beach, shops and cafes in this beautiful part of Anglesey. The house has everything you could need as a home away from home and the master bedroom is worth a particular mention with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen is modern and extremely well equiped and the local stores stock everything you need. As mentioned by previous reviewers the access stairs are very steep - not a problem for most people but worth noting if a member of your party has mobility problems. A very comfortable and enjoyable holiday.

Great house, with lots of space and a lovely location.

We stayed here on a wild windy and rainy weekend. The house was warm, comfortable and had loads of space with a handy shop over the road for provisions.

Top 2 floors only, not a house!

Our stay at Bron Cymyran was very pleasant, we had the best week’s weather with continuous sunshine and heat for the whole week!

For the main stay we were 3 adults and 5 children (6,6,3,3 & 8 mnths)

The facilities within the property are very good and the space is very good for 2 families sharing.

I would have to point out though, the property is listed and displayed online as a 'House' and only when we received the welcome pack a week before our stay did we find out that this is not a house and a 2 floor apartment which you access through either steep stairs at the front or hard metal stairs at the rear. At no point on the website is this referenced to and if advertised as a house i would of expected a house! Not a 2 floored apartment.

The photos show the whole front of the house, but you only have the first and second floor and in no area on the website is this pointed out!

If you are travelling with small children, beware! The steps are steep at the front and hard and metal at the rear.

The ground floor is occupied by other people and you share the courtyard with them and their dog as well as the entrance hall.

The advertising also specified parking, but this is only on a busy high street with seasonal restrictions! Again very misleading. Good luck finding parking in the summer!

We waited 1 week for our damage deposit to be returned as it depended on cleaner availability.

Overall we had a great time in Rhosneigr but are quite disappointed in what we feel was a very misleading advertisement. Had we found out sooner we would have cancelled as this is in no way suitable for very young children and not stated at all on the website. We will be looking to get this amended on the website as I would not want others to be misled.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and your comments. I note your points about the house / apartment but the local council call it a house and it is taxed as such. The flat below is unoccupied so unsure of the comments about them and their dog?!? Baffling. Also it is not a shared courtyard but is part of the downstairs flat as is clearly stated on the welcome pack. The courtyard to the rear is part of the rental which you can access via the downstairs courtyard (as well as through the kitchen balcony or rear of the property). The advertising specifies on street parking so not sure how this is misleading. The damage deposit should not have been paid back in full as these clients had actually lost one of the back door keys and the reason the cleaner didn't get there immediately was that the property is normally a Friday changeover but I had accommodated a Saturday to Saturday especially to suit these clients so the cleaner could not immediately get to the property.

Lovely New Year break

Stayed for 4 nights over New Year 2915. House is lovely, well decorated and everything you need is here. Great to stand on balcony and watch all the fireworks. Location is brilliant just a few minutes to beach easy stroll and great to have 3 places to eat within seconds of house. House very spacious and comfortable. Would recommend.

Location

Our family fell in love with Anglesey whilst visiting friends and love Rhosneigr and the proximity to the beach as well as being close to the mountains. It combines the very best Wales has to offer. The area is also so dog friendly and the walks in the dunes are fabulous. There is always so much to do, even on a wetter day, such as the climbing wall, sea zoo, Slate museum, Electric mountain and visits to Plas Newydd. On sunny days, you have so much choice and simple things like flying a kite on the beach, kayaking, or playing french cricket on the vast sandy beaches when the tide is out - finishing the day with a well deserved ice cream!

Snowdonia

Llanberis is a 30 minute drive away which marks the start of the walk/train up to Snowdon and also the electric mountain and slate museum. Including a visit to the city of Caenarfon would make a good day trip – the castle is a must see.

Coast/Beach:

A 2 minute walk will take you to Rhosneigr’s principle beach providing lots of space for children to enjoy the usual seaside activities. Rhosneigr beach caters for dinghy sailing, kayaking, and is an internationally renowned windsurf and kite surf location. At lower tides you can go shrimping and sea fishing from the natural sea harbour rocks and dogs are permitted on all the nearby beaches. There are 2 main surf shops running tuition for surfing, kite surfing and windsurfing.

Travel:

Rhosneigr has its own railway station and the towns of Holyhead (15 minutes) and Bangor (20 minutes) provide larger shops and amenities including a cinema and ferries to Dublin. Anglesey has many interesting attractions from historic Bangor, Beaumaris Castle and the Menai Bridge, to Plas Newyd, the ancient seat of the Earl of Anglesey. Newborough has 10km of sandy beaches and its surrounding forests have marked cycle and footpaths.

Distances:

A short walk around the point will bring you to the extensive and stunning Broad Beach, approximately 2km long, with its impressive dunes and the rocky outcrops at the far end. It’s great for dog walking and you can stop by at the Oystercatcher on your way back (see below).

Further Details:

The house stands right next door to Sullivan’s Café, Wine Bar and Restaurant – a great place for a quick cup of coffee, lunch or supper. Two doors up is the local fish and chip shop – be quick it sells out quickly, and opposite that is Mojo’s Creperie – which serves superb crepes for breakfast as well as a full evening meal. 50m in the other direction is Sandy’s Bistro for lunch or supper and beyond that is a lovely little ice cream shop.

The renowned Oyster Catcher restaurant is a leisurely stroll near the dunes or a minute’s drive from the house.

Bron Cymyran is a 2 minute walk from the beach and benefits from being close to all the amenities that Rhosneigr provides, the smell of the creperie opposite is very tempting in the mid-morning! When you wander back from the beach, you can go straight through the side passage to the back of the property and dive into the wetroom. The views of the sea from the sitting room and master bedroom are breathtaking when the sun is setting.
