Cottage in Tribehou, Saint Lo, Manche, Normandy, France - Wonderful Rural Location With Extensive Views

Le Vieux Pressoir has recently been converted into a stylish, yet cosy holiday home for couples in the beautiful Normandy countryside. It enjoys stunning views across the Marais from the lounge windows & the garden seating area at the side & rear of the cottage - perfect for a spot of painting or bird watching. The property is located in the 'Parc Naturel Regional des Marais du Cotentin' & the Marais is grazed by horses & cows as well as being home to many species of bird & wildlife. There is a wonderful boulangerie & a basic general store in Tribehou, a 3 min drive down the road. The Port of Carentan with its shops, bars & lively Monday market is a 12 minute drive away by car.

The location is a good base from which to explore the WW2 museums, cemeteries & landing beaches (Utah beach is 30 min drive). It is equally well placed for exploring the rich history of the region with beautiful towns & cathedrals such as Bayeux (30 min drive) & beautiful beaches & ports on the west coast such as Portbail (40 min drive).

The cottage enjoys satellite TV (37 inch widescreen), DVD (with selection of DVDs), Internet radio & a high quality music system in the lounge & bedroom. You can bring your Ipod or access the owner's extensive music collection. The kitchen area is equipped with a gas cooker, fridge, microwave, coffee machine & all the usual kitchen crockery & utensils. There is a walk in shower in the luxury bathroom plus underfloor heating. The bedroom has a king size bed, good sized chest of drawers & bedside cabinets. White towels & tea towels are provided & are changed half way through the week. All bedding & beach towels are also provided as is a hair dryer. Outside there is a table & chairs, a swing chair plus a small BBQ.

Normandy Gem

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect for our short stay at this beautiful and tastefully converted little gem in the Normandy countryside. Excellent and comfortable facilities throughout together with fantastic views over the marais with its abundant wildlife. Whilst there is much to see in the area we spent most of our time relaxing in the peaceful and comfortable surroundings of the gite. Highly recommended and thank you Neil and Gail for being such excellent hosts.

Relaxing and stunning

  • 5 of 5

Arrived to a really warm welcome by Neil. The welcome pack was a surprise and really appreciated. Cannot express enough what a high standard the gite is with great technology. Situated in tranquil surroundings listening to the bird tweets and the cows mooing. Tribeho is a great place to stay to visit all the ww2 historical sites. Would recommend to all our friends and family. Had a relaxing time. Thanks Neil and Gail and sky (woof woof) for a memorable holiday.

A lovely gite and in a perfect location for exploring Normandy - we really enjoyed the holiday and relaxed pace of life. Our hosts Neil and Gail were lovely and made us feel very welcome, the welcome pack was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. The gite was spotless and well looked after, the bathroom was especially noteworthy, a heated floor makes all the difference. I would not only recommend this propert (in fact we already have) but we hope to go again. Neil and Gail - thank you so much. Don't usually bother to write reviews so this has to be special.

Paradise in France

This Gite has been restored to a beautifully high standard with rustic charm that fits it's setting. Its Equipped with every thing you'll need for your stay. The setting is on the edge of a small river that looks across the Marais with wild life and cattle in abundance. Set from the main road, it is incredibly peaceful and tranquil. There is a welcome pack of essentials ie tea, coffee, milk, beer etc on arrival , this was a very nice touch and very much appreciated. Neil our host gave us a very warm welcome and helped with restaurants to try and places to visit. In easy reach of the D-Day beaches, Bayeux, Le Mont St Michel and much more. Simply fantastic!

Would recommend this lovely place and Gite to any one.
