About the Owner

I live in Derbyshire with my wife but I was born and bred in Scotland. We both love Scotland so we decided to buy a holiday cottage there. It has taken a year of hard work and love to refurbish Lochpark Cottage , but we think it has been worthwhile and should you stay there we hope you do to.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have enjoyed a super break in the immaculate cottage. A lovely part of the country, our first visit to Stranraer. The welcome pack was indeed most welcome. There is a lot more to see and do around here and if we return, which seems likely, wewould not stay anywhere else.

Great location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely few days in this cottage, very comfortable with nice views over park and out to loch Ryan. The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything you need. Location is excellent, ideal for short or long walks along the shores of the loch, great base for exploring surrounding area port Patrick, mull of Galloway etc. Town centre and supermarkets all within walking distance. Thoroughly enjoyed relaxing break. Would recommend this property for couples or family with older kids? Just beware of low ceiling up to top floor . April 2016

A visit to Starnraer

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cottage from the 14th -18th February 2016.This cottages was really nice place to stay. Everything you could have wanted was there. It certainly met the description given. Very clean and well maintained to a high standard. The welcome pack was very welcome on our arrival and was met by Yvonne who was good enough to show us around the cottage and to give us a brief insight to the area. The rooms are very well presented. Bathroom equally as good. I will certainly look to return later this year as it is an ideal location to tour that south side of Scotland. We were out all the day so never really got to go round the town itself so never tried the local restaurants. Places to go. Mull of Galloway, stay on the coast road on the way back head to Loch Logan then on to Loch Patrick, the Crown for lunch.

Wonderful cottage with great location.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had just had the most wonderful first Scottish holiday, staying at this excellent cottage. It's in a great location for our youngest to enjoy a fabulous park, our dog to enjoy his walks along the beach and for us to enjoy waking up to the most beautiful view every morning. The cottage had everything you could need with ample space for a family of 4 and a small dog. It was a great base for driving to other locations for us like Port Patrick, the lighthouse at the Mull of Galloway, Raiders road in Galloway forest, Kirkcudbright and not forgetting a day trip to Belfast with Stena line £10 each for a return ticket and even a free bus ticket to get around Belfast for the day.

No sure how we fitted it all in a week so we will definitely have to return.
