About W Russell Bryson

I live in Derbyshire with my wife but I was born and bred in Scotland. We both love Scotland so we decided to buy a holiday cottage there. It has taken a year of hard work and love to refurbish Lochpark Cottage , but we think it has been worthwhile and should you stay there we hope you do to.

W Russell Bryson purchased this cottage in 2013

Why W Russell Bryson chose Dumfries & Galloway

The south West of Scotland has a milder climate due to the gulf stream. The cottage has fantastic views over Loch Ryan yet has shops , restaurants etc within walking distance. The cottage is conveniently situated for exploring other parts of SW Scotland.

What makes this cottage unique

Being in Stranraer you are conveniently situated to visit many places such as Port Patrick, Port William and even a day trip to Ireland as the ferry leaves from just across the loch at Cairnryan

Agnew Park is just across the road from the cottage as is the seafront.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have enjoyed a super break in the immaculate cottage. A lovely part of the country, our first visit to Stranraer. The welcome pack was indeed most welcome. There is a lot more to see and do around here and if we return, which seems likely, wewould not stay anywhere else.

Welcoming, warm and very clean

  • 5 of 5

We were all excited as it was our first Xmas in Scotland. The cottage is lovely and very clean. We had everything you would need. As it was Xmas the cottage was cozy. The local people are amazing, so friendly and can't do enough for you. The scenery was beautiful. The dogs enjoyed it as well. The only thing I would say is we were disappointed the cottage wasn't decorated for the festive season. Would highly recommend this Cottage.😀😀😀😀😀😀

Owner's Response: Hi Christina , thank you for your kind review I did think of asking Yvonne to put Xmas decorations up but then thought what if our guests are of a religion that does not celebrate Christmas . So many differencesin this day and age. From your comment, should anyone book for xmas this year , I will ask if they would like decorations up Many thanks Jane

Great location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely few days in this cottage, very comfortable with nice views over park and out to loch Ryan. The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything you need. Location is excellent, ideal for short or long walks along the shores of the loch, great base for exploring surrounding area port Patrick, mull of Galloway etc. Town centre and supermarkets all within walking distance. Thoroughly enjoyed relaxing break. Would recommend this property for couples or family with older kids? Just beware of low ceiling up to top floor . April 2016
