About Felicity Munday

We are a married couple living in Bath, UK, who love the Luberon and Bonnieux and spend as much time as we can there.

Felicity Munday purchased this house in 2009

Why Felicity Munday chose Bonnieux

We bought the land in 2009, built the house in 2011 and moved to spend half the year there in 2012. We love it and hope we have created a tranquil and tasteful environment that you will enjoy too.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"We had a fabulous holiday and your villa is stunning. A true delight. The style and decor are truly Provencal and the facilities are brilliant. Bonnieux is a hidden gem with great bars and restaurants and a great location to explore all the delights of the region." July 2014

"We really enjoyed staying there. We felt the house is very

generously and thoughtfully done and in great taste. It has a great

feeling and is really well equipped and comfortable. Inside, you seem to

have considered everything. Outside, around the pool, it was very nice to sit

in the shade of the trees and the pool is fantastic." August 2014

Excellent place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We (4 adults) had a wonderful week in Bonnieux which we felt was a great base for visiting the Luberon area and highly recommend the house. It was so well laid out, really comfortable and extremely well equipped. It was always lovely to "come home" after a day exploring the beautiful region. We enjoyed the walk to and from the village (often purchasing the tempting delights from the patisserie) and across to Lacoste. The pool area is excellent for a lovely swim or a great spot to relax. Felicity is extremely helpful and provided a lot of information regarding wonderful eateries and places to visit in the region. If you are interested in gardens we would recommend visiting Nicole de Vesian's La Louve garden located in the village.

A stylish house on the edge of a stylish village

  • 5 of 5

The owner's description does not exaggerate, this is a very fine home indeed, modern, but very stylish and beautifully equipped throughout. The kitchen is particularly well stocked and each of the en-suite shower/bathrooms has top quality fittings with huge walk-in showers and quality thermostatic valves. There were copious, thick, fluffy towels. Outside the pool is perfectly placed in the sunniest location but sheltered from the inevitable wind that blows in this part of the Luberon at certain times of the year. The water was crystal clear. There is plenty of shade but the garden large enough for us to find an early morning sunny spot for breakfast.

Although the house is on the edge of one of the Luberon's finest villages, it is very quiet and private without being isolated. Bonnieux is a pretty, rambling village that clings to the side of the hill. The walk for the breakfast croissant each morning was very rewarding but with the boulangerie at the bottom of the far side of the hill, the calorie count is about evens. The walk back after a fine dinner at Le Fornil restaurant is somewhat easier.

The extremely charming and English speaking Marie-Aude, who lives 20 minutes down the road, ensured the house was pristine for when we arrived and left us with complete confidence that she would sort any problems - of course, there was none.

Peace and comfort in the Luberon

  • 5 of 5

The house is spacious, tastefully decorated and amazingly well-equipped, although we spent most of the time outside, especially on the charming canopied dining area, where we ate morning, noon and night - when not at one of the local restaurants. It's an ideal base for morning ventures to local towns and villages like Isle sur la Sorgue and the picturesque Lourmarin, followed by afternoons and early evenings lazing by the pool.

Beautiful, peaceful, practical - not found better

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house from the moment we arrived. We have stayed in the Luberon many, many times (we have family in the area) and can honestly say this is our favourite rental to date. The house itself is surrounded by green oaks, a little above the village of Bonnieux and high enough to catch summer breezes. Everything about it felt like perfect: simple, comfortable and beautifully thought out design, appliances that were straightforward and effective, a very good sized pool (with no chlorine) and beds we slept very well in.

Felicity, the owner, was a delight to communicate with and the concierge - who came to look after the garden and pool - also a delightful person: I persuaded her to stay and chat over coffee more than once!

I got fit walking down to the boulangerie at the bottom of the village (and back up again), the girls had a great time chilling and swimming, the kitchen was the first one we've found amongst Luberon rentals that was actually a pleasure to cook in, and all in all we can't thank you enough for making our stay so comfortable and easy. A la prochaine!

Very happy memories

  • 5 of 5

We, a couple, spent a very happy fortnight at this new and stylish house. It is very comfortable, well equipped and very relaxing. We loved our walk to and from Bonnieux, a village which has stolen our hearts since we stayed there the first time last year. And the nearby villages like Goult, Lourmarin, Lacoste and Ménerbes are definitely worth a visit.

The pool was wonderful, and very refreshing during the hot summer period. Though the garden is in part still a work in progress it is nevertheless very enjoyable. We spent many happy hours reading on the terrace or elsewhere in the garden. Or simply enjoying the peace and quiet, while sipping a delicious regional wine.

Felicity, the owner was a wonderful host. We did not meet her, but she was always very quick and helpful with her replies. As was Marie, the caretaker. She was very kind and wanting to make sure that we had all we needed. Which we did.

In short, very happy memories!
