Verity views is a large three bedroom, two bathroom apartment. It has a fully equipped modern kitchen and two modern bathrooms. There is a balcony which runs across the front of the apartment, providing stunning views across the harbour and sea beyond, which can be accessed through the french doors in both the lounge and master bedroom. There is central heating in each room and an electric fire in the lounge.
Ilfracombe is a bustling town in North Devon with an historic harbour, ‘The Tunnels’ beach (holders of a blue flag and seaside award) and a large array of restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops.
With a number of points of interest including Hillsborough Hill (the site of an iron age fortified settlement), the architectural-award-winning Landmark Theatre with its unusual double-conical design, Trinity (a13th-century parish church) and the Damien Hirst owned statue, Verity, Ilfracombe is a great destination at any time of year.
You will find plenty to do in and around Ilfracombe with a large range of activities available to suit all tastes including walking, fishing, horse riding, cycling, surfing, walking, sub-aqua diving and clay pigeon shooting.
Ilfracombe is the perfect location to be based to take advantage of all that North Devon has to offer. There are a number of award winning sandy beaches within a short drive of the town which are perfect for children to play safely and also offer some of the best surfing in the UK.
With the South West Coast Path National Trail on your doorstep, rated as one of the top walks to be found anywhere in the world by Lonely Planet and voted Britain’s best walking route by the readers of walk magazine, it’s easy to explore the 630 miles of spectacular coastline.
Exmoor National Park is close by, containing an amazing variety of landscapes such as moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland within its 267 square miles. Within the National Park are the unique twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth connected by a cliff top railway and Combe Martin whose beach is famous for its safety, fun activities of kayaking, rock pooling, dolphin watching and general cleanliness.
To the West are the beautiful Hartland Peninsula and the market town of Bideford. On the coast and Estuary you will find Appledore, Westward Ho! and Clovelly, one of the last feudal villages. South of Ilfracombe is Barnstaple with its famous Pannier Market and Butchers Row.
This partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
I live in Bristol and work in London so really enjoy taking time out to head to the coast and relax on the beach or go surfing. North Devon has always been one of my favourite places to go as it has some of the best beaches in the country.
Kristy O'Connor purchased this apartment in 2014
I had been looking for a property in North Devon for a long time as I regularly travel back and forth from my home in Bristol to go surfing and generally relax by the sea. When Verity Views came onto the market I knew it was the perfect place for me as it was based in Ilfracombe which meant I was within a 20 minute drive of my three favourite beaches (Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton) and it had the most amazing view which I can just sit and watch for hours.
There are so many great restaurants and pubs in Ilfracombe that you are spoilt for choice every day and they are all within a short walk of the apartment.
There's also a parking space right outside the property which is rather rare in the town and great when you're arriving late at night after work.
Beautiful apartment with wonderful views. Great location within walking distance of beaches, shops and restaurants. Have had a fantastic week - thank you.
Fabulous apartment, amazing views, lovely people too. Wonderful drinking tea in bed with the french doors open with views of the sea - wow! Eclectik restaurant highly recommended, Dinosaur Land was great for the whole family too. Thanks for a relaxing week away.
Beautiful apartment, lots to do and see. Thank you.
Our first impression of the accommodation was poor, there was overflowing wheeley bins on the front also bin bags which had been torn by gulls and rubbish strewn about everywhere. The parking was on a very high ledge and needed lots of manoeuvring to get straight in parking place as there isn’t much space between the property and the parking place. Overall the flat is very warm and comfortable and had everything you could need apart from a working shaver plug, we did find one but it never worked. The flat has very good views over Ilfracombe harbour, the bathrooms and kitchen are very nice also the bed is very comfortable.
Kitchen had all we needed for a week long stay cooking and eating in each night. View out of this world. Walking distance to the harbour and all Ilfracombe attractions. Telco superstore a five minute drive. Parking good but narrow spots, fortunately we only had one car.
Would definitely recommend this apartment and would stay again if needing accommodation in the area.
My husband had an unexpected heart attack 9 weeks before our stay. He managed the stairs and steep walk to town and the harbour and back several times, walking uphill required a few rest stops but not arduous
We had a lovely time in ilfracombe and the apartment was very nice but there were some small things that could be improved on for a better experience. The parking is awful: there is room for one car only. The lines to the space aren't clear and then people park so close to the car it is impossible to open the door. There are issues with other residents (antisocial) leading to the bins being filled with junk leaving no room for your rubbish (although it is designated for the apartment). There were a few repairs that needed doing to the apartment and a new master bedroom mattress (springs digging in) but otherwise it was a lovely stay.
Well appointed Appartment with a great vie over the harbour & only a five minute walk to either the harbour or the town. The car park space is very small & not the easiest to get in & out off. There were 4 adults staying so another toilet would have helped as the one in the appartment is located in the shower room so not the best when everyone is trying to get ready to go out in an evening. Overall though plenty of space & would have no hesitation in staying again or recommending it to family or friends.
Parking is tight but we got one space, it was easy to find. Very spacious, got most of the things we needed. Perfect for our getaway.
This is a great property and I would thoroughly recommend it. The location is outstanding, and the apartment itself is in a Georgian building which means lovely high ceilings, and a sense of spaciousness. The main bedroom and the lounge rooms are a good size and get the view. The other two bedrooms are well equipped; the back one is a single and is small, but perfectly adequate. There's loads of hot water, and the kitchen has everything you need. Having two bathrooms does ease the bath time load! However, only one WC in the shower room. Apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival. Overall, a very well equipped and comfortable place to stay. We loved it, and would come again.
Restaurants: I'd recommend Alfie and the Kaiser for a great steak meal, and order the sweet potato fries; they are delicious! Also the Rising Sun pub in nearby Lynton gave us a delicious Sunday lunch, which is worth a day trip ,especially to see the cliff railway. Do not visit La Gendarmerie; they wrote down the booking time incorrectly, were entirely unsympathetic, despite the restaurant only having 6 people in it , so they were virtually empty, and then gave our table away on a special birthday meal for family, turning us away, which left us traipsing around town for an hour and thankfully Alfie & the Kaiser came to the rescue, but not an ideal start to the evening. But we didn't let it spoil the holiday, and had a great time. Incidentally, there are lots of restaurants in town, but my advice is to book as they were all full on Saturday, and get it in writing if possible.
Coast/Beach:
Just 10 minutes walk from the apartment are the Tunnels Beaches - hand carved in the 1820's, the four tunnels provide a truly unique experience with a tidal pool and fantastic rock pools (rated the 3rd best beach for rock pooling in the UK by BBC Wildlife magazine).
Within 20 minutes drive of the town are many superb sandy beaches including Croyde (voted England's best beach), Woolacombe Bay (3 miles long) and Saunton Sands (the UK's best long boarding surfing beach).
