Superb, Comfortable, Farmhouse with 5 Bedrooms on Private Rural Estate in North Yorkshire

Warren Farmhouse is a splendid 18th Century Home set in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park on the private 5000 acre Kildale Estate close to the Heritage Coast and the seaside towns of Saltburn and Whitby. This much loved home has been thoughtfully restored to retain many of its original features. There are two beamed reception rooms with open fires and squishy sofas and the huge farmhouse kitchen, with its Aga, has breathtaking views across the countryside down towards the coast. The kitchen with large oak refectory table is perfect for family and friends to get together. All five bedrooms are incredibly comfortable and there are five contemporary bathrooms. There is a further small living room on the top floor which is perfect for children. The surrounding moors are home to an abundance of wildlife and are great fun to explore at any time of year – an inspiration for bird watchers, artists and lovers of nature, this is the perfect gateway to explore the very best that North Yorkshire has to offer. There are even wild ponies in the valley below!

Very peaceful location, with magnificent views from every window. House maintained to a very high standard with plenty of equipment for a large family group. Cosy feel to the house even though it is a large property. Totally enclosed garden so very suitable for children and dogs. The enormous Aga in the kitchen is a real bonus.

This is, without doubt, the most perfect holiday home that we have ever stayed in , especially if you like being right in the middle of the moors with sheep for company. The house is beautifully furnished and the fresh flowers were a lovely touch. If it were possible to give 11 out of 10 then Warren would earn it.

Very well equipped house for family get together's. Very clean, warm and comfortable. Some logs provided for fires which we didn't use but can imagine would be lovely on colder days.

Notes on accommodation: Warren Farmhouse is a much loved family home where comfort is the prime consideration. There are 2 bright and colourful reception rooms - one with an open fire and the other with a wood burning stove set into the original fireplace. Reception one has a library and an antique chest. The second reception room is light and airy with wooden beams, comfy sofa and looks out to the garden. All the Bedrooms are beautifully decorated, have comfortable beds and some have beamed ceilings. They all have breathtaking views across the surrounding moors and North Yorkshire countryside. Opposite the kitchen area, the lovely light and spacious dining area has a spacious wooden refectory table with seating for 11 and an antique dresser with china. Enjoy the scenery and watch the wild birds at the feeder whilst eating breakfast and planning the day’s activities Outside: Warren Farmhouse nestles on the private 5000 acre Kildale Estate and offers total seclusion. The enclosed, child friendly garden has superb views across the surrounding moors and hills leading down to the coast. There is a patio area, garden furniture and BBQ. The Estate is criss-crossed with footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways which are great fun to explore at any time of year. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, Belfast sink, freezer, iron and ironing board. Hanging rail for drying swimsuits, towels etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Beds are made up for arrival, with fine thread Egyptian cotton and towels are provided. Other: There is a further Snug on the 2nd Floor between Bedrooms 4 & 5 with sofa and chair. A perfect bolt-hole to escape with the papers.

Kildale Village, with its popular tearoom, is on the Cleveland Way. This is the perfect venue for active or relaxing holidays with family and friends or to just celebrate that special occasion. Kildale’s small train station is on the Esk Valley Line which runs to the ancient seaport of Whitby, passing through Goathland (where Heartbeat was filmed). You can even enjoy the journey by steam!


The golden sandy beaches, fishing towns and villages of Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Saltburn, Staithes, Sandsend and Runswick Bay are all within a 30 minute drive. This beautiful part of Yorkshire has been a thriving visitor destination for centuries and has some great eating places by the sea - from gourmet restaurants to old-fashioned chippies, ice-cream parlours and charming tearooms. The coast is a popular haunt for fossil collectors and fishing enthusiasts.


The Georgian town of Stokesley, with its wide market square and cobbled streets, has tea rooms, independent shops and a great farmers market every Friday.

Historic Homes and Castles abound in this region – Newby Hall and Gardens, Castle Howard and Rievaulx Abbey – just to name a few.
