Cottage in Nether Wallop, Stockbridge, Hampshire, England - Lovely, quiet village location, close to Winchester and Salisbury

The large and comfortable sitting room leads through to a spacious, well-equipped kitchen/diner, utility room, and bathroom with a double-size shower and lots of natural light. The bedroom is furnished with a Super King-size bed and 300 thread-count linen.

Little Trout is set back from the road with a large, gated, garden at the front which is available for guests and their dogs. There is a small garden table and chairs to sit outside in the evenings.

About Anthony and Sarah Whitaker

Your hosts, Sarah and Anthony Whitaker, moved to Nether Wallop with their three children in 1993.

Between then and January 2014, Anthony ran the Trout Wine Shop situated in what is now the Little Trout and gained a loyal following for his interesting selection of wines from around the world.

Meanwhile, Sarah has built up a thriving business as an AGA demonstrator, teaching AGA owners how to get the best out of their range cookers.

We moved to Nether Wallop for many reasons - it is a beautiful, friendly village and we love it!

Nether Wallop is easily accessible from most directions, the A303, main road to and from the South West is just six miles away!

Little Trout offers all the comforts of home - even a pair of hens wandering about the garden!

From Nether Wallop it is easy to visit Stonehenge, the New Forest, cities for shopping or to walk for miles along the paths and droves, admiring the beautiful countryside.

Notes on accommodation: Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Please note that a dog and two cats live at the adjacent property. Outside: Outside there is ample parking in the front driveway. Gates may be closed to contain a dog, but the garden is not securely fenced. Utility Room: Washing machine, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board. Broom, dustpan and brush and mop. Extra sets of linen and towels. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and 300 thread-count linen are included, with a second set available if required. The property is cleaned weekly, or me often by arrangement.

Lovely, comfortable, well equipped cottage

My partner, myself and our dog, Daisy have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at Little Trout. It is a very well equipped, comfortable and surprisingly spacious accommodation which we found to be well situated and in a peaceful location.

Coast/Beach:

Closest beaches are on the Hampshire coast, approx 30 miles away.

Travel:

Closest stations are Grateley, 5 miles (no taxi rank) and Andover 10 miles, which has a taxi rank. Winchester Station is approx 12 miles.

Nearest airport is Southampton, 35 miles; Heathrow is approx 65 miles to the north east.

The port of Southampton, to join cruise ships, is approx 35 miles away.

Distances:

Nearest towns are the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, about 12 miles away and Romsey and Andover, each about 10 miles away.

Further Details:

Closest pub is about a mile up the road, and Stockbridge offers a large choice of pubs and restaurants about 5 miles away.

Booking Notes:
There is a 20% High Season supplement during July and August, Christmas and New Year.

50% payment plus a £100 refundable deposit (against cancellation, loss or damage) is required at the time of booking, with the remaining 50% due 6 weeks before the let starts. If the booking is made within 6 weeks of the start the whole amount plus booking deposit is required.

Changeover Day:
Weeks normally run Friday to Friday, but please ask about alternative availability.

Lettings begin at 4pm and Little Trout must be vacated by 12pm on the day of departure.


Notes on prices:
Minimum stay is two nights.
