About the property

Lodge near Perth, Scotland - The Is In A Lovely, Quiet, Rural Location But Just 3 Miles To The West Of Perth

The lodge is set in the semi rural hamlet of Huntingtower, a conservation area, which is about 3 miles west of the City of Perth. It is set in delightful grounds

which has a small stream running through it known locally as the Town Lade. The Lade is a great attraction for ducks and moorhens. There are some very impressive wellingtonia trees too. There is a lovely riverside path about a 2 minute walk from the lodge door - this path is great for walking or cycling. In one direction you can walk to the village of Almondbank (5 minutes) and in the other direction you can follow the river all the way to Perth (about an hours walk). Almondbank is a pretty little village which has the River Almond running through the middle of it. Just beyond Almondbank is the small village of Pitcairngreen - it is also very pretty having a large village green with the houses surrounding it. It also has a lovely village pub called the Pitcairngreen Inn which offers good food and accepts dogs! If you head off in the other direction you will eventually reach Perth which has a great variety of good restaurants, shops and a lovely theatre. There is a lovely hotel on the doorstep of the lodge which offers good food and drink and is open to non residents.

About Mairi Stewart

Hello my name is Mairi and my husband David and myself bought this lodge as part of a small lodge development in 2003. I look after the running of this while David has his own business growing and managing potatoes!

I am very lucky that I live and work in such a beautiful area and from my office window I can see ducks, moorhens, rabbits, squirrels and the occasional heron and kingfisher. This is also the view from Lodge 4!

Although we are only 3 miles from the centre of Perth, there is a real rural feel about this area and there are some fantastic walks and great cycling to be had.

I want people to come here and enjoy the surrounding area for the beauty, the peace and the quietness. I am on site a lot of the time for help and advice.
