Guestbook comments from the owner

"We have stayed in lots of high quality properties and this rates amongst the very highest of them".

"The property was constructed to a very high standard. Fixtures and fittings again of a very high standard. The gardens were beautiful and very safe for our children to run around in. The property owner was fantastic. She was very accommodating and made us feel very, very welcome. We'll be booking again for next year".

"Beautifully furnished yet cosy and comfortable".

Beautiful barn and a very warm welcome

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful Easter break at Tyne Hill cottage. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Julie and her family were so helpful and spent lots of time with our children (8 & 6) explaining how they look after their horses. Julie's homemade cake was delicious (we had to fight over the last slice!). The setting is lovely and very peaceful and a treat to have use of the private tennis court.

There is so much to do in the local area whatever your interests. Among the places we visited were;

Warwick Castle - worth a visit but very expensive if you buy tickets on the day. Definitely worth advance planning to track down discount vouchers.

Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park - very well run family farm experience, lots to do for younger children.

Turpins Lodge Riding School - lovely little riding school with great teachers

Our stay at Tyne Hill was the highlight of the Easter holidays for our children. We would love to visit again and would highly recommend.

Perfect first family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic break at Tyne Hill Barn, it really exceeded all our expectations for our first family holiday with our 5 month old daughter.

Julie made us feel totally welcome and was on hand when we needed some more logs for the log burner. The homemade cake was delicious too!

Julie has thought of everything to make it a home from home with little touches of luxury, from the toiletries to the towels and bed linen.

The location is great, there are lots of pretty villages nearby to visit and we would highly recommend a trip to Stratford Upon Avon and also to Blenheim Palace.

We hope to be able to return in the warmer months to make use of the pool too!!

Fantastic stay, highly recommend.

  • 5 of 5

We went away for a relaxing break in the countryside and that's exactly what we got. Everything at the cottage was perfect and every little detail was thought of - even down to the welcome cake! The rooms were immaculately clean and tidy, the bathrooms were spacious and we loved making wood fires in the log burner. Julie was a very attentive host and we knew that if we had any problems she was just the other side of the courtyard. We would wholeheartedly recommend the cottage for anyone looking for a relaxing and luxury break in a beautiful setting!

Fantastic property, modern luxury in the countryside

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay and the owner couldn't have been more helpful - a delicious cake on arrival and a bottle of wine to keep us going, great recommendations of where to go for a meal and to explore, including a butcher that did lovely pies and sausage rolls to bring home and eat in front of the cosy fire.

The property is set in beautiful countryside with a gorgeous view, and is well equipped - beautiful and comfortable - amazing beds too!

All in all, couldn't recommend more highly and hope to go back!

Location

From the Owner

We bought the property because of the amazing views, and the feeling of privacy, we have landscaped the gardens ourselves from nothing , the modern courtyard to the wild flower meadow, to the hundreds of trees and bulbs we planted. It changes with the season, with lovely Autumn colour, cottage garden flowers, to modern Box hedging in the courtyard.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Parking is directly outside the cottage, within the stable yard, and is very secure. There is a barn available for bike storage. Logs are provided FOC for the wood burner . All kitchen amenities - dishwasher tablets, washing powder, basic cooking ingredients, tea, coffee, etc. are provided. If you've forgotten anything, you only have to pop over to the main house - always happy to help. Because of the close nature of the pool and a large carp pond, the property is only suitable for babies and children over 5. The courtyard area is shared with the owners, and overlooked by them as well as the cottage. I'm very sorry but we cannot take dogs. Outside: The cottage is set within 10 acres of the owner's grounds, of which approx 2 acres is garden. It is very safe and fun for children to run around in. There is a gas BBQ, table and chairs with sun umbrella outside the main entrance to the cottage, with a stunning view down the valley. The courtyard garden, has a 15' square pool. This area is shared with the owners and overlooked by both the cottage and the main house. There are wooden sun loungers with cushions, large umbrellas, and chairs. The pool area is very sheltered, and quite a sun trap. The pool is heated, from May 1st to September 30th, subject to the weather. We have 2 little Terriers, who are very child-friendly, and playful and love to run around with children. The large pond has Goldfish and Carp, for which we provide food should you wish to feed them. There is also a small rowing boat on the pond. We have 12 sheep, and 3 horses. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed Linen is egyptian cotton and there are plenty of towels including separate pool towels. Luxury bath robes are provided.
