Cottage in Deal, Kent, England - Newly launched characterful property a minute from the beach and the heart of this beautiful town

Our charming, comfy Grade II listed home, full of original period features and coastal style, is in the heart of Deal's famous Conservation area. Perfectly placed in the centre of the town, it's a step away from the "UK High Street of the Year" and within a whisper of the beach, the Pier and the Castle. As well as enjoying the "High Street of the Year" with its independent shops, vintage emporiums, restaurants, delis, quirky cafes, wine bars and pubs, you'll find Deal a great place to enjoy walking, cycling, horse riding, sailing, swimming, fishing, bowling, tennis - or simply relaxing. It's the perfect kicking off point for a day trip to France, or a visit to the beautiful historic towns and villages nearby. This little unspoiled corner of Kent is a wonderful destination for a break or holiday with friends and family any time of the year.

"Delightful cottage. Very impressed with the 'added extras', Thank you. We've really enjoyed our stay". Liz and David, May 2014.

"We wanted a home from home to show our friend (and her guide dog!) how lovely Deal is. We were so fortunate to stay in this lovely cottage in a brilliant location, where we were made to feel so welcome and comfortable. The cottage is tastefully furnished with some lovely antique touches. How thoughtful to provide bubbly, croissants and milk! Highly recommended, would love to come again - it exceeded all our expectations. Thank you. Claire and Michael Frewin, Sue Mason and Quasar." July 2014

"Many thanks for the use of your very chic holiday cottage. We've had a fabulous time exploring Deal and the surrounding area" Sue and Trevor, July 2014

Great cozy home in historic Deal

  • 5 of 5

This place was absolutely perfect for our family in every way. The living area was warm, comfortable and inviting, the two bedrooms and two baths just right for the four of us, and the kitchen was well equipped and very adequate for all of our needs. We even hosted a small dinner party for nine and everything was great. The little back patio was just right for morning coffee and our overflow dinner guests. The charming seaside town of Deal is literally just out the door and we loved exploring with this charming "home" to return to in the evenings.

Best of all, Gilly and Peter, our hosts, are the most helpful and accommodating owners we have ever dealt with! Gilly responded to every question and went so far out of her way to make our stay perfect. All of her suggestions and tips were spot on and we felt so comfortable and welcome that we all wish we could return soon.

Deals little geem

We had a great time in Deal and surrounding areas. Deal it self has lovely restaurants shops and markets. ( Right on your door steep ) Most of the time we used the busses to get around, first class services. The cottage it self is very comfortable and clean. Gilly greeted us with a warm welcome. The hamper was a nice surprise. We liked so much we intend to go again..

Lovely comfortable well equipped property.

  • 5 of 5

Loved the look of this cottage when we came across it on the website and was not disappointed when we turned up for our stay. Beautiful cottage, extras to make you feel welcome after a long drive from Cardiff nice bottle of wine, nice coffee, croissants , biscuits etc. Gilly was lovely, very professional showing us around and telling us of local recommendations. Deal itself is very charming, loved the little old narrow lanes, beautiful walks across the seafront down past Deal Castle and on to Walmer Castle, nice restaurants, pubs with live music. Its a great base to sample the historical delights of Canterbury and Sandwich, and personally, particularly enjoyed the Spitfire and Hurricane Museum in RAF Manston. Would recommend, thoroughly enjoyable.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much David. It was a real pleasure meeting you all. I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to acknowledge your kind words, I've only just seen them. Hope to see you all again. All the best, Gilly

The Bolt House by the sea was a warm and tastefully presented home that was comfortable and charming. The location right near the front was perfect for the stony beach, restaurants, ice cream, pubs and amusement arcade. Gilly the owner was exemplary in her customer care and made the booking, arriving and departing experience stress free, Thank you.
