Overview

About the property

Farmhouse in Luberon, nr. Cheval-Blanc - Rural But Not Remote

The South facing Mas is situated in it's own grounds, at the end of a private drive. Beautifully decorated, furnished and maintained there are lots of little extras and attention to detail to ensure your stay is relaxed for all guests of whatever age. Just 10 minutes drive once you have left the A7 motorway, it is conveniently positioned for easy access to all of the local attractions. We are at the west end of the Luberon National Park an area of outstanding natural beauty with easy access to the "perched villages" of Gordes, Lacoste, Bonnieux and Menerbes. The region is cycling heaven and great for walking and sightseeing too. Every season has something to offer here, the garden and surrounding countryside are lovely all year round, especially with field after field of blossom around Easter, sunflowers and then Lavender in July. The fresh produce that the farmers bring to the local markets is delicious, goat's cheese, honey, organic fruit and veg., it's truly the garden of France.

Our house is suitable for renting throughout the year as it is centrally heated and has an original log fire in the main sitting room. The weather can be quite mild during the winter months, indeed we have lunched outside most of the year albeit not everyday is suitable. This year we have added a fabulous outdoor, covered dining area with an open log fire. In the Summer it is shaded and out of direct sun and in the cooler months, with the fire on and with fur throws on the chairs, it is cosy and comfortable. It is a great time to visit the busier attractions and perfect for wine-tasting or watching the "vendange" in September/October. We would consider a reduction in rent for a long term Autumn/Winter let.

About Michelle Hyett

I work in the UK as a property developer/interior designer. I have 2 children and we have spent many happy weeks at our lovely French home entertaining family and friends and celebrating special occasions. My work, including this property, has been featured in interior magazines.

Michelle Hyett purchased this house in 2001

Why Michelle Hyett chose Cavaillon

Easy access from airports and motorway. rural but not remote. Close proximity to a village but also to a larger town with bigger supermarkets and shops. Close to lots of places of interest, we find something different every time. fantastic cycling, walking, climbing. Tennis courts nearby.

My friends joke because when they ask how far something or somewhere of interest is, I always say 20 minutes! But it's true, we are really central for everything.

What makes this house unique

Great for entertaining as there are extensive grounds and pool big enough for lots of people to swim at the same time, ideal for water polo etc!

The way the house is laid out in 2 wings makes it ideal for 2 families. For smaller parties be cosy and just use one end of the house. Also useful that there are 2 bedrooms at ground level, one with French windows to the terrace which makes it very pretty.

The master bedroom is enormous (50 sq. m), with separate sitting area and French doors to a Juliet balcony with lovely views. high ceilings and a four poster bed complete the ambiance. However, there shouldn't be an argument about who has the "best" bedroom as they all have something special or charming about them and all are spacious.

Idyllic!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a glorious week at the Mas in Luberon. The house is lovely, was spotless, and Michelle and Florence were both extremely helpful in sorting out the few small hiccups along the way. Book the chef, he was fantastic! A perfect home base for exploring Provence!

Second stay - just as amazing but better!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in this property in 2016 and loved it so much, we decided to return this year. Its a delightful property, well maintained and has everything one needs. There is now a covered BBQ area which is perfect for evening meals even in early March! Superb location, close to large supermarket etc but in a tranquil quiet area.

A fabulous, well equipped and beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

Easy to find, beautifully decorated, very well equipped for a large group. We came as a group of friends and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend the personal chef service from Herve - he and his wife were a delight. I've been to many large properties and this is definitely one of the nicest. Each bedroom is lovely and the master is jaw dropping. Michelle was very helpful and kind enough to check on us over our stay. You will not be disappointed!

Delightful farmhouse in beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We chose this farmhouse for our annual cycling holiday due to the perfect location in a stunning region. The house did not disappoint with plenty of space for 11 adults and reflected the website description and photographs perfectly. It is very well furnished and equipped so we did not require anything extra. We stayed in early March so temperature is expected to be on the cooler side but we stayed perfectly warm and the beautiful fireplace made for cosy evenings. The housekeeper is a delight and both she and the owner were incredibly helpful at all times. Whilst we try to visit different locations each year, we would have no hesitations booking again.

Perfect farmhouse charm

  • 5 of 5

The place was perfect for us. Michelle couldn't do enough to help before and during our stay and we arrived to a place that exceeded our expectations. The rooms were lovely and the kitchen was really well equipped. But the main thing for is was the outside - a wonderful dining terrace that looked magical at night and a beautifully designed loggia for shade in the day or somewhere to retreat to after dinner for an extra glass or two of the local wine. Thanks Michelle - I'm not too sure how we're going to top that holiday now!
