Sleeps 6-3 bedroom cottage. Lindisfarne Cottage is next to the larger Bamburgh House, with shared garden. All on one floor it sleeps 6, in three bedrooms: two with twins, one with double bed.It has a small ramp to the front door enabling wheelchair access. A family bathroom, open plan airy lounge facing east to the coast, with dining area and kitchen off, complete the good accommodation.The lounge has settee, chairs, large new LCD TV with DVD, radio CD, WI FI internet,electric central heating, woodburning stove (logs provided). Outside there is seating and table for 6, patio/ garden with BBQ. Car parking for 4 cars on our private land opposite. A car can reach the front door if required. Situated at the heart of Northumberland the cottage represents excellent value holidays, as we include free golf at Belford Golf Club, restaurant discounts at The Blue Bell Hotel, and free "bring your own horse" facility. Linen, towels, electricity and logs are provided.A caretaker is on hand for help!
Bamburgh House and almost adjacent Lindisfarne Cottage are situated at the entrance of Adderstone Hall Farm Steading. The Steading was the working heart of the large Adderstone Hall Estate, which dates back hundreds of years, and was the family seat of the Forsters, including Thomas Forster - a leader in the Jacobite Rebellion, and through family following Lord Armstrong of Bamburgh Castle and Cragside fame.
In farmland near the steading are underground Roman remains of a settlement-being very near the old north road to Scotland. The area is truly "The Secret Kingdom" with fantastic scenic beaches, coastline, castles hills, countryside and scenic villages with popular eating, drinking and shopping venues. The area is an obvious choice for those seeking to enjoy quiet stunning sandy beaches and dunes, walking, bird watching, sailing, fishing, kite-flying, surfing cycling and riding. The renowned Bamburgh Castle ,Alnwick Castle and Gardens, The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Farne Islands, other castles, Cragside, Chillingham with its`Wild Cattle are all nearby. Riding facilities are close-with a good hack to and on Bamburgh beach being superb. We offer special arrangements so you can bring your own horse (we can accommodate-with ringed pasture) unlimited FREE golf at Belford Golf club, and discounts in the restaurant at the much enjoyed Blue Bell Hotel in Belford.
Nearby, Belford Village ( the old market town for North Northumberland) has shops, a supermarket, post office, medical and dental practices, pharmacy , pubs, golf club with good food, and music sessions, hotel - with good bar, bistro and restaurant, church and visitor centre. Large national supermarkets are in Alnwick (15 mins to south) and Berwick, to the north. Alnwick is the seat of The Duke of Northumberland and has many shops, banks, and a Sports Centre with swimming pool. The location is superb-being very accessible to Belford, Bamburgh, the A1 and cost road which takes you north to Eyemouth, Berwick and south to Alnmouth and Amble - taking in the breathtaking Holy Island and Farnes. The coastline boasts some excellent golf courses eg Goswick, Alnmouth, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Foxton-as well as a number of sea food restaurants. To the north Salmon and Trout fishing are superb on the Tweed and Till. 400 yards away, the Service Station sells petrol, papers, food, fresh milk etc. The area is steeped in history including the "birth " of Christianity in this country - with St Cuthbert, Oswald and Aidan living here. Traditional music is vibrant in the local area - with sessions in Belford at The Golf club and Blue Bell Hotel. Hospitality, help and humour are the norm with Northumbrians! Guests can see dolphins, puffins, seals, numerous sea birds-on the local boat trips to The Farne Islands.
The house is large and airy, with parking for 8 cars to the front on private ground, new double glazing, carpets and gas central heating with combi-boiler, it has two lounges-one doubling as the main large dining room, 6 bedrooms, a small dining area off the first lounge, two family bathrooms, recess area off the hall with piano and computer, store cupboard housing "spares", many books (we are happy for paper back exchanges), family games, lawned garden shared with the smaller Lindisfarne Cottage. Seating and dining is organised for 18-in two dining areas-making group / family large groups ideal-all in one place! We often cater for numerous family, friends and university group reunions successfully. Having let it from 2005, we are reletting from JUNE 2014 along with Lindisfarne Cottage after carrying out improvements over the last year and is thus "just" on the market. Given it is a standard, rural, comfortable house, with all facilities but with the added benefit of free local golf, restaurant discounts, free " bring your horse" facility-it represents good, comfortable and economical holidays for families and groups.
We can house 400 yards away-large items eg bikes, canoes, kayaks etc in stores at Adderstone Hall. Our caretaker can provide-subject to availability- fresh eggs. The farm has also provided meat, vegetables and eggs to the Blue Bell Restaurant. The lounge has leather settees, chairs, large new LCD TV with DVD, CD/ RADIOS and a woodburning stove. Lounge 2 has a large dining table, sitting 12, with settee, chair and large LCD TV, DVD. Bedrooms are fully furnished-4 with twin beds, 2 with doubles.The house is all electric with electric central heating, wood burning stove ( logs provided),no gas present in the area, has a shared lawned garden with patio area, BBQ s, outside tables, chairs for 12, child items, and is gated for enclosed space. Linen and towels are provided, and the rental price includes electricity and logs for the wood burning stove. Our caretaker lives 400 yards away and is always helpful meaning guests rarely have to wait to resolve any problem or snagging issue. A small "welcome pack" with fresh milk is provided. At the heart of beautiful countryside, with so many facilities on hand and outdoor sports and attractions and wild life, our large accommodation offers a superb holiday!
The non smoking properties are popular, with large groups, and have cot / high chair, and abundance of books, games, FREE WIFI and computer, piano, room to seat 18 for dining.

From childhood-renting a caravan near Bamburgh I have adored this beautiful area-known as the "Secret Kingdom".Walks and cycling in the area, on the fantastic beaches of Bamburgh, and over to Holy Island remain as very happy memories.
My whole family adore the area now-for beautiful countryside, castles, coast line, superb golf courses, sailing , fishing and the ambience and good food and pubs!
Fortunately I was able from later in the 1990`s to purchase and develop into good holiday accommodation houses we use, and now offer for holiday guests to share our passion for the area.All guests remind us how lucky we are in this delightful area of England-steeped in history, near Scotland, convenient for the A1 and trains, airport and good roads.We hope you share our enthusiasm!

Reservations are via e mail and phone. A 30% deposit is paid on booking together with refundable deposit.Balances are due 8 weeks prior to the booking.We have a standard booking information sheet and conditions which are down loadable.Payment can be made by BACS or debit card: if by cheque the booking cannot be confirmed until cheque clearance.
SATURDAYS: Arrivals after 4.00pm departures by 10 am, unless by agreement.
Out of season we offer breaks as: FRI TO MONDAY 65% OF WEEKLY COST
MON TO THURS 65% OF WEEKLY COST. We have a key collect system plus coded safe for key in emergency.

loved the whereabouts of the property close to everywhere we wanted to visit
the cottage was lovely and convenient for the surrounding areas
went with children , was disappointed that they had awood burning stove but no fireguard . it was open to the children. the sofa and chairs were also a liability as when you sat on it the cushions slipped off and were dangerous for the children and when you sat down on the chair it went flying back. the most annoying thing was that we could not get the internet. someone came out but could not get it working said they would get in touch with the server but still had no internet for thewholeof our stay.
I wouldlove to stay at this property again but would think twice about taking the children to this property and would be expecting this time no internet so would not take any work with me..
My friends and I stayed in the cottage for 2 nights, we had a great time. It had everything we needed; was in a great location and we will definitely be going back.
A lovely cottage in a good location
This is a lovely cottage to stay in to explore the Northumbrian Coastline. We were well looked after by the caretaker who left us tea, coffee, milk and biscuits for our arrival along with a lit log burner which was very welcome on a cold February day!
A nice roomy cottage in a very convenient location.We were made to feel welcomed and invited along to a very enjoyable folk night at the Blue Bell hotel in Belford village,a real foot tapping evening.The area around was quiet and peaceful but within reach of interesting towns and activities.

We provide golfing holidays-with free unlimited use of the Belford Golf club course.We are able to offer "horse" accommodation in ringed pasture land-offering superb local hacking and down to Bamburgh beach-being a " must" for riders.
For sporting enthusiasts with eg canoes, kayaks etc we can store such.
Many guests meet for reunions here-and we have abundant parking, and being "hands-on" we do try to help in every way.
The superb Bamburgh beach with golden soft sand-unspoilt and rarely busy-is only 3 miles away on the Bamburgh Rd, some 6 minutes away by car.THe excellent coast line north and south eg to Holy Island is likewise a short drive.Further south Alnmouth, Amble and Seahouses are minutes away by car.
Newcastle Airport 45 miles.
TRains-Alnmouth nearby and Berwick.THe area is near the main East coast Line-London to Edinburgh.
A bus route from Newcastle to Belford is nearby.However car is preferable

BAMBURGH is 3 mls to the east, Alnwick 15 minutes by car to the south, with Castle Gardens, banks , supermarkets etc.

Belford offers golf, shops, good food, etc and is 2 mls away.
BAnks are in Alnwick and Berwick but thee is a cash machine at the service station.
So many areas of attraction and interest are on hand-particularly castles, hills, Chillingham Cattle, Farne Islands, Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Cheviot Hills, the Borders, Berwick and Alnwick.Leisure activities are numerous and include walking, cycling, sailing, bird watching, riding, kite-flying etc.

Car parking privately to the front for 4 cars, and garden with BBQ and outside accommodation. All on one level-so wheelchair access is possible. Outside: The lawned garden is shared between BAmburgh House and LIndisfarne Cottage, with shrubs surrounding it, and a pebbled patio.GArden chairs for a total of 18 , with tables, child items, BBQ s etc complete the outside facility.Car parking on the private drive opposite is plentiful. The non smoking property has been a let for many families, often together with Bamburgh House, but can be rented on its` own.One "well mannered" pet is allowed. We can provide cot and high chair at no additional cost.
