Bron y Garth Hall is an impressive manor house that overlooks a spectacular estuary with one of the best views in North Wales. There are three holiday properties.

Sandbanks - sleeps 6

This is a south facing, self-contained wing with spectacular views from every room. Both the sitting room with its large picture window and the dining room are spacious with high ceilings. There is a modern kitchen with ceramic hob cooker, fridge freezer and dishwasher: there is a washing machine in the cloakroom. There are three bedrooms, again with spectacular views, and a bathroom and a shower room. The accommodation is on the first and second floors taking advantage of the breathtaking views. It has its own private entrance and private parking.

The Coach House - sleeps 6

This is a recent renovation with modern features and a private courtyard. There is an en suite double bedroom on the ground floor and two other bedrooms, one double and one twin). There is a large double height sitting/dining room with vaulted ceiling and patio doors onto the courtyard. The modern kitchen is fully equipped- cooker, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher. The private courtyard is great for sunbathing, outside dining and is a safe play area. There are views from its garden.

Glaslyn - sleeps 4

This is our simplest property and has modern decoration and a large balcony with views. The large sitting room on the first floor has french doors opening onto the balcony. There are two bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a bathroom with bath/shower and wc. The downstairs kitchen comes with a dining area.

All the properties have ample private parking and access to the gardens with their spectacular views.

Our changeover day is Saturday.

Disappointing and not as described

We were extremely disappointed with Sandbanks at Bron y Garth Hall. The standard of decorations and items of furniture and bedding were not as described in the pictures on the website. In our opinion the apartment is in need of some care and attention in relation to cracked plaster, worn carpets and a taped up light switch. We felt let down by this as we had based our decision to book Sandbanks largely on the appeal of the photographs. The standard of cleaning was not as expected, there were cobwebs in the majority of rooms and the living room carpet needed hoovering/cleaning. Prior to booking we stated that we had toddlers. We were told that the property had stairs and that the children would need to be supervised in the garden. However, upon arrival we were horrified to find, broken glass in the garden-in close proximity to the front door, a glass sheet coffee table in the living room (different to the one in the picture with a rounded wooden frame), full length windows opened from the floor level on the 1st floor , out of date PAT testing on selected plugs and incorrectly fitted smoke alarms. The dead bolt for the front door has been removed and in our opinion the single Yale lock was not enough to firmly secure the properties large double doors. The property has fantastic views but unfortunately we didn't feel relaxed enough to enjoy them.

Owner's Response: We have been letting Sandbanks for 15 years. This year we have welcomed 25 families: many are retiring guests and many have booked again for 2017. We fully check the property before guests arrive, and we operate a policy 'if a guest raises a concern then we deal with it immediately'. Fortunately, this happens very rarely, but when it does the guests tell us and we act. In the case of this reviewer, the guest mentioned nothing at all to us while he was here. What he did do was contact us when he had returned home, and say that unless we made a payment to him he would write a bad review. We refute the assertions he makes in the review and we will not succumb to this kind of threat. Instead we will continue to ensure that our guests have great holidays, as those that have stayed with us both before and after the reviewer have done.
