The acommodation is the whole of the lower floor of our house. It has a large kitchen / diner, lounge, three bedrooms and bathrooms, air con in bedrooms.The lounge opens up to a covered patio area with al fresco dining. . Large bedrooms South west facing garden so you have the sun all day .We have an unheated pool with a private sunbathing area and plenty of shade. The two larger bedrooms have direct access outside.

About the Owner

We live in Solihull, West Midlands. We intend to make the Port de Soller our second home following our retirements. We bought the house because we have friends living nearby and because we enjoy the climate, walking and cycling in this area. The house to house journey is extremely convenient for us, we can leave home at six in the morning and be in the Port by midday - including a stop at Lidl in Palma to stock up with necessities. The Port provides all the amenities you expect and has a wide range of eating opportunities. We have yet to try the Jumeira Spa hotel which is less than 10 minutes walk from our house.

Fantastic location, excellently well equipped

We are a couple in our late 50's and holidayed with another couple who are friends of similar age. We had a fabulous time staying at Mike and Carol's at the end of June/beginning of July and could not fault their welcome, friendly help and willingness to provide information about the nearby restaurants, shops and walking in the scenic Tramuntana Mountains.

The property sits on the side of the hill, overlooking Porte Soller and the view from the poolside is absolutely stunning. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk into the Porte where a selection of good restaurants and shops is readily accessible. The walk back is a little more arduous as it is all uphill but an excellent way to work off a rather too generous meal!

The property was very well equipped and offered everything (and more!) you could wish for when occupying a holiday villa - from sun loungers and cushions, plenty of towels right through to the excellent selection of kitchen equipment, coffee maker and all the essentials to get you started such as washing up liquid, scourers and so forth. Everywhere is well maintained and there are a variety of comfortable sofas and tables to make life easy whilst on holiday. There was a television and other facilities but we did not use these during our stay.

All in all we had a lovely time and used the property as the base for visits around the area to places such as Deia, Valldemossa and walking in the Tramuntana mountains. Thanks Mike and Carol - we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely return.

We had an amazing stay!

We had an amazing stay. Mike and Carol are very kind and helpful hosts. The property exceeded our expectations; each room has a very nice bathroom with a big shower in it, the beds are very comfortable, the rooms are spacious with a good working airco. We also really loved the garden with the private pool, from where you have a very beautiful view of the harbor and the mountains, this because the house is located on a hill. The center of Port Soller is also in walking distance, with enough supermarkets nearby for the daily (breakfast) shoppings and good restaurants for dinner.

Moreover, Port Soller is a great base for cycle racing. We cycled for two days through the Tramontana mount.

We really recommend to stay at Mike and Carol's house!!!

Great property 10 minutes walk from the beach

We stayed as a party of 6 for 6 nights before moving on to Illetas for a hotel stay. To be honest we wish we had stayed the whole duration of our holiday in Puerto de Soller.

The accommodation occupies the bottom floor of the villa and with 3 sizeable bedrooms and 3 bathrooms there was plenty of room for all. The kitchen and lounge open via folding doors onto a large covered dining terrace which flows out to the private pool with outstanding views of the port- the layout is perfect for outdoor living and eating.

Don't worry about facilities- we couldn't think of anything that wasn't to hand in the accommodation and during our stay Mike and Carol were in residence above us on the first floor. They were superb hosts- we did not see too much of them and they were never intrusive but always available if needed to help out or give advice or recommendations about the town and surroundings. You can walk to the beach in 10 minutes and the town itself is enchanting.

It's by no means high rise but has plenty of bars and restaurants and a fabulous beach, there are tourists about but it still feels Spanish and the continual presence of the trams on the pedestrianised promenade give the resort a really authentic feel.

Would I recommend the accommodation? Absolutely! If you want quality accommodation in a superb location surrounded by outstanding beauty then this could be the one for you.

Location

We bought our house because it enjoys great views over the Bay of Soller and the mountains toward Deia. The pool provides us with the chance to refresh after a summer walk or bike ride. Local facilities are a short walk away though the house is located in a quiet residential area. The house is well located for a number of short local walks.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Barpub : Nautilus Bar at 0.4 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Port de Soller at 0.5 Kilometres Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

The main beach which is sandy is no more than 12 minutes walk from the house, the Repic beach is approximately 20 minutes walk away. Both beaches have easy access to restaurants, cafes, local supermarkets and the Soller tram.

Travel:

Palma airport is 35 minute drive away on good roads approx. 34 Km. It is accessible by bus through Palma. The standard taxi fare is €44 each way.

Distances:

Access to the port with its bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and beaches is 7/ 10 minutes away walking. Soller town is a 15 minutes drive, but is also accessible by tram or walking. Palma is a 35/40 minute drive or an hour by train. Deia and Valldemossa are a 30 minute drive.

Further Details:

There are many restaurants and shops in the port and numerous mini supermarkets where you can buy a wide range of meats, vegetables, bread and general provisions. There is a local market held every Thursday morning selling local produce, there are two specialist deli and a fish shop. There are also restaurants near by who do take away local food.

Outside: We have a private swimming pool (7.8 x 3.4m) which is maintained regularly, a secluded south west facing garden, with sun beds and loungers, sun shades. Utility Room: Located outside of the house with washing machine. external rotary dryer, laundry basket. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned at the end of each stay.
