A modern, comfortable apartment situated in beautiful countryside and with full use of the owner's lovely garden. The area is a walker's paradise with footpaths leading from the property to the mountains and around the delightful town of Hay-on-Wye.Near to Offa's Dyke long distance path.The property has one bedroom but is fully equipped for four people. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room. Off road parking available together with secure cycle storage.

About Mrs Sandra Sheldon

We have lived at Lansdowne ever since moving to the area from Nottingham in 2001 and can't imagine living anywhere else. The scenery is amazing, the walks are incredible and the nearness of the lovely little town of Hay-on-Wye is an added bonus.

Why Mrs Sandra Sheldon chose West Midlands

After many years of visiting the area we decided to move here and fell in love with our house Lansdowne, which was being run as a bed and breakfast.The house is in a perfect position with stunning views and a beautiful garden. In 2008 we built the self-contained annexe with the purpose of using it for holiday lets as we were aware that more and more people preferred to have self-catering holidays.

Lovely and peaceful

I just needed a quiet space for some work planning, reading and thinking.

The Lansdowne Annexe was perfect for what I wanted. Small Lounge/Kitchen, Comfortable bedroom and bathroom - all as described. I had to be rescued when my key broke in the front door locking me in, but Stuart came to my rescue within minutes and I was free!

Walking to town was just 10 minutes for (fit but middle-aged) me, might be longer for others, and it is up and down hill.

There's a lovely little church at the top of the lane which you should definitely check out.

And finally, don't book the weeks when I'll next be wanting to stay!

lovely stay

We couldn't use the full three days due to illness, but the apartment is lovely,warm and inviting. Great facilities and few nice welcoming touches, chocolates etc. Nice view to rear of apartment. Probably best in the summer months as was a fair way to walk to Hay on Wye. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully return later in the year.

Owner's Response: Really sorry your stay was cut short by illness and hope you can come again later in the year.Regarding the walk into Hay I'm not sure whether you found the short cut across the fields. It is less than a mile and takes approximately 12-15mins to walk.

Lovely quaint cottage in beautiful surroundings

What a lovely place to stay, excellent walks from the doorstep. Cottage was well presented and very clean and so very cosy. Highly recommend it and would love to come back and do some more walking. If you're looking to chill on holiday then look no further.

Very comfortable apartment accurately described with off road parking

We booked Lansdowne last minute for 3 nights as we wanted to spend a couple of days in this area. It was v comfortable, clean and in a convenient position in walking distance to Hay. We also had our little dog so it was 'dog friendly' too. Beautiful position with views and use of the garden. There was plenty of info for guests about things to do around the area.

Relaxing short break at Lansdowne annexe.

A really relaxing short break. The accomodation was very clean and we really enjoyed the cosy feel (especially the underfloor heating ). The kitchen and bathroom were well maintained and provided everything you needed. The accomodation was quiet and the surrounding countryside beautiful and we enjoyed walking into Hay on Wye. I would definitely recommend Lansdowne annexe.

Peaceful , very comfortable and stunning countryside.

We were very impressed with everything about Lansdowne. Having travelled extensively we can say that this is a real gem! Beautiful countryside, Very pleasant hosts who were happy for us to bring our Yorkshire terrier. The accommodation ticks every box and we look forward to having an opportunity to visit again in the near future. We can't recommend Landsdowne highly enough.. Jessica & Nick Langston

The apartment has a large, airy open plan sitting/dining/kitchen with wooden flooring and benefits from underfloor central heating. The sitting area has a flat screen TV with freeview and DVD player. Guests will find a good selection of books, maps and information about the local area. Outside: There is a lovely, large garden to the rear of the property which is part of the owners adjoining guest house. Guests are very welcome to use it and will find several seating areas complete with tables and chairs. A BBQ is available on request. The garden looks out over open countryside and is a peaceful haven to have breakfast or to enjoy a glass of wine after a good day exploring the area or walking in the Black Mountains.
