About the property

Cottage in Southwold, Suffolk, England - A Stones Throw From The Beach And Around 3 Minutes Walk To The Town

Lighthouse View in Southwold is a comfortable and welcoming holiday cottage sleeping four people in two bedrooms. This early-Victorian cottage is by St.James' Green in the very heart of this attractive coastal town. From the front door it is just yards to the promenade and sea.

Not only does Lighthouse View offer an excellent holiday location but Southwold's landmark lighthouse stands just over the wall of the cottage's rear courtyard. The fully-operational lighthouse is accessed from nearby Stradbroke Road and is open on certain dates for visitors to climb up to the top to enjoy the wonderful views. Children (and perhaps adults) will be captivated by the gentle rotation of the lights from the lighthouse in the evening.

Car parking is freely available in the immediate area. Indeed you may park your car on arrival and not use it again throughout your stay.

Owners Russ and Sue are happy to share their delightful cottage with holidaymakers who would love to experience this wonderful location in the charming town of Southwold. Children over 4 years are welcome as is one well-behaved dog.

For the young and the young at heart this super seaside cottage has so much to offer.

About Russell Hall

Owners Russ and Sue are pleased to share their delightful cottage with holidaymakers who would love to experience this wonderful location in the charming town of Southwold. Children over 4 years are welcome as is one well-behaved dog.

Russell Hall purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Russell Hall chose Southwold

After much dreaming over the last 10 years or so of owning a holiday home by the sea we finally made our dream a reality when we bought Lighthouse View in October 2013!

Our whole family fell in love with the property as soon as we set foot in it - it just felt right! Our children were also mesmerised by the views of the iconic lighthouse from the rear bedroom which they have claimed!

What makes this cottage unique

Lighthouse View is ideally located with the beach with it's famous coloured beach huts being a stones throw away, our favourite pub - The Sole Bay Inn being a few doors away and the town being a mere three minutes approx on foot!

Fantastic Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Such a beautiful cottage with lots of charm.

When we arrived we were able to park right out side, the cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.

You couldn’t ask for a better location, the sea is literally on the doorstep and all amenities a short walk.

The beds are extremely comfy with quality bedding, and we loved the feature bath in the main bedroom.

The owner was great to deal with and very accommodating.

We love this cottages and will defiantly be back. Thank you.

Fantastic winter weekend break

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful little cottage, well designed, relaxed family feel. Home from Home, well stocked, warm and comfortable. Very close to beach, peer and shops. Definitely coming back. It’s so nice that the dog can come to and that Southwold is so dog friendly.

Comfortable, cosy and clean cottage by the sea.

  • 5 of 5

Very much enjoyed our stay. Certainly can recommend this cottage. Very clean,. Shows lot's of thought, care and time has gone into the restoration and upkeep of this small house. Everything you need is there: good bed, nice bathroom, shower and bath, kitchen is well equipped. Recommend to buy some fresh fish at Samatha K's along the Southwold harbour and cook it up in this very "cute" kitchen. Beach is only 3 min away. In town plenty of places to shop, eat and taste the now extensive variety of Adnams offerings. Get's a bit busy on the weekends and during season but a wonderful get away other times. Excellent walks along the beach and into the marches. And you always find your way home having the lighthouse in the garden. Host is great in responding quickly and answering questions.

Beautiful cottage, would recommend unreservedly.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was beautiful. Spotlessly clean, nice comfortable beds, all the facilities you could wish for. Southwold is a lovely place, if only we lived closer and could visit more often. There was everything here we wanted for a wonderful relaxing seaside holiday. None of the shouting, chanting drunks you find in some larger resorts. Lovely old shops and pubs, and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.
