About the property

Cottage in Clynnog Fawr, Caernarfon, North Wales - Quiet Location 10 Minutes Stroll To Beach

The cottage has a living room, kitchen/diner, utility room and three bedrooms: a double, a twin bedded room and a room with a bunk bed, separate toilet and bathroom. It can sleep six people but the top bunk is only suitable for pre-teens.

Please note that we book from Friday to Fridays although we can be flexible outside main holiday periods.

The cottage was built probably in the Nineteenth century to house farm workers from the nearby Glynliffion Estate. It is built in the traditional Welsh roughstone fashion cool in Summer and cosy in Winter. Located in the small village of Clynnog Fawr which is of equal distance from Caernarfon and Pwllheli. Clynnog Fawr is dominated by the beautiful Fifteenth century church of St.Beuno and the cottage has stunning views directly across to it and beyond to the Irish Sea. Located just a short drive from the A499 travel to other parts of the Llyn and North Wales is quick and easy. The property was upgraded from its 1970's time warp a few years ago but has tried to retain many of the original features. Sympathetically restored it also has a garden and seating area and all mod cons for a relaxing stay in a beautiful part of North Wales. The beach is a short walk away.

About Dave Cousans

We are a married couple living in England but with lifelong attachments to North Wales. A few hours drive and we can be in a different country and a different world.

Dave Cousans purchased this cottage in 2003

Why Dave Cousans chose Clynnog

We had spent a couple of holidays staying in the village of Clynnog Fawr and liked the location. Handy for walking to the beach and visiting relatives which we have in North Wales. The Llyn Peninsula is an unspoilt beautiful part of North Wales often overlooked and with great walks with sea all around. It has the original celtic spirit and is steeped in Welsh history.

What makes this cottage unique

We love the chance to relax and get away from hectic lifestyles. The scenery is wonderful being so far West you will find some of the best sunsets you will ever witness. This bit of Wales seems to have its own climate wild and wet and then mellow and mild a season often in one day.

Brilliant location with a hill to climb from your back door offering the best views ever.

Perfect for us lot. The kids loved the bunk beds. I loved the utility room, where I stripped them down after a soggy beach afternoon. Lovely shower, all round home from home. Quiet location with a superb shop and a very interesting church with a wedding on whilst we were there. Too much choice for things to do, driving no more than 40 minutes to a day full of activities. Lots of national trust beauties. The beaches on the peninsula are fab and we found a few good pubs. The girls were happy for an entire day at Gypsy wood. Thanks Dave, we will be back!
