About L Moir

I live in Scotland with my husband and 3 children. Our holiday home has been my project and we have fully renovated the house. Its a wonderful place and I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

L Moir purchased this cottage in 2014

Why L Moir chose Ellingham

We wanted a quiet rural property close to the North Northumberland Heritage Coast but also easy access to Alnwick and the A1.

What makes this cottage unique

Easy access to coast and castles and then return to the lovely tranquillity of the cottage to rest and relax.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Can’t begin to tell you what a fantastic weekend we had in your brilliant holiday house. Such an incredible location, superb amount of space and so well equipped. We did loads of exploring but barely scratched the surface so we’ll be returning later in the year. Just wandering round the village chatting to the wide variety of animals and your neighbours was really lovely. Really nice local pub too!"

Debbie B, Edinburgh, Short Break June 2014.

“Brilliant Northumberland Cottage in an excellent location. I found 2 Church Row to be a welcoming, comfortable cottage, equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The cottage is in a quiet rural setting. Great for getting away from it all, but close enough to the beautiful coastline and towns to access the best that the local area has to offer.”

Michael M, Dundee, Short Break March 2014

“2 Church Row Newham was a perfect place for a family gathering. The house is just lovely, - so fresh and welcoming. It ticked every box for adults wanting to relax and a child friendly garden for children to enjoy.”?

lovely well equipped cottage in beautiful peaceful surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous cottage well equipped ! we had an 18 month old boy with us who loved all the toys and playing out in the garden.

Lovely area with lots of beaches only a short drive away.

Local pub The Pack Horse is well worth a visit, as is The Jolly Fisherman at Craster.

Many thanks for a great holiday.

Holiday cottage in Newham near Seahouses

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Garden a sun trap. Perfectly positioned for easy access to Seahouses, Bamburgh, Holy Island, Low Newton-By-Sea and Craster. Easy access to A1, too, inland for the Cheviots, Rothbury, Cragside and Alnwick gardens. Wonderful walking and scenery but many alternatives depending on tastes. Food excellent at Craster, Low Newton (own brewery), High Newton pubs and the Ship in Seahouses but book. Tried to eat at the Tree House in Alnwick Gardens but fully booked. Would love to stay again.

A fantastic cottage in a fabulous location

  • 5 of 5

26 September – 3 October 215. We had a fantastic holiday at No 2 Church Row, the cottage was well equipped and spacious and clean. It is very peaceful and set in a small hamlet, it was great waking up in the morning pulling the curtains and seeing nothing but bright blue skies, green fields and sheep. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the Northumberland coast, moors and surrounding hills. A great place to stay if you are visiting Northumberland, we will certainly be recommending it to family and friends and would definitely stay again if we consider another holiday in Northumberland.

Lovely property, beautiful, peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a lovely weekend at this beautiful property. We have young children and the cottage was really well equipped for their needs, including toys, cutlery and plastic plates and cups! The lovely gardens were safe for them to play in and the cottage itself is beautifully furnished and spacious.

Beautiful cottage in breathtaking Northumberland

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a thoroughly enjoyable trip to Northumberland - which was enhanced by staying in a very cosy, comfortable, well equipped and maintained cottage at No.2 Church Row. The cottage is located in a beautiful, tranquil spot within easy reach of the coast - either by car or as we did bicycle - and an excellent local pub - the Pack Horse Inn in Ellingham. It is spotlessly clean and very comfortable with plenty of room and excellent furnishings. Lots, and I mean lots, of information on things to do and see. Outside two lovely gardens (front and back) catch the sun all day, with a barbecue area to boot. We all came back recharged and will be back again - Lynn provides a great level of service and we would all recommend a stay at this lovely cottage.

Lovely Family Christmas

  • 4 of 5

My family and I spent a wonderful Christmas week at Church Row.

The cottage was very cosy and more than spacious enough for 6 adults, the photos do not give a true reflection of the size of the rooms. We cooked Christmas dinner in the beautiful kitchen and the two reception rooms allowed us all to relax afterwards. A quick drive to Seahouses and Alnwick allowed us to do some sight seeing and shopping but the countryside around the cottage is beautiful, we walked to the coast in a couple of hours taking in all the wildlife. We were lucky to have clear nights, and the night sky was spectacular, well worth wrapping up with a mulled wine to see.

We would highly recommend 2 Church Row to anyone looking for a relaxing break in the Northumberland countryside. We'll certainly be coming back.
