Les Genévriers is set on a quiet leafy street in the small village of Seigy, just beside St Aignan sur Cher, with views across open countryside. This lovely detached house retains a traditional French feel with sous sol and shutters whilst providing all modern comforts. The village has its own restaurant, tennis court and play park and there is a fishing pond, shop,bar and restaurant at Chateauvieux, a few minutes down the road. Wildlife abounds in this vicinity! The house is within walking distance to the centre of St Aignan sur Cher. (3 minutes by car!) St Aignan has shops, bars and restaurants, a cinema, water sports, swimming pool, chateau, church and the famous Zoo Parc de Beauval. There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area including the Loire chateaux, aquariums, Futuroscope, the historic city of Blois with its stunning chateau, museums, cathedral, abbey and basilica, the royal town of Amboise with its chateau, medieval streets and pageants, the medieval town of Loches and Bourges with renowned cathedral and stained glass windows. Being the 'Garden of France' opportunities abound for wine tasting at local vineyards, enjoying local produce such as cheese, frequenting local markets, cooking or eating out at the many excellent restaurants.

A great house for a family holiday

A great house in a lovely location. Les Genévriers completely fitted the bill for our family holiday – two sets of grandparents, parents and two children aged 9 and 6. Everything is provided including puzzles, board games and a TV (for DVD player) in the first floor games room. If you are desperate for UK television, take a portable device as it is possible to connect via the internet. The house is on a quiet road on the edge of the village of Seigy. The walk to the town of St Aignan-sur-Cher is along a main road but only takes about 20 minutes – 5 minutes to drive and park! The children loved the riverside beach at Montrichard (about 10 miles) and we spent a super day at the Beauval Zoo situated about 10 minutes away. There were the many Chateaux of the Loire Valley and old cities such as Loches, Blois & Tours within easy reach. The owners, Moira and David, are charming and it was a pleasure to meet them on linen change day!

Les Genevriers

Les Genevriers is an airy family-sized house with a garden and games room, well-equipped but not cluttered. Welcoming and clean, even vases of flowers!

In a quiet village, but close to town - St. Aignan has at least 3 boulangeries (one open on Sunday) and 2 supermarkets, several restaurants and a swimming pool (outdoor, heated, with indoor kiddies pool) and a play area on the river island. The Zooparc de Beauval and many nearby chateaux all good to visit - we went to Valencay and the Parc de MiniChateaux (all 41 of them!)

Castles of the Loire

We really like the situation of Les Genévriers and the access it provides to all that the region has to offer. It is also a good place to relax and enjoy the good weather! Built in 1975, it is a traditional french house built on a sous sol (basement), with a lovely garden. It also has a large wooded area for adventures!
