The property is very private but only a short car-hop down the hill to the beaches of La Croix, Cavalaire and Gigaro, with many lovely restaurants and bars, and only 12km from the delights and pizazz of St Tropez. There is a short and beautiful drive direct across the hilltops past the beautiful villages of Gassin and Ramatuelle, to St Tropez, avoiding the heavier coastal traffic during high season. The house has recently undergone a number of renovations with more planned in the future. The villa is typical of the Var region, with soft terracotta render, terracotta tiled roof and shuttered external doors and windows. There is a driveway behind secure remote controlled gates (particularly good for keeping in adventurous children!) with parking for up to 3 cars. Visitors must ring the bell located at these gates. The “front” door is situated at the back of the house and after a small internal lobby leads into an open plan kitchen living room. Large French windows lead to a partly covered sitting area with the effect of one continuous living space particularly in the clement months (of which of course there are many). Under-floor heating and an open fireplace makes a cosy living area for those staying early or late in the year. Inside dining seats up to 8 people and outdoor up to 12. There is full WiFi and satellite TV. The covered loggia area beyond the living room offers complete protection in the (unlikely) event of rain and looks out over the Bay towards the Îles d'Or. The villa is also within easy reach of many beautiful villages towns and cities, including Port Grimuad, Grimaud Village, Port Cogolin, Cogolin, St Tropez, Cannes, Grasse, Mougins, St Paul de Vence, the Gorges of Verdun, Nice (all to the west) and Le Lavandou, Hyeres, Toulon to the east. La Croix Valmer 1km, Cavaliere 4km, Grimaud, Port Grimaud, Cogolin, Gassin and Ramatuelle all between 5-10km and St Tropez 14km. Gassin, Ramatuelle and St Tropez all accessible by hill route direct from La Croix Valmer avoiding busy high season coast road.

Further Details:

La Croix Valmer has excellent facilities with many independent food shops and boutiques as well as several small supermarkets, a large tabac, post office, doctors surgery, pharmacy and police station! Good range of restaurants and bars in the village and on the La Croix beaches. Excellent Sunday market and events at the recently built amphitheatre. Other nearby villages offer a range of events and nightlife and St Tropez's world famous market is held on Saturdays.

Deposit on booking of 25% (non refundable). Balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure. Electricity extra for heating during winter lets and when pool heating is in use. Damage deposit of £1500 payable with balance, returned after your stay once the house has been checked.

Changeover Day:
Friday change-over arrival 3pm, departure 10am. Some flexibility may be available on change over day.

It is similarly lovely at night with the lights of the harbour of Cavalaire across the water, lighthouse on the Îles d'Or and the odd stupendous electric storm at sea.

A raised outdoor dining area above the pool offers stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean with occasional fire works across the bay on special events such as Bastille Day (14 July). It is similarly lovely at night with the lights of the harbour of Cavalaire across the water, lighthouse on the Îles d'Hyères and the odd stupendous electric storm at sea. The pool has a part terraced / part deck surround suitable for extended lounging and a pool house in which to store unsightly plastic toys and inflatables at the end of the day. Plans for a summer kitchen / bar and separate pool shower and WC are afoot for 2015. A pool cleaner and gardener visits once a week. Utility Room: Separate utility with washer and dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, linen and pool towels included and changed weekly. 4 hours weekly cleaning included and weekly pool cleaner / gardener. Guests requested to bring their own beach towels. Further cleaning by arrangement.
