La Napoule seaside villa - Peaceful location, just a few minutes walk to the beaches and village centre

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION – LA NAPOULE is a “little gem” that lies in the heart of the French Riviera, just along the coast from Cannes. It has its own marinas, beaches, castle, golf course, rivers and railway station – all within a few minutes walk. The village has quaint bars and restaurants, certainly a dozen within walking distance. There is also a weekly market, a local supermarket and a newsagent that sells international papers. Take the two-tier air-conditioned train and hug the coastline journeying to Italy (1 hr +) via Cannes, Juan-les-Pins, Nice, Antibes and Monaco to name but a few. Journey in the other direction to Marseilles. There are some other wonderful inland villages and scenery too. Mougins, Biot, Ez, St Paul de Vence, Valbonne and St Tropez are all on the doorstep. Hire a boat and nip over to the islands that lie opposite or anchor off the numerous nearby bays. The VILLA is in a quiet back water of the village – very near to the sea front and rivers. There are lovely walks along the coast or inland. The villa is situated on a "no through road" and so is very quiet - with no passing traffic.. Wi-Fi is provided FREE of charge.

There are numerous watersports available on your doorstep. You can hire weight boards, kayaks, dinghies, kite-surfing, powerboats etc.. and also receive instruction at the local nautical centre.

About Paul & Sue

Sue and Paul originate from Cheshire but now live in the south of France. They have had a property on the French Riviera for 8 years. Sue and Paul still have connections in the UK and spend their summers and Christmas' there. In France they love all that the south coast has to offer. The numerous sandy bays and beaches. The pretty villages both seaside and inland. The long, lazy and relaxed lunches with a glass of the local Rose. The buzz of Cannes, Nice and St Tropez. The outdoor markets selling local produce. Going out on the sea with friends. Exploring the numerous nearby villages (many mediaeval). Visiting Italy and nearby French Regions. See for yourselves!!!

Why Paul & Sue chose Mandelieu-La Napoule

We original came to the south of France, together, about 15 years ago. We loved what it had to offer and so decided to buy an "escape" home here. We spent several years scouring the coastline of the Riviera, looking for the perfect location. We wanted to be by the sea, live in a typical quaint French village and be able to walk to places that we use. High on our requirement list was being able to walk to beaches for a swim, be able to walk to restaurants and bars, have easy access to the airport and large towns and have good public transport facilities. We found La Napoule - what a gem!!

What makes this villa unique

The property is located in a lovely backwater of the village with no through traffic. The sea is literally a few minutes walk away as is the village centre. We can travel to the airport by train, so no need for lifts or taxis. We have a great selection of restaurants and bars and we also have our own seaside Chateau, which is open to the public. We have wonderful coastal walks or river walks - all directly from the house. We also have 2 x golf courses on our doorstep and 2 x marinas. There is also a nautical centre, within walking distance, where you can hire dinghies, weight boards, kayaks etc..

Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bathroom towels (not beach) and linen are provided. Linen is changed before arrival. Villa will be cleaned before arrival. A beautiful and relaxing property in a beautiful and relaxing location!

I stayed here with my partner and parents and we could not have asked for a better property or location. The separate studio meant that we could all be together but still have our own space. The hosts were fantastic and all the pre tip information was clear and concise. They even made sure we were able to park easily outside the property. The property was situated in a perfect location from which to access the town and beach, which was perfect for swimming. It was also really easy to get around and travel further afield. We hired a car but also got the train into Cannes which was quick, reliable and cheap! We all left with interior design inspiration from both the inside and the garden. I would throughly recommend both the property and location and hope we will be able to visit again. A very relaxing and enjoyable trip was had by all.

A Wonderful Little Oasis in a Very Friendly Town

As soon as we walked through the gates to the villa we were blown away. Any fears or doubts over our choice immediately disappeared! As we gradually discovered the garden and rooms our excitement only grew. And as the realisation dawned on us that our home for the next 7 nights was actually the perfect destination for our very private, "chill-out" needs - with plenty of space, clean rooms, comprehensive kitchen, loads of relaxation options in the garden and a feeling of privacy in comfort - we relaxed.

The villa is lovely. One immediately feels at home - even spoilt at the thought that it is just for you.

It's not easy to please everyone, but

There were three of us - mum, dad and 17-yr old son whose sole priority for the whole week was to get a tan. He wasn't disappointed.

My wife - a "particular" person when it comes to accommodation - was over the moon. To hear them both say within minutes that it was the ideal holiday home for them was music to a father's ears!

The positives? Barely five minutes walk to a lovely beach & bay with scenic castle, seemingly never over crowded, genuinely friendly beach bar & safe swimming. Another beach lies the other side of the castle, but we never got that far; too easy to hire a sunbed & parasol for half a day or longer on the jetty and be lazy.

The town has an intimate, village-like feel. An under 10 minute walk to the heart of the village and everything you might need - boulangerie, fruit & veg shop, pharmacy, ATM, a small supermarket and the gregariously friendly spit-roast chicken vendor. Be warned! You may have to pre-order it's so good. All you need in a compact area. Really...more like a village only a few minutes stroll.

There's also a top selection of restaurants to tempt, but we tended to stick to the same friendly team & picturesque setting beach-side at Le Boucanier or eat in. La Napoule has everything from quality pizza to elegant Michelin Star but it's appeal is that it doesn't have a commercial feel. Very natural, very friendly and very relaxing.

The only negatives might be the train line running nearby but it doesn't disturb and soon we didn't even notice. The studio needs a bigger fan or better cooling at night too. It can be hot.

We loved the villa, but what reassured us most pre-arrival was the help, advice and attention we received from the owners: full details about what's available nearby, how to find it, the various transfer options from Nice Airport, all made easy.

Coast/Beach:

There are numerous sandy beaches within a few minutes walk - all good for swimming and snorkeling. Free beach showers on all beaches and also toilets. Kayak, yachts etc can be hired. Sea fishing and river fishing within walking distance of the villa. There is a nice walk along the river where there is a rowing club which some of our guests have used. There is also a free outside gym along the river walk.

Travel:

Nice airport is 35 minutes away. This can be reached by buses or train. The train involves a ten minute walk at the airport end and a seven minute walk at the villa end. Car hire is not needed as there are good train and bus services. (bus to Cannes is 1.50 Euros). The train will take you to Italy in one direction -via Cannes, Juan Le Pin, Antibes, Nice, Monaco etc. In the other direction you can travel to Marseilles.

Distances:

The local village is a few minutes walk away. Local beaches also 2 mins walk away. Lovely seaside marina also a few minutes walk. Cannes is 2 x train stops (10 mins) down the coast. It is 7 kilometres away and can be walked to, along the coast in 1 hour 10 mins. Nice is 35 mins by train. Cap d'Antibe, Cap Ferrat, Juan le Pin can all be reached by train. Two tiered trains with airconditioning. Lovely journey along the coast.

Further Details:

The local village (La Napoule) has several bread shops, butchers, small supermarket, wine shop and bar, tabac, newsagent and numerous restaurants. There are restaurants in the village or down by the marina on the waterfront. La Napoule has it's own chateau by the beach where their is a museum and lovely restaurant overlooking the immediate coast with further views to the Bay of Cannes and the Italian Alps in the distance.
