About the property

This is a 1970's highly skilful barn conversion .The two properties exude great charm and character and provide a wonderful holiday venue, - with great facilities and a high degree of comfort. The views to the sea and over the farmland to the mountains are breathtaking. They are just two of the 4 cottages on this secluded site which makes them ideal for extended families of several generations,- but they do remain extremely attractive for smaller parties including couples. The other two cottages Ysgubor and Ystabal can be seen at W2358,- or all 4 can be viewed in more detail at llysbennarholidaycottages.co.uk

the obvious attractions of our cottages are the proximity to a gorgeous child friendly beach , only half a mile distance and the wonderful hill walking in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains in the immediate area.We are at the South end of the Snowdonia national Park. For more serious climbers Mt Snowdon is 35 miles away and Cadair Idris which is almost as Challenging is 16.5 miles. For serious Mountain Bikers the world famous Coed y Brenin is 17 miles away. For Bird Watchers a wide variety of coastal birds are present at seaside locations and the wonderful Ospreys are nesting at a site near Tremadog where the same pair have successfully hatched chicks,- having made the trip from N.Africa for the last 10 years. The cottages are ideally located for all these activities but those who want complete rest there is no where so peaceful just to take in the wonderful views of sand dunes and sea and mountains behind. We are just 5 miles from the World Heritage site at Harlech with its magnificent castle,- and where the famous Royal St Davids Golf Course is located. The Italianate Village of Porthmerion is within easy reach.

the properties are non smoking and sadly we cannot accept pets

Perfect holiday home from home

  • 5 of 5

Well what can I say apart from wonderful.

Richard and Sue were so welcoming when we got there. Richard had already been in touch 2 days before to check we knew where to find them and where to park. He greeted us on arrival and showed us around the house where we were greeted with homemade bread and cakes from sue...lovely.

The house is very spacious and well equipped. There were 4 adults and 5 children on our stay and we didn't need anything more.

Beautifully decorated throughout...very clean and every bed and sofa was very comfortable.

They provided us with a high chair and travel cot which was a big help to us too.

The pool table was a massive hit with everyone.

The dining table was fabulous...the children enjoyed setting the table ready for breakfast everymorning where we could all sit comfortably around and have a lovely chat about our day ahead.

The little river out the front was lovely to listen to aswell and watch the birds.

I could go on...i cant recommend enough.

Fabulous holiday

If your looking for somewhere for a big family holiday this is the place...2 smaller cottages either side and would be perfect for a lovely family holiday

Llys Bennar

  • 5 of 5

Our family and some friends totaling 8 stayed for a long weekend. Before we arrived we had received an email from Owners direct saying the cottage was a scam and we were all very concerned as we had plans for our short break. I called Richard and Susan the owners straight away and they put us at ease and reassured us that all was OK and advised that Owners Direct had a problem with there system. We were meet in the evening by Richard who showed us around the property. The cottage was very well equipped to cater to all our needs. Susan had baked breed and cakes which were delicious and a thoughtful touch. In the morning we finally got to see the well maintained gardens and views of the sea and surrounding farm. The Cottage was easy to find and in our option situated in a convenient location for our needs and was comfortable and homely with plenty of room for everyone. The beautiful beach is just down the road and Snowdon only an hour drive through beautiful county roads and small villages. We toughly enjoyed our stay at your cottage and found our dealings with you easy and all email communication was swift, would differently stay here again if in the area.

Thank you

stunning cottage

  • 5 of 5

The area around the cottage is breath taking and then when we arrived at the cottage it was exactly the same as the area. We was greeted by the owner Richard who was very welcoming and showed us around the property. The property is huge and very well equipped. The children loved the pool table and kept them quiet for a while. We also loved the home made cakes and bread that awaited us. Would defiantly recommend this to anyone.

  • 5 of 5

Four adults and three kids had a fantastic time , loads of space a fantastic house, brilliant facilities, exceptionally clean and well equipped and extremely comfortable.

Great views, great beach nearby and good pubs in the nearby village.

We were sad to leave and already talking of coming back before we left.

A great place to bring a family

  • 5 of 5

My family, 4 adults and 2 babies, had a wonderful holiday at Llys Bennar. Richard and Sue made us very welcome and we loved the homemade bread and cakes left for us. The cottage is exactly as described, the photos did not do justice the the space we found we had.The upstairs sitting room had plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 6 month old babies and the views from the windows are fantastic. Sue and Richard loaned us 2 high chairs and 2 cots for the babies which saved us room in our cars. Plenty of bathrooms. The downstairs bedroom with on suite bathroom was ideal for the 2 older people. The kitchen is large and well maintained with enough crockery and cooking utensils to cook

any meal you can think of. The gardens are large with plenty of privacy, and well maintained. We particularly liked the laundry room with the old fashioned clothes airer, baby clothes were dry after one night in there. The pool table was very popular too.

The beach, a 2 minute drive away or a 20 minute walk away, is great for young and older children, very peaceful with good views.

Barmouth is a lovely old seaside place, with a great beach with really close amenities to suit all tastes.Plenty of good cafes and take-aways. Barmouth is a ten minute drive from the cottage.

We had a lovely holiday at Llys Bennar and would recommend it whole-heartedly, a home from home. We will be back.Thank you Sue and Richard.

Excellent all round site for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful family holiday surrounded by our daughters and grand children. There was plenty of space with comfortable seating in the lounge and fantastic beds. The toys that Richard and Susan provided kept the children busy in those crucial times just before bed time. There was a variety of things to do in the area for all three generations. Our grandson enjoyed mock fights in his newly acquired knight's armour at Harlech castle and the grand parents had some quiet relaxation on walks in the nearby countryside, where there is a wealth of well signed footpaths. It was straight forward to use the Welsh Coastal Path as a starting point and to take detours off into the hills. All in all we had a very restful time.
