"Tides" Contemporary, pet friendly, free wi-fi, seaside home, in Bacton, Norfolk - 2 Minutes from the beach, shop and eating places within a short walk

Tides is a tastefully refurbished, end of terrace holiday home based on Rainbows End Park in Bacton. It sleeps four in two bedrooms, has an open living and dining room and is pet friendly too. The property is decorated in a coastal style, with tiled floors throughout. Come here to relax and enjoy the sea air, but there are so many gems to discover within Norfolk that you are just a short drive away from discovering. Nearby are Happisburgh Lighthouse and East Ruston Gardens, travel a little further to enjoy Cromer Pier, Bewilderwood, Amazona Zoo, National Trust properties, Steam Railways, the Norfolk Broads; there is a wealth of places to explore whilst on holiday. If you can drag yourself away from the beach that is!

1) Short break prices are for 3 night weekends (Friday to Monday), 4 night midweek (Monday to Friday) with flexible bookings between November and March. For all other durations the price quoted may not be accurate, because of the site's technical limitations. We will provide and confirm the correct price by email.

2)Two night stays are welcome but they are priced at my short break rate, not the nightly rate automatically quoted by Owners Direct when you enquire. Please check the rate table or contact me for correct rates.

About Debbie Copas

Tides is a sister property to Beachscape, both based on Rainbows End Park. Enjoy these seaside retreats in a village my family have holidayed in for four generations.

I created Norfolk Coastal Holidays as an umbrella for the three properties I now take bookings for. We live a few hours away, but travel to Norfolk regularly throughout the year, to ensure that the properties remain at a high standard and any little problems get ironed out as quickly as we can!

Beachscape is identical in layout to Tides and also sleeps 4 in two bedrooms. I also take bookings for a beautiful two bed cottage with wood burner in nearby Happisburgh.

Why Debbie Copas chose Bacton

Bacton is a small unassuming village, but the beauty of it is there is currently no public access to most of the beaches. Therefore it really is like a private oasis of peace and quiet even in the busy summer season. Tides is based on Rainbows End Park, which has no facilities, simply the sea and beach on its doorstep! What makes this cottage unique

Arriving in this part of rural Norfolk, is a little like stepping back in time; life is slower paced, the locals are friendly and you can breathe in beautiful clean sea air! The property is very well placed for exploring much of Norfolk. Travel up and down the coast enjoying the charms of the many seaside villages, take a day boat out and stop for lunch within the Norfolk Broads, or for big city life, take a trip into the beautiful city of Norwich, just 30/40 minutes away. Feeling refreshed! Have been to this part of Norfolk many times, but never stumbled across Rainbows End. We shall return in the future I'm sure. Lovely chalet, super location. Our little one particularly enjoyed the large choice of toys left for him to play with. Very comfortable, friendly and helpful neighbours - only downside is we have to go home! March 2014

We welcome two to a maximum of four dogs for a small charge, size dependent. No dogs under one year old at the time of the holiday. Enjoy the decked terrace at the front of the property; it also provides a shelter from the coastal winds and is a lovely morning sun trap to enjoy your breakfast all year round when the sun shines! Outside storage box containing rotary dryer and numerous beach/outdoor toys. Picnic benches dotted around the park to have an al fresco meal on. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Hotel quality bedlinen provided, but please bring your own towels. End of stay clean provided. Check in from 3pm, checkout by 10am unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Lovely place, shame about the weather :D

Property was clean, tidy and well equipped. The neighbours were very friendly and warned us about the quick changes in weather that Bacton had experienced recently and thus the family games were very well received as the kids were kept busy and encouraged a bit of family bonding as opposed to the usual clamour for technology! I can see why they say this area is a lovely haven for dog walkers. You can not fault it for that. Great access to the beach. Watch the tide times as it comes in quick and very high. On better days I could imagine it is a fantastic place to go down onto, but sadly we had some very hard rain which didn't stop the beachcombing but didn't allow for much else :) Excellent location for driving out to places and particularly recommend Priory Maze out towards Sheringham way and Thrigby Hall out towards Great Yarmouth. Local amenities - Lovely Café around the corner and Chinese Takeaway - really friendly. Didn't get to experience the fish and chip shop but the queue was way out the door and around the corner so must either be good or the only one for miles!!! If you need to do a bigger shop rather than a convenient shop, head out into the nearest Sainsburys - easy to get to and lots of parking - just don't miss the turning :) All in all a good holiday! Lovely, comfortable little retreat.

I recently came back from staying at Tides. My husband, 2 boys and dog all had a lovely time. Tides is comfortable, clean and just perfect. It is a matter of minutes walk to the beach ( where you can take the dog). There is a huge green that surrounds Tides where the dog can go, the only thing you have to do is keep them on a lead whilst in Rainbow end park.

We will definitely be coming back to stay at Tides. We loved it. Thank you so much.

The weather was great which always helps.

I found a lovely cafe round the corner called Sugar and spice cafe. Great food and cakes a really great find. ( turn left out of Rainbow end park, then right on to the main road, next right and your there.

Very home from home, clean and of a high standard

The property was everything it said on line, and very comfortable, not to big but definitely big enough for four adults and a dog. Great location and especially enjoyed visiting Sheringham Park as did Fagon. We would definitely recommend Tides to anyone wanting to visit this area!

We felt welcome from the moment we walked through the door to find dog treats left for our pooch. The property was exceptionally clean and bright and the little extras such as foil, kitchen paper towel, salt & pepper too many to mention them all ,made it feel very homely.

Also Debbie's pre holiday info proved very useful, especially the warning about the pot holed entrance road, be warned this is very bumpy.

We would definitely recommend this property, great location, easy walk to the beach and Bacton village which is conveniently located to visit the attractions of the north Norfolk coast and the Broads.

Thanks Debbie we are looking forward to our next visit.

Coast/Beach:

Just two minutes walk from Bacton beach, a sandy beach that comes and goes with the tides. Access is via concrete steps down the sea wall to the beach, with a further set of steps dependent on beach height which varies throughout the season. You'll find a tide clock in the property to help you plan your day. You can walk along the promenade even when the tide is in and a short drive away are other beaches, that remain regardless of the tide.

Travel:

Car recommended for this destination but there are enough local facilities within walking distance for a short break. Train service to Norwich and then a local service to North Walsham. Taxis available from the station, approx 5 mile drive to the property. Bus service weekdays only. Nearest airport Norwich International 20 miles away. Car Hire available at the airport from Avis, Hertz and Europcar.

Distances:

We are ideally placed to explore the many seaside towns along the Norfolk Coast, including Cromer, Sheringham and Great Yarmouth, the Norfolk Broads or to the beautiful city of Norwich.

Cromer is 20 minutes away where you will find it's historic pier with a fabulous theatre as well as the lifeboat station. See a show, go crabbing or enjoy fish and chips at No 1, high on the town overlooking the pier. Travel 15 minutes further up the coast to Sheringham and enjoy a steam train ride!

Further Details:

Tides has many good local facilities within a 15 minute walk or nearer.

Well stocked local shop: papers, off licence, general foodstuffs.

Sugar and Spice cafe - on the Coast road, lovely food, excellent ratings on Trip Advisor and dog friendly too!

Bacton fish and chips, a very popular takeaway

Duke pub and Poachers Pocket pub - both dog friendly with good food at Poachers.

Keswick hotel restaurant for a special night out or try the Chinese restaurant - eat in or takeaway.

Venture out in the car and there are lots of dog friendly places to visit and eat at.

You will find everything you need at the three nearest towns, North Walsham, Stalham and Cromer. Local farm shops, banks, chemists, supermarkets, pet shops, markets and more.

Norfolk is full of places to visit, with something around every corner for all the family, young to old and including the family pet. We have lots of information on our website, so once you've booked, do go browsing and decide what you plan to do during your stay with us. There's so much you'll need to come back another time and indeed we have many happy returning guests, now we have been in business for six years!

National Trust properties include Blicking and Felbrigg Hall and the beautiful Sheringham Park. For walkers, try Bacton Woods inland or walk along the coastal path. Children will simply enjoy the beach or take them to Bewilderwood, Amazona Zoo, Pleasurewood Hills, or the many activities in Great Yarmouth.

Visit the seals at Horsey or take a boat trip to Blakeney. Climb Happisburgh Lighthouse on one of its open days, or simply take photos from nearby. Norfolk is a photographers dream! Steam trains, museums, gardens, cinemas, sports facilities, nature reserves - there's everything you could wish for in whatever makes your perfect holiday.
