About Sarah Vaughan

I was born and grew up in Sheffield and moved from Yorkshire to the Midlands in my late 20s. I am married and work as an Advisory Teacher in Staffordshire. I love the outdoors and am most relaxed when I'm by the sea - whatever the weather!

Sarah Vaughan purchased this cottage in 2003

Why Sarah Vaughan chose North Cornwall

I have been a visitor to Cornwall all my life and have very happy childhood memories of summer holidays spent in and around Padstow. When the opportunity arose to buy a second home I didn't consider anywhere else - it had to be Padstow!

Lovely cottage in great location!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Meadow Court a couple of times previously but this New Year was the first time we have stayed at 'The Pad'. It's in such a lovely location and only a 15/20 min walk into Padstow which has everything you could possibly need from really good restaurants, pubs/shops as well as a couple of nearby beaches so your car doesn't really need to move if you don't want to drive anywhere. There's also a Tesco just up the road from the cottages so very convenient for any bits and pieces you might need. Turning to the cottage itself; it's so comfy and well equipped. Don't think there was anything I'd improve really and would definitely book again. In fact, we already have for this coming New Year's Eve!

Lovely holiday cottage in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

The Pad is situated in a peaceful, beautiful environment a short drive or 20 minute walk from Padstow. It is extremely well equipped and has everything you could possibly need for your holiday. Plenty of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils and pleasingly there was washing up liquid and dish washer tablets supplied. The Pad was spotlessly clean on arrival. It is a very homely, relaxing and very well maintained. Sarah, the owner responded promptly to e mails during the booking process and queries whilst we were away. Can highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Perfect Location for a Padstow Foodie Weekend

  • 5 of 5

As regular visitors to Cornwall as we have both friends and family in the area my partner and I are always looking for the perfect base and the Pad may just be it. It is a welcoming little house with the character and feel of a cottage with the clean lines of a modern property. Only a small draw back ..and I mean small there is no wardrobe but if you want character sometimes the compromise is worth it. The large corner sofa is perfect to cuddle up on after a long day in the sea air. And the view from the shower out over the countryside is breath taking. The kitchen has everything you will need. . just add food! There is ample parking which is a god send - and it is close to the house! For us it is the perfect location - off a little road at the top of Padstow it offers a rural setting but is a walk away from the sea and the town. Also our friends live in St Merryn so it was an easy drive to them, Rick Stein's Fish & Chips at the Cornish Arms and a Roast Carvery to die for at The Farmers Arms! We were only away for 5 days but we manage to visits - Turo for the Cornwall Food Festival, Falmouth and the amazing harbour, Jamie's Fifteen at the amazing Watergate Bay, Lust Glaze Beach which is worth the 133 step climb down! And Padstow to our favourite place to eat Rojanos. And after all that the Pad was the perfect place to come back to, warm, welcoming - with wine and biscuits upon arrival... Thank you we will be back!

Will definitely be back

  • 5 of 5

Very well located, just down the road from tescos and a lovely walk away from Padstow. The pad is fully equipped with absolutely everything you need. There is a lovely garden together with a courtyard out the back to enjoy a glass of wine. My only recommendation would be to consider installing wifi as our signal was so poor. Cannot wait to return to this little gem

Beautifully equipped cottage in ideal location.

  • 4 of 5

We have just spent 5 nights staying at the Pad. The only downside was that it wasn't long enough!

The cottage was situated in the perfect location for us, away from the busy town centre. We loved Padstow and were in an ideal location to visit and explore lots of other towns.

The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The little walled garden was a bonus as was the parking. We used the park and drive into Padstow. There is a Tesco and a petrol station a couple of minutes drive away which was handy.

Absolutely loved our visit to Cornwall and hope to return. I have already recommended this property to friends! Thank you Sarah 😊

Fantastic Home from Home!

  • 1 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at the pad. With everything you would ever need!! We ate in each night with friends even visiting us too, we had plenty of space and all the supplies we needed!

On arrival we found complimentary Wine and Biscuits which went down a treat after the long journey there!!

Our daughter loved enclosed area to the front where she could ride her bike and even fly her kite.

Whilst the bathroom is small it is fully functional and clean.

We couldn't change the weather and typical british summer time it rained the majority of the time, but that didn't stop our fun and with a couple of dvds available we managed a cosy night in with cheese biscuits from one of the deli's in nearby Padstow, some hot chocolate for the little one and wine for us grown ups!

Easy travel to many of the many of the surfing hotpots, we first visited Polzeath. Only a 25 minute drive. And Newquay also only around half an hour away!

Perfect location, Clean Tidy and Everything youll need!

We cant wait to visit again!

Owner's Response: Thanks for such a great review Amy, I'd love to see your 5 star reviews if The Pad gets one with a write up like that!! Or maybe the one star was selected in error? It will be great to welcome you back to The Pad next time you visit the area. Sarah
