Overview

About the property

Apartment in Buenavista Golf 1, Ciudad Quesada, Quiet street with unobstructed view at front.

In a prime position, with an unobstructed view across the golf course in the valley, to the hills beyond, this Ground floor Apartment offers a perfect place as a holiday base, to explore, to relax after a round of Golf, or just to relax, relax!

With it's spacious living area, Glass doors opening to extend the living space onto the sunny terrace, sunshine from mid-morning to late evening & glorious sunsets, it really is the perfect holiday location.

The tiled garden makes the maximum use of space, enabling sun-worshippers plenty of room to use the loungers provided &, perhaps, supervise the male barbeque king, while he whips up a tantalising charred feast!

After a sunbathe, a saunter down the block leads to the communal pool, allowing a refreshing dip, then, more sunbathing on the loungers provided at the poolside. For those with the energy, there is an area and equipment provided for a game of boules.

After all this relaxing you may need the stimulus of drifting down to the bars at the end of the road for some night life. Stevie's Lounge bar has some super entertainment nights, as well as a Great Sunday Lunch. Or there's the slightly quieter Pirate bar, for some convivial conversation. Of course, there's always 'Shenanigans' to get up to - or in to.

I loved the Asian restaurant, above the supermarket, where the Spanish singer sang La Bamba for us. Then there's the Club House restaurant for 'fine dining'.... It's all such hard work!

I'm not really into Golf - gosh, did I just say that - oops! But even I know everyone raves about the Marquesa Course! Maybe I should try it? Is it ready for me??

There are other famous courses nearby, so I'm told, but I'm sure Golfers know that already, without my very limited input.

I do, however, love art and have been totally inspired by the area around Ciudad Quesada. Even the golf course, with the lovely splashes of colour of the golfers outfits against the green could have me reaching for a canvas.

If more hectic sports are your 'bag' there are plenty around, from quads to horses, to surfboards and wind-surfing.... I think I need to go back to my lounger!

For families with kiddies - well, there's the pool, and the pool, and then there's the pool - if they're anything like mine were? There is, of course, the Aquatic park, for some extreme sliding, splashing, etc. (how wet Can they get Dad?) Then there's the Beaches.... Oh, Heaven! Buckets & Spades at the ready, Get set...GO!! Please, Please, don't forget the sunscreen - totally, head to foot, waterproof, everything proof, because that lovely sun is DANGEROUS! what else? Oh, yes, where Did they bury Dad??

When they're tucked up, tuckered out, in bed - that's when the terrace, wine, sangria, whatever, beckons. Mum time & Dad time - yeah!

We just want you, whoever, whatever, you are to enjoy the fruits of our labours.

Roll on November - that's fully booked, by the way - by us!!

About Arlene MacPhie

John & Arlene MacPhie

We purchased our apartment on April 1st, this year. We've had huge fun getting it ready for letting and will be back in November, following our work in the Hospitality sector on the beautiful Isle of Skye. Here we have a B&B, Cafe Bistro with an Art Gallery attached & a Filling Station. A busy life, but very rewarding, helping people to enjoy their holidays.

We look forward to relaxing in November, and in the meantime want people to enjoy a holiday in our beautiful spot in prestigious Ciudad Quesada.

Arlene MacPhie purchased this apartment in 2014

Why Arlene MacPhie chose Torrevieja Area

Ciudad Quesada is a beautiful dream of one man, a builder, who has made it come true!

Buenavista Golf I is a really charming, friendly community within the larger urbinisation.

The first thing to attract us was the view across the road, taking in the valley and hills with a panoramic view beyond. After this, going into the apartment, we were struck by the spaciousness of the accommodation and the amount of light flooding the rooms.

The road is quiet and peaceful, but only 10mins stroll down the gentle hill, takes us to the local bars, shops and restaurants, as well as the Golf club house and the Marquesa golf course.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful, welcoming us quickly into the community, which was lovely.

What makes this apartment unique

The closeness of the Golf course, makes this a prime location for golfers, while the Boules area within the Communal pool, allows for other gentle pursuits. The beautifully planted Pool garden has some unusual specimen plants, which I loved.

The Blue Flag award to the nearest beaches at Guardamar, is a great bonus and with excellent restaurants along the promenade a relaxing meal is a great end to a day at the Beach.

We stayed in this apartment for two weeks and had a great stay. There was only two of us but it would be just as good with more people. It has everything you would want, just like being at home. Great place.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: This is a brand new venture - and almost everything in the apartment is brand new. We have had a lot of fun equipping it, as well as a lot of hard work & hope we have provided everything you need to make your stay comfortable & enjoyable. With the solid wood, 'Spanish feel' furniture, comfortable seating, and ambience lighting, we have done our best to provide a relaxing base, from which to have fun exploring this beautiful area of Spain, or just 'chilling'! We hope you like the art on the walls. We turned the shop upside down, chosing it! I love the one in the double room - just wish it was original! There is an air-con. unit in the living area & a large fan for each bedroom, which should keep everyone cool indoors, remembering to keep the doors and windows closed and the heat out. There is a hairdryer in the double bedroom fitted wardrobe & ironing board in the twin bedroom fitted wardrobe. The iron is in a kitchen cupboard. There are a couple of games in the t.v. unit. Outside: The garden area is newly tiled, with a raised border to one side, where I WILL plant a Bourganvillea in November! I did it! There are 2 loungers provided, 2 beach chairs & a Barbeque. The terrace has a table & 4 chairs and is a perfect 'chill out' zone, with views across the valley (with the golf course in the bottom of it). The pool is situated behind the apartment and you will have a key, as it is private to the community. It's approached from either direction. I walk down the road going & along the back road & then down the road returning (the easiest option!) There are stacks of loungers at the pool, as well as an excercise bike, a boules area, seating beside the pool & in the garden area. Take a picnic with you and enjoy. The people on Buenavista Golf I are lovely & very helpful. The pool is quite large (see photos) and has a shallow area. N.B. Young children are NOT allowed in without an adult. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels & linen are included. (We provide Beach Towels. If used you must wash them, as they are not part of cleaning contract) The property is cleaned and the cleaner is paid direct by you, on arrival. She will give you the keys, and answer any queries. Other: Glass sliding doors lead onto the terrace, which has a table and chairs for 'al fresco' dining, or just enjoying a glass of excellent Spanish wine. The sun-drenched garden has 2 loungers, 2 beach chairs & a barbeque.

Has everything you need and more.

Wonderful Appartment, in a great location with all the mod cons you need wifi, tv and, air con. Also benefits from a great communal pool which is very large and well looked after. The outdoor furniture was very modern and, comfortable to sit in whilst enjoying a glass of wine watching the sun set. We would definitely recommend this appartment and hope to use again in the future.

Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. I was quite envious, as we bought the outdoor set for purely the reason you used it for! The sunsets' can be truly beautiful. Thank you for leaving such a lovely review and we certainly do hope you will come again.

Owner's Response: We're very pleased you enjoyed our apartment & that you wish to come back. The restaurants at the bottom of the road are so good - & varied & we find the bars have lively entertainment, as well. We feel lucky to be so near, yet far enough away not to be disturbed! Thank you for being lovely guests.

Not ok!

  • 2 of 5

It was very cold inside the first 20 hours. Why not warm up the flat before we come? Big promlems with the keys, so we could not open the safet door, grill?, so we have to telephone friends in Benijofar, so they came with oil, so that could be open. With fire I`m not sitting here now and write this review! The flat was in the dark side, so the sun could only reach the flat a short time (2017-03).

Location

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is at Guardamar, which is one of many 'Blue Flag' beaches in this area of Costa blanca south. It takes 10mins to drive to. Just another 2-3mins along the N332 takes you to La Mata, which has another great beach. Another 10mins along the N332 and you're in Torrevieja. If you go to Torrevieja south, there is another beautiful beach. So we're really spoilt for choice! And I haven't even mention Playa Flamenca, or Punta Plena! just take your pick.

Travel:

Alicante Airport is 50K away. Murcia Airport is also a distance of 50K+ approx.

The use of a car is strongly recommended and we have had some really great deals on rental, as little as £3.00 a day!

A 'pick up' & 'drop off' service can be arranged for an extra charge

Distances:

Quesada village is approximately 1k over the hill and Rojales is about 2k, leading into Benijofar.

The Aquatic Park is between us & Quesada village, with another, bigger Aquatic Park at Torrevieja.

Further Details:

There is a local supermarket just down the road at the roundabout (which has a lovely fountain & statue of the builder, whose dream was Ciudad Quesada!) Also, here, you will find numerous Bars, Restaurants & a Take-Away, as well as a 'hole in the wall' for cash.

Rojales & Benijofar are still very Spanish in their population & culture, and have some great eating-places.

Quesada village has shops, restaurants & bars, with a lively night life. There are banks there.

The mountains are not far and very beautiful, with bars & bistros where you can practise your Spanish, or your Charade skills!

O.K. - so I did order us a !Snail Paella! once, but we just pushed them to one side and ate the rest.

We have found people charming & good humoured, while we fumbled our way along & (apart from the snails) I've enjoyed some delicious 'accidental' food.

Torrevieja is the nearest 'Big' town and has a theatre, cinema and themed dining places (Flamenca, Dressage, etc.). There is a beautiful park there, which has a large lake with ducks to feed & a childrens' play area.

There are plenty of water-sports to be found at Guardamar, horse-riding is a big thing is Spain, as is quad-biking, just ask at the information office, down the hill, on the way to the roundabout and they will give you all the leaflets, if there aren't any left in the apartment.

There is a market, locally, most days of the week. The Quesada market on Sunday's is huge. (Look out for the spit-roasted Chickens - they're fantastic!) Again, the information office will help with details.

We have been in Nov/Dec. when the Oranges were being harvested, Jan/Feb. when the Almond trees were in full bloom & Mar/April, when the Orange & Lemon trees are in full bloom & the scent is just wonderful!

Because we are in tourism on the Isle of Skye, summer is for you - Enjoy!
