One bedroom apartment in Morzine. Sleeps up to four. Top Floor - great views, peaceful but very near restaurants and ski lifts.

Le Picasso is our own apartment. It is very conveniently located - just 600 metres from the ski lifts but very peaceful. We bought the apartment in 2014 and have re-furnished it with quality fittings and re-decorated in tasteful style, with new wool carpet throughout and luxurious curtains. It even has genuine Picasso and Matisse prints on the walls. The living/dining room is a good size room (6 metres wide) opening on to the top floor balcony with great views to Pointe de Nyon and beyond. The living room has a vaulted ceiling adding to the feeling of spaciousness rarely found in ski apartments.

The apartment has one bedroom (own window), coin montagne bunk beds in the hallway, bathroom (shower over bath) and separate wc. The kitchen area off the living room is fully equipped and has quality crockery, pans etc. There is a ski locker on the ground floor.

About the Owner

Le Picasso is owned by Kevin and Jayne. It is managed for us by Kevin's son Toby and Tamara, who own 5* Morzine chalet company, Mountain Utopia Ltd. They look after all our booking confirmations and payments and are on hand as our 'in resort' agents if needed.

We bought Le Picasso because we love the French Alps - for skiing in winter, relaxing during the 'in between' months, and walking in the summer. We chose Morzine because it is a 'proper' town, which, unlike many ski resorts is 'open' all year round.

We spent over 12 months looking for the right place before we found an apartment that met our 'tick list': near enough to walk to ski lifts but not sitting on top of night clubs and bars; nice balcony with great views; good size living room.

Fantastic Apartment

Just had a excellent holiday is this apartment. The apartment was very clean and it was home from home as everything had been thought of. Really good instructions on how to find the apartment. Bargain of the holiday had to be the multipass, unlimited access to lifts , navettes swimming pools etc. We've been on holiday in Switzerland and we would have been bankrupt if we had used the lifts as much as we did here. Would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and if we come back (sure we will) we will stay here again.

Great apartment close to everything

I stayed here with my 2 teenage sons for a week. The apartment had everything that you want. It is 5 minutes from both main lifts and the nearest supermarket is only 3 minutes away.

Halfway through our stay we had a problem with the heating and Toby was there in 20 minutes and fixed it - very impressed.

UK tv was a bonus also.

Perfect base for our first family ski trip

A beautiful apartment with stunning mountain views. Located just 5 minutes walk from the bottom of the Pleney lift, made for an incredibly easy to start our day on the slopes and be able to come back half way through the day for a break!

The apartment is very well equipped, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, beds made up, linens supplied and even British TV! Kevin was able to give us plenty of advice - how to get there, where to hire skis and where to book ski lessons as well as lots of suggestions for eating out. There is a good supermarket at the bottom of the road where you can get everything you need.

Le Picasso Apartment Morzine

Le Picasso is a great apartment situated in a very quiet part of town.

5 minute walk to lifts, shops, restaurants and bars.

The apartment itself was warm, clean and very well presented, it has everything you need for self catering, plus nice extra touches to make you feel right at home and very comfortable. The view from the apartment balcony is stunning.

There is plenty information supplied in the apartment for activities in the area, where's good to eat etc.

We will definitely be back to stay again.

A good base for a week's skiing!

A warm, welcoming and well equipped apartment (even has boot warmers)! The sleeping arrangements were perfect as our daughter could sleep on the bunk bed in the hall while we chilled out round the corner in the living room (v comfortable beds BTW). There was a good 3G signal in the apartment so the lack of wifi wasn't a major issue. Pre-arrival instructions and getting into the apartment was a breeze - the owner even emailed me before we arrived to advise on weather conditions and the best route to take from the airport to avoid getting snarled up in the snow. The ski locker at the bottom of the apartment was great - saved on carting wet skis about the place. We had a car, so parked downstairs (off road) and drove each day to Les Gets. However, if on foot it's not far to get to the Pleney slopes and the shops on the main street. There's also a super market at the bottom of the road within easy walking distance. The views from the balcony are stunning, looking right up the valley towards Nyon, a lovely vista to eat your breakfast to. At night you can sit and look across the roof tops of Morzine and watch the snow fall! Many thanks Toby for the info prior to arrival and keeping an eye out for us while we were there. Thoroughly recommend this place!

Location

The apartment is just 600 metres from the Pleney and Super Morzine ski lifts giving easy access to both Morzine-Les Gets and Avoriaz. For much of the winter you can ski back on 'Piste B' (Pleney) to within 100 metres, which is really nice after a long day on the slopes. At more than 20 square metres, the living room is a real feature of Le Picasso. We bought the property in May 2014 and re-decorated it in tasteful style. We use the apartment ourselves, so you will find homely features - quality bed linen, plenty of books, games, dvds etc. Also good quality kitchenware including crockery (by Rachael Barker).

Activity and Interests

Morzine is a great destination winter and summer. Fantastic for snow activities, hiking and cycling, but also with enough other things going on that you can just relax and chill-out.

The lifts for both sides of the Morzine ski area are just 7 minutes walk (and there is a shuttle bus stop 50 metres from the apartment). The town centre with its great choice of restaurants bars and shops is also just 7 or 8 minutes walk, while there nearest restaurant and supermarket are just 2 minutes walk.

In summer the main ski lifts run from late June to early September for walkers and mountain bikers.

There are plenty of 'days out' to be had nearby - maybe a picnic by local Lac Montriond, a day trip to Lausanne for the Jazz festival, or a visit to Yvoire and a boat trip on Lac Leman.

Even in the quieter 'interseason' months like May and October, most of the shops are open as are a number bars and restuarants.

Getting to Morzine is much easier than many Alpine resorts, with

Geneva airport just 1 hr 20 minutes away and with many companies providing frequent and well priced shuttle transfers. Weekend trains go direct from Paris to Thonon, from where you can get a bus or a taxi.
