Overview

About the property

Castillon Du Gard, Languedoc-Roussillon. House located centre of triangle of Nimes, Avignon & Uzes - In the center of a picturesque village, 3 Km from the Pont du Gard and 10 minutes from Uzès

Older than the French revolution, this house has been restored with respect and passion. It is a link to the past and a sanctuary. It is located between Nimes and Avignon, near the Alpilles, the Camargue and the Cévennes, close to the iconic Pont du Gard and the first duchy of France (Uzès). The Renaissance village of Castillon du Gard overlooks the valley of the Gardon. The keys to open the door to Provence are in your hands. Even if you prefer a holiday without a car, this village has a baker, a butcher, a newsagent and a Post Office. There is also a market on Tuesday mornings. You can relax and unwind without the need to travel. Those wanting to explore will find a wealth of interests close to hand. Most guests leave wanting another few weeks to try and see all that is to offer.

About Gill Meredith

My name is Gill Meredith and I manage the property rentals on behalf of the owner who is a french man working in Kyoto, Japan.

Gill Meredith purchased this house in 2013

Why Gill Meredith chose Uzes - Pont du Gard

Blue sky, fields of olive trees, lavender, sunflowers, red poppies, this region is full of colors and joy. This is not a coincidence if it inspired great painters such as Monet, Cezanne or Van Gogh.

The place is between Nîmes, Avignon and Uzès. It is very near Le Pont du Gard and the river of Le Gardon.

It offers the choice of many cultural and sporting activities such as hiking, horse riding, golf, canoe, swimming, cycling...

What makes this house unique

This period house is located in the center of a village which have been preserved. It is a pretty, tranquil location but has a good selection of facilities e.g. bakery, restaurants, post office.

A lovely property in a gorgeous village setting

  • 5 of 5

Property is full to the rafters with character - thick walls, massive outdoor fireplace, etc, etc. Setting is lovely in the village of Castillon du Gard and its location is perfect for visits to Avignon, Arles, Nimes, Monpellier, Pont du Gard and many others. Swimming at the weir in local Remoulin was very welcome in the 40C heat! A bonus was a village Camargue cowboy and bull run - very exciting and with food and drink for free!!

RIEN A REDIRE !!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

  • 4 of 5

Situation idéale pour découvrir la région d'Orange, Avignon, Nîmes, Arles et la Camargue.

Les + : la suite parentale et la terrasse. La décoration chaleureuse

Les - : tout petit coin cuisine équipé au minimum.
