Bleatarn Park offers a choice of one and two bedroom self catering cottages, housed within a former barn. Carefully restored and converted, the barn stands within its own grounds and is literally a stones throw from the Hadrian's Wall Path. Residents enjoy exclusive access to the famous World Heritage Site via a path passing the tarn that gives the property its name. Here you will see wildlife in its natural habitat as well as cattle and sheep grazing in open fields. A short drive away is the historic border city of Carlisle. Traditionally the gateway to Scotland, Carlisle is steeped in a rich history with its castle, cathedral and award-winning museum as well as modern and stylish shopping facilities. A forty five minute drive to the south will bring you to the Northern lake district to Ullswater and Keswick, the main tourist centre in the North Lakes. The cottages themselves are equipped to a very high standard, with modern kitchens and comfortable furnishings.

‘Lovely cottage, peaceful location, great to explore the lakes and other locations. Cottage really well apportioned, immaculate too. Thoughtful owners with all the kitchen items you need as we love to cook. We’ve stayed at many satisfactory places before and brought loads of items such as tea towels, cleaning items etc – no need to here, as they have thought of everything. Definitely better than other places stayed. We would visit again and recommend – Thank you’

Charming, quiet, high standard

The property is in a lovely quiet area outside Carlisle. On a farm with cows, so faint olfactory reminder of their presence. Beautifully finished, with dishwasher, washer & dryer. Great shower. Short trip to lovely Brampton for essentials. Close to fast roads for easy access to Hadrian's Wall & the Lake District.

Bleatarn Park has been in family ownership for over a hundred years. Formerly a redundant barn, its has been our dream to renovate and convert this beautiful building into holiday cottages for many years - a dream which we turned into reality in 2011. Bleatarn's peaceful location is a haven for nature lovers and we made the original farmhouse [adjacent] our own home nearly 20 years ago. What we love about the location is that despite the fact it is so peaceful, it is far from remote. A fifteen minute drive will bring you right into the city centre of Carlisle

Alllonby is a mecca for sea windsurfing and kite surfing, miles of golden sand and home to the famous Icecream parlour 'Twentyman's'.

The Victorian seaside town of Silloth - where you can but some of the finest fish and chips in the north of England

The grassy salt marshes of Burgh by Sands, where you can ramble amongst grazing sheep and cattle
