Hibiscus House is ideal for a family holiday or for couples searching for that memorable beach holiday. Situated in a quiet residential area, Pentire, with the golden sands of Fistral Beach one minutes walk away. Surfing lessons are available at discounted prices with one of Cornwall's longest standing Surf Schools. Approximately 1 mile west of the town centre, Newquay is the ideal location for a wide variety of holiday pursuits. For walking enthusiasts the North Cornwall coastal paths and the beautiful AONB of the Gannel Estuary are less than five minutes walk away. If Golf is your sport, Newquay Golf course is a short stroll away. Nearby amenities include a local shop, selling newspapers, just to the right, family pubs, cafes and several restaurants within walking distance. Hibiscus House offers secure storage, ample parking and a south facing garden that receives the sun all day long. If the beach does not beckon you then the decked and furnished garden can be enjoyed at your leisure. The south facing garden offers you the chance to follow the sun! This property does not have child locks on the kitchen doors nor windows. The stairwell and banisters have no child security so please be vigilant. This property is non-smoking and pet free. For short stays linen is not provided.

My name is Frances and I have lived in Newquay for 17 years. I also own Hibiscus surf school in Newquay so have lots of local knowledge which I am happy to share with you. Hibiscus House is next door to where I live so I am always on hand to help if you ever need anything. I try to make the property feel like its your own home and hope you enjoy your stay.

Why FRANCES CARTER chose Newquay & St Austell area

I love Hibiscus house as it is so near to the beach but away from the bustle of the town. It has a nice enclosed garden that has the sun from sunrise to about 4pm and is a suntrap. It has a lovely airy feel to it as is open plan, yet there is so much storage for all the bikes and boards. The garden has storage for all the wet things you have whilst on holiday. It has a front and rear access which is useful when unloading.

We have all fire safety standards in place and ask all guests to read and sign the fire safety document so they are clear what to do in case of a fire.

What makes this house unique

It is so close to Fistral beach and there is a local shop 500m up the road. It is nestled in a quiet residential area and has private parking. If you want to leave your car at home it is a short walk into town but there are bus stops nearby. There are fabulous restaurants and cafes all within walking distance. There is free wi fi at the pub close by.

Notes on accommodation: This property is a smoke free area and pets are not allowed. This property does not have child locks on the kitchen doors nor windows. Bedroom 1 window opens fully but we ask you not to do this but to only open it half way. The stairwell and banisters have no child security so please be vigilant. All guests will be met on arrival and when the booking has been accepted will receive an inventory of everything within the property. Arrival is after 3pm and departure before 10am Outside: The garden is south facing and is a sun trap. There is a decked area outside the kitchen that has a sofa, 2 chairs and a coffee table. Steps lead to the gravelled area. Gated for privacy as there is a private shed to the rear. Large gate leads to the rear access. The beach is ideal for barbecues: barbecues are not permitted anywhere on the property Utility Room: It has an iron, ironing board, sweeping brushes and clothes pegs for the extendable washing line. There is a hoover, wash basket and clothes airer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: On all lets linen is included. Bath towels are not included. If you stay for 2 weeks a cleaner will come in after a week clean and change the sheets if you so wish. Other: There is a large carpeted ex-garage/storage area that can either be used for storage or a play room for the kids. It has an electric roller door and surf racks. It was an integral garage so leads to the front door

A deposit of £100 and a £100 refundable damage bond is due at the time of booking.
(ii) Payment of the balance is due one month prior to your arrival. If booking is made within one month of your arrival, full payment will be required at the time of booking.
(iii) Once we have received your balance/ full payment, we will send you written confirmation of your booking along with the inventory of the property.


Changeover Day:
Changeover days are flexible, except in August when it is Saturday. The property will be ready for you at 3pm and departure time is 10am

Notes on prices:
In the event of cancellation, the £100 deposit, and money paid is non-refundable unless the house is re-let, but the £100 damage bond would be returned.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
