About the property

Cottage in Saint Saturnin Les Apt, Luberon, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Cote DAzur, France - Peacefully Tucked Away Yet 750 Metres Walk to Village With Excellent Commerces. That's Rare!

One of the features that make our gites stand out is the access to walk into the village in under 10 minutes. Whether this is to buy your baguette and morning croissant, for the weekly market or being able to walk home from one of the four restaurants so you can enjoy an extra glass of rosé! The swimming pool is shared between the two gites and occasionally by guests in our B&B room, it is heated early and late season and by sunshine the rest. It has salt water, which is kinder to your skin and the environment. Surrounding the pool are 6 sunbeds, 2 parasols and the pool house has a sofa and chairs where you can relax in the shade and keep your drinks cool in the fridge. The pool house is a great place for sundowners, which we often take with our guests making an ideal time to swap stories and get tips on things to see, hiking & Cycling routes, restaurants etc We have free WiFi in all areas, English & French television, covered parking and there is a laundry room for our guests with ironing board etc. The gites are almost identical, and are equipped to a very high standard with everything you will need if you enjoy cooking whilst on holiday and for alfresco cooking a weber BBQ is provided on your terrace. All linen, bathroom and pool towels are included. Over 50% of our clients return each year, and our clients are from all over the world, European, American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand & South African giving a great variety of interesting people to share experiences with.

About David Taylor

Karen and I are very hands on in our business, having project managed the build for two years we now passionately care for the building and gardens.

We both have hospitality experience and an interest in people and property together with a love for life in Provence.

David Taylor purchased this cottage in 2007

Why David Taylor chose Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt

We bought a village house in 2004 and loved being right in the village so when we purchased our land we were adamant it had to be within walking distance .

We like being able to walk to the boulangerie in the morning and back from the restaurant at night.

What makes this cottage unique

We are very quietly located yet close to the village. There are endless trails from here for walking and cycle routes and the famous villages and towns are easily accessible.

We have clients from all over the world and love meeting new people each week so evening aperos by the pool is a real highlight and from feedback our clients enjoy it to.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was our first visit to David and Karen's property and we stayed in one of the gites. David and Karen are excellent hosts making us feel very welcome throughout our stay and gave us lots of useful information about places to visit. The gite was comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. Amazing infinity pool and lovely gardens too. Fantastic views from our terrace where we enjoyed breakfast al fresco. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Delightful and well appointed property

  • 5 of 5

A bright modern and well equipped gite set in beautiful grounds. The accommodation was very clean and well maintained. A charming traditional French village is within easy walking distance, and offers a good choice of restaurants and local shopping amentities.

We were assisted greatly in discovering this beautiful part of Provence by our very welcoming and sociable hosts, David and Karen, who gave us the benefit of their extensive knowledge of the area by making helpful recommendations, A thoroughly enjoyable holiday which we would not hesitate to recommend.

Stunning views, close to village

  • 5 of 5

Well appointed gite, close to owners home but totally independent. Beautiful infinity pool shared with only 2 other couples. Easy walking distance of a village which boasts at least 6 places to eat, 2 boulangeries, an excellent butcher and lively Tuesday morning market.

Whether you prefer to walk, run, cycle, drive or just stay still, the owners are regularly available with advice and suggestions to make the most of your stay.

And finally.....a glass of rose at the poolside as the sun goes down is not to be missed.

Beautiful property, exceeded our expectations. David and Karen were the perfect hosts and ensured our stay went smoothly, including organising restaurant and even a hairdresser. They were amazing and the facilities were superb. Definitely recommend to others, a 'must experience'.

The perfect place for a relaxing summer break

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautifully equipped and very well-maintained gite, with a private terrace and shared use of a glorious infinity pool. The hosts are extremely welcoming and on hand every evening (usually over a glass of wine at apero time) to handle any queries, and to book restaurant meals. We have been returning for several years now and cannot imagine a better place to spend a fortnight in the sun.

Perfect break in the Luberon Valley

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week as guests of David & Karen Taylor at one of their gites on the edge of the delightful Saint Saturnin Les Apt. The accommodation was perfect with a view overlooking the infinity swimming pool and then on to the valley. The gite was very well appointed with everything we could have asked for, including the complimentary bottle on wine chilling in the fridge. We spent most evenings relaxing on our terrace after cooking dinner on the barbecue provided. There is an opportunity to mix with the other quests and the owners for pre-dinner drinks in the lovely seating area at the end of the pool, where you can watch the sun go down. David & Karen are extremely welcoming and are ready to offer advice on where to go and what to do to get the most out of the area. As a keen cyclist, David was happy to arrange bike hire for me and then to take me on a fantastic ride to the summit of Mt Ventoux, which is one of the famous hill climbs on the Tour De France. A shattering day but well worth it - David's expert knowledge of the various routes and landmarks in the area made the ride much more interesting. I will certainly be arranging another day out with David as a guide when we return, as I know we will.

Our 9th stay....says it all !

  • 5 of 5

The Gite is in a beautiful location, with amazing views of the Luberon hills. It is equipped with everything you need & is spotlessly clean & comfortable. It is a very pretty, short walk to the delightful village, which has lots of amenities, & two very good boulangeries. David & Karen are excellent hosts, who are always willing to share their vast knowledge of the area with you. The best villages/towns etc, & best places to eat, of which there are many!! There are so many beautiful places to see. It's good to catch up with D&K over aperos around the lovely pool early evening. We have booked already for 2018.
